What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
@LadyCrimsonHopefully I wouldn't only be eating rice and beans, hopefully I would be able to kill an animal, a deer, a bear, a coyote, there's no shortage of them where I live. With that in mind, I should go on some hunting trips, it's been decades since I've been on a hunt. Owning a gun and being proficient with it is a good start, but there's more to being a skilled hunter. Also, I need to make sure I have a lot of salt, which, as it turns out, I currently do. I ordered a bunch of Himalayan salt to use in my grinder and I mistakenly ordered finely ground rather than chunks, so I have like 20 lbs of finely ground salt. I have to account for the possibility that refrigeration is not available and be prepared to preserve meat the old fashioned way, by salting the bejesus out of it.

In terms of amount of calories per volume and weight it's really hard to beat uncooked rice and dried beans. You can get all sorts of canned goods and they'll last a good number of years, but they're going to take up a lot more space. If I'm in a zombie apocalypse, I'm probably not going to be too worried about sticking to keto.- What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
That is something I will add to the kit, though I will still keep the bottled water because I'm not assuming that I have to GTFO, just planning for if I have to GTFO. It could be a situation like the the chemical spill in Ohio where I can remain in my home but tap water is not safe to drink. Even then, a filtration system is useful because bottled water will run out eventually. There's still stuff to add to the kit, things I haven't even thought of yet, but at least I have a solid base in place so if **** goes down tomorrow I'm not completely SOL.- What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
Over the last few months I've been putting together what I call the **** Went Sideways And Now We're Royally ****ed Survival Kit and it's mostly assembled. The kit includes: * Pistol * Rifle * Lots of ammo * Axe * Folding saw * Multitool * Big 'ol backpack * Tent * Sleeping bag * First aid kit * Flashlight * Lots of batteries * A case (50) of disposable lighters * 18 lbs of rice * 20 lbs of dried beans * Case (24) of bottled water I should probably get at least 1 more case of water. I should get an atlas too, we're so reliant on GPS these days, but what if GPS ain't an option? I have one in the truck at work, but I should have one at the house too. Also, welcome back @Guard Dog- NFL 2022-2023: The Bad Man is Gone
If it was just the picks to move up the 8 spots I wouldn't bat an eye at this trade, but damn, DJ Moore is a legit #1 receiver and he has a lot of tread on the tires. This is definitely a win for the Bears. If I'm Justin Fields I'm a very happy man right now.- NFL 2022-2023: The Bad Man is Gone
The Panthers mortgaged the farm to move up 8 spots. They traded their #9 pick, their #61 pick, a 2024 1st round, a 2025 2nd round, and WR DJ Moore to the Bears for the #1 pick. If Bryce Young (I'm assuming they're taking Bryce Young, I suppose it could be CJ Stroud)) turns out to be a legit franchise QB then I guess it's worth it, but damn, that's a lot to give up for a player that might turn out to be great.- What are you Playing Now? Challenge of 5 Gauntlets (2018) - I'm back for another film from Pennsylvanian schlock auteur Len Kabasinski. A desperate father of a daughter who fell ill with a mysterious sickness that no modern medicine can cure turns to an archaeologist/martial arts master to track down a mythical relic that purportedly has the power to heal. He must defeat 5 keepers tasked with protecting the relic which leads him on a globetrotting adventure. By "globetrotting" I mean Pennsylvania dressed up to look like foreign lands. Of the 4 Len Kabasinski movies I've seen, this is the only one where he plays the lead. In the other 3 movies of his that I've seen he was either a villain or just had a cameo. For better or worse, this is the most competent movie of his I've seen. The cinematography was clearly done by someone who knew what they were doing (there is a bit of shaky cam, but it's used very sparingly) and the sound mixing is solid throughout (something I can't say for some of his earlier works). There are also very very few terrible digital effects, again, for better or worse. This movie also has Leo Fong, known to RLM watchers as "Low Blow". The movie's relative competence does deprive the viewer of some of the humor of Len's older terrible movies. It's by no means good, but it's not bad enough to be hilarious, unfortunately. There are some decent fight scenes, though, all things considered.- Funny Stuff: If you tell a joke in the forest, but nobody laughs, was it a joke?

Ultimately, I don't much care what the GPU looks like, where my case sits on the ground you can't really see inside it anyway. The bigger issue is paying a premium above the reference card in exchange for -0.5% performance.- Picture of Your Games the 15th

Not a huge fan of the art style (mainly the characters, the environments look fine), but otherwise I'm pretty excited for this. Battletech was kinda meh, but the Shadowrun games were terrific, hence I have faith in HBS.- What are you Playing Now? It's not how you play the game, it's how you place the blame
For my part, once I started using the Linux specific CTD fix it's been smooth sailing. In the 40+ hours since I started using that fix I've had exactly 2 crashes (not counting the CTD I just recently had where I purposely DIDN'T use the fix, for science) and they were freezes where I had to Alt+Tab out and manually force a shutdown of the game, which is unlike the CTDs I had when fast traveling before I started using the fix. 2 crashes in 40+ hours is acceptable in my book. That said, waiting is a good idea if you have the patience. You get a more stable product and you may get it at a discount to boot.- Radeon Thread
It looks like someone vomited a rainbow onto a GPU.🤣- Random video game news... RNG says "Nope"
16 times the detail! Jokes aside, I really hope this turns well. I have been giving Bethesda a lot of **** for well over a decade, but I would really love to see them make another game on the level of Morrowind.- What are you Playing Now? It's not how you play the game, it's how you place the blame
Having played with the companions mod a bit, I have some thoughts: Pros * No instability issues or weird graphical glitches introduced so far. * The companions actually comment on things going on around them, which was unexpected, but welcome. I'm assuming the way this was achieved was by having them speak lines that my character would have said otherwise. Cons * You can't dress them up. I think the easiest way to implement this would be to have a button in the same menu that you use to summon/banish them labeled "Copy Appearance" or whatever and it copies your character's current appearance to the companion. This way you dress yourself up how you want them to look, press the button, then you could change yourself to whatever you want. * Companions don't ride brooms. This is especially disappointing since I roll with Imelda who's the best broom rider besides me. I'm not sure how difficult that would be to program into the mod.- Picture of Your Games the 15th
Holy crap, I get to ride a graphorn? This game just keeps getting better!- What are you Playing Now? It's not how you play the game, it's how you place the blame
I had it CTD on the 3rd time I fast traveled, given that I didn't have that happen a single time in probably 40 hours of playing while using I'd say that they didn't fix the fast travel CTD issue. Not a big deal for me, since I can just use that command. I imagine there has to be a Windows version of that max map count CTD fix, I just haven't looked into it since I have no reason to. As an aside, I wish I could play dress up with my companion. I feel weird running around with my super fashionable threads while my girl Imelda is wearing a plain robe.- What are you Playing Now? It's not how you play the game, it's how you place the blame
@LadyCrimsonFor science I'll try running the game with out using the Linux-specific CTD fix I'll fast travel a bunch to test it, since I have not been getting any CTDs since I started using the fix and fast travel is what gave me CTDs before.- Picture of Your Games the 15th
I decided to give the companions mod a try. Now I roll with my girl Imelda:- Funny Stuff: If you tell a joke in the forest, but nobody laughs, was it a joke?
