I'm not worried about the moonstone. I don't know why they even bothered making it a resource when it's so ludicrously ubiquitous. I've never come close to running out of it.

I got the phoenix (there's only 1 in the game): I wasn't expecting a 4th vivarium, but I'll take it. Now I just need a unicorn and a graphorn to complete the collection.

What are you Playing Now? It's not how you play the game, it's how you place the blame
I take back what I said about the last broom upgrade. While it doesn't increase max speed by a lot, it substantially decreases the rate at which I drain the turbo boost and also increases the height at which the turbo boost refills. With max broom upgrades I can effectively use turbo boost indefinitely, which is awesome.

What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
Spring is here in Cackalacky, though, to be fair, we didn't have much of a winter. It's an absolutely glorious day and I spent a decent chunk of it at the park. Now I'm relaxing on the balcony sipping on Scotch whisky, like God intended.🥃

Zupa ogórkowa: 😘 Lessons learned for next time: 1) Use more carrot to balance out the sourness of the pickles a bit more. I want the soup to be sour, but slightly less sour than it came out. 2) A slice of rye bread would go perfectly with this. Still, definitely a success. It's not quite as good as my dad's zupa ogórkowa, but that's a really high bar to clear. I'm a lot more proficient at cooking Polish soups than I am Asian soups. I mean, I grew up on this stuff.

The Wo Long reviews seem to be mostly positive. https://www.destructoid.com/reviews/review-wo-long-fallen-dynasty/ https://www.pcgamer.com/wo-long-fallen-dynasty-review/ https://hardcoregamer.com/reviews/review-wo-long-fallen-dynasty/437830/ It's on GamePass, so I have no reason to not try it... Once I can pry myself away from Hogwarts Legacy. Side note: The ladies call me Wo Short.😖

I'm with Dagoth Ur, I got triggered by Nerevar's cluttered desktop. I hate desktop icons, I pin my often used stuff to the taskbar on top (#TopTaskbarMasterRace) and/or have keyboard shortcuts. Everything else I launch from the menu.

Arx Fatalis is a game I have very fond memories of. I'm afraid to try to play it again all these years later because I fear it may not hold up. I'd rather leave those rose tinted glasses on. Edit: I got the last broom upgrade in Hogwarts Legacy, I now have maximum broom. Honestly, it's a bit underwhelming. The first broom upgrade seemed to be the biggest, each one after that made barely any difference in max speed. I'll take it, though.

Burning Paradise (1994) - Hong Kong cinema kung fu goodness. It's got all the tropes of classic wuxia with the Shaolin as the good guys and the Manchus as the villains. There are pervy monks, we got a hilariously oversized sword, a flying guillotine, a death temple/prison lined with skulls and corpses and with enough traps to make Indiana Jones consider a trip to China. There's plenty of quality gore and the main villain is wonderfully cartoonishly evil. There's even a token romance plot. This movie's got it all.

@LadyCrimsonI believe I completed the Merlin Trial you had trouble with: I had no problem with it. I used Depulso to jump the ramp with the boulder. The key is getting the boulder set up in the right spot in front of the ramp. You can body block the boulder to stop it from rolling, run ahead of it after you push it with Depulso to stop it in the right spot. I wound up stopping the boulder a bit too far from the ramp, so I did a second Depulso after the initial push to make sure the boulder cleared the gap.

It's 2023, it's been scientifically proven* that gender is but a construct fabricated by the evil patriarchy as a means of control. Get with the times. * Scientific proof not actually available

What You've Done Today - Keep Dreaming...
My sister and her fiancé are planning a trip to a beach resort in Colombia for both the families later this year. With this in mind, it would behoove me to know at least some Spanish. Hence, I am starting to learn Spanish via the Duolingo app, on account of it being free and me being a cheapskate.

My biggest issue with FFXV was the story. The boy band was great, had the game just been a boner comedy about 4 chums going on a wacky road trip, it could have been awesome. The main story was an absolute disaster in how it was told IMHO. The pacing was horrendous. Granted, it's nigh impossible to do proper pacing in an open(ish) world game since there's nothing stopping the player from forgetting about the main quest and ****ing off for 20 hours. Still, FFXV was particularly egregious in this regard. Characters would just suddenly appear in the story and act like I'm supposed to know who they are, then I wouldn't see them again for a quarter of the game. At one point a character dies and it's supposed to be this big emotional scene and I'm like "oh no, it's... wait, who is tha? Oh, it's that guy, whatever his name was, that I met for all of 10 seconds 8 hours ago and never saw again, I'm so heartbroken". It felt like a lot of important story was cut from FFXV and the game still wound up being too long. I shudder to think how bloated the original plan was.

This is the best Merlin Trial I've done so far: The receptacle is at the top of that hill in the middle of the picture, the boulder in the ravine below, but that grade is way too steep to go up directly. So I took the long way around. Then it was a matter of finding the right spot to drop the boulder from. This trial would have been hell with Depulso because you have to go a looooong way around, so I used Wingardium Levioso.

It's the EPIC MUSIC playing over decidedly not epic stuff happening. It's the actor playing Wendy, who is shown more than anyone else, having the same exact facial expression in every shot. Also, while Peter Pan was kinda schlongsure in previous adaptations, he comes off as straight up smug to me in that trailer.

Not specific to that particular trial, but, while the roll the boulder trials were clearly designed to be done with Depulso, you can also manipulate the boulders with Wingardium Levioso: I think doing the trials with Depulso is more fun, but Wingardium Levioso gives you much more control.

Dragon Range and Phoenix APUs should be in the wild shortly. Phoenix are the chips I'm interested in. I imagine they'll show up in ultrathin laptops before they show up in microPCs and handhelds (which is what I'm potentially looking at). The 1080p handheld dream is (potentially) almost here. /rubs hands together
