  1. Okay, I guess I haven't done all of them. I stopped playing yesterday right after getting the notification that I met the requirements for the last Merlin challenge and I just assumed there were only enough trials to finish the Merlin challenge and get max inventory space.
  2. I mean I've completed all of them, so yes, though I do not recall what you wrote about. There's one in a village where you have to jump the boulder over a wall then get it across a bridge. That was fun.
  3. I finished all the Merlin Trials. There's a nice variety to them, but they're nowhere near challenging enough to be interesting. On the bright side, I have maximum inventory space now. As an aside, my favorite of the bunch are the roll the boulder down the hill trials.
  4. That looks like something I could do to Outer Worlds myself with Reshade, if I cared enough to play the game again (it's a good game but not memorable enough to warrant a replay). I can't wait for the day when devs release a "remaster" a week after initial release.
  5. I can't stop with the Dagoth Ur memes. I may have a problem. Send help.
  6. That sounds like prime Oscar-bait. There's nothing Hollywood loves more than fellating each other about how wonderful Hollywood is.
  7. I rather enjoy these puzzle rooms: I would not be opposed to tossing WB some money for a DLC with more puzzle rooms, provided the price is fair for the amount of puzzles included.
  8. While I would have preferred to have 1 big vivarium for my beasts, rather than 3 separate ones, I was pleasantly surprised that they're all different. I fully expected the devs to just Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V 2 times, instead Avalanche are quality devs and they made each vivarium distinct.
  9. A baby hippogriff, and I got the shiny variant! Some random screenies: **** just got real:
  10. My miso soup: Not authentic since I forgot to buy wakame and I'm too lazy to drive to the nearest asian market. Despite this, the soup is quite good. Lessons for next time: 1) Don't forget the wakame, dumbass 2) Use more daikon on account of daikon being much milder than a western radish and super delicious 3) Soft tofu was a good choice, held its shape and melts in my mouth
  11. I'm going deep down the Dagoth Ur rabbit hole. If this is what we get when Skynet ChatGPT takes over then I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords. Side-note: I really need to replay Morrowind, what a great game that was. /checks progress of OpenMW.
  12. FSR 2.2 is out. The main talking point in the release notes is a reduction in ghosting that's sometimes present with upscaling of fast moving objects.
  13. The Iceman Cometh (1989) - An utterly bizarre mashup of Hong Kong cinema. This movie starts out like a kung fu movie from a decade earlier taking place during the last days of the Ming Dynasty. The main protagonist and antagonist are brothers in the royal guard with the older brother being a psychopathic rapist and murderer. They fight and seemingly both die then both somehow wind up in "modern" (1989) times. Then we get a wacky fish out of water tale as our protagonist Zheng is taken advantage of by a prostitute. His evil older brother Feng San has acclimated to modern times faster than him and is still his murderous and raping self. Stuff only gets crazier from there. This movie wound up being a lot more comedy and less martial arts than I anticipated, and I think it's for the best. There's still a decent bit of kung fu action, especially at the beginning and end, but a lot of the movie is carried by strong comedic performances from Polly, the prostitute, and Feng San, the antagonist. For his part, Zheng , the protagonist plays a great fish out of water, then the straight man once he figures out how things work in modern times. That said, the prostitute Polly and evil older brother Feng San really drive this rather fun wacky action comedy. The ending makes no sense but given how weird the movie is overall, who cares. Side note: Top quality work from the fine folks at Vinegar Syndrome, as usual, on this beautiful 2K blu-ray.
  14. I've posted this before, I'm posting it again.
  15. I'm going to try my hand at making miso soup. I know I need dashi and I'm not yet adventurous enough to make my own from scratch, so I got concentrated dashi. There are a bunch of varieties of miso paste and I have no clue, so I just picked one. Tofu, ****ake mushrooms, sugar snap peas, and green onions (not pictured) seemed like no-brainers to add and I also got daikon I'm going to put in the soup because I love me some radishes.
  16. The screenies look good but they definitely don't do the game justice. Granted, this is true of most games, but more so with Hogwarts Legacy than on average. One of my favorite effects is when you go from a dark area, for example a cave, to the sunny outdoors. As you approach the cave entrance there is a moment when the light is blinding, then it fades as you step outside and things come into view. There is no way to truly capture that in a screenie.
  17. I learned my first unforgivable curse in Hogwarts. I've also specced my talents and gear to liberally apply curses to anyone and everyone I'm fighting and also to deal extra damage to cursed characters. I can't wait to get Avada Kedavra. I'm holding on to a talent point to get the talent that insta-kills all cursed enemies with Avada Kedavra.
  18. With a new version of the Ascendio FPS Improving mod, I was able to bump up to a higher quality upscaler setting, hence the FPS counter being back in the screenies, since I'm testing it out thoroughly. So far I've never seen it dip below 60 FPS during gameplay at the new settings. It will dip below 60 during cutscenes occasionally, but I don't care about that. I also tried a different Reshade mod: This one removes most of the fog and makes everything really sharp and more "real" looking. However "real" isn't really what I'm going for in my whimsical fairy tale adventure, plus I'm one of the few weirdos that likes the fog. I'd like to see it maybe thinned out a tad, but not removed almost entirely, so I went back to the Reshade mod I was using before with the high saturation and extra bloom.
