I mean, those 2 CUs will probably run Nethack at 8K at like 120 FPS.
-
Yeah, I guess it will just be easier to call them Phoenix rather than 7040 series because the numbering scheme is Intel level of unintuitive and confusing. Anyway, I'm surprised these got announced as soon as they did, given that the 6800U and 6900HX Zen3/RDNA2 APUs only recently hit the market.

For most folks here, the 3D V-Cache CPUs will be of highest interest. The 7040 series Zen4/RDNA3 APUs are of most interest to me for a handheld or miniPC in the future.

I guess I'll only post single sentence posts with no formatting whatsoever from now on, like God intended. -

Glass Onion - I'm not sure if I fell asleep or zoned out or what, but there's a significant chunk of the middle of the movie I either didn't see, or don't remember, or something. I didn't care enough to go back and watch the part I missed. I did get a bit of entertainment out of Daniel Craig's hilariously bad southern accent, though. -

Since I'm on an isometric kick I scooped Pathfinder: WotR to play after I finish my current run of Grim Dawn. I'm assuming I don't need to play Kingmaker first (I haven't), right? -
I reached the underground transit, Warden Krieg isn't far now. I'm playing on veteran difficulty and while I wouldn't call my build full-on glass cannon, it's definitely glass cannon adjacent. With that in mind, I've gotten horrifically murdered quite a few times already (whereas with some other builds and on regular difficulty I didn't have my first death until after Warden Krieg), the latest of which was in the warden's cellar. It was one of those shrines that drops a bunch of good loot but you have to clear a bunch of tough monsters that spawn when you click on it, so I knew I was in for a tough fight. I was proactive and dropped a couple of glyphs on the ground near the shrine, then activated it. I was not prepared for what happened next. They dropped like 5 hero monsters, 2 of which were summoners, and 10 tough monsters into the (relatively small) room. Suddenly there were like 50 ***holes right on top of me. Needless to say, I died very abruptly.

I won't bother trying to post my indepth review of Lady Terminator any more. I'll just write that it's The Terminator: Indonesian Mysticism Edition and that there's a vagina snake. If that doesn't convince people to watch it, I don't know what will. -
I'm playing Grim Dawn again. At this point most of you are already aware that the game is awesome. This time around I'm running a Purifier, guns akimbo style. I've mainly been investing in Inquisitor and have only dipped into Demolitionist to get Fire Strike to replace my default attack. My attack speed is already ludicrous and it's only going to get more ludicrous.

It's Lady Terminator (1988) and it's a pretty good terrible movie. I'd write more about it but this forum software is awful. I have a whole 3 paragraph writeup of it that I can't post because reasons. -

What do you get when you combine Indonesian mysticism and a Terminator knockoff? -
Ugh, I'm so conflicted. I was perfectly content with muh Boys being the #5 seed and losing to the garbage team that least loses the NFC South in the wild card round. However, with the Eagles again slipping on a banana peel there is a scenario where Dallas is the #1 seed and gets the bye, meaning we get to have our customary exit from the playoffs a week later. So, do I root for the Vikings to essentially eliminate serial Cowboy murderer Aaron Rodgers from the playoff hunt or do I root for... I can't possibly bring myself to root for the Packers.

I just got back from Christmas vacation down in southern Florida. I'm too lazy to cook and I'm not going back on the diet right away so I'm eating a Margherita pizza from Simonetti's and drinking beer.

I also watched Bullet Train and it was thoroughly enjoyable goofy action schlock. My kind of movie. I later watched the Nic Cage Massive Talent movie, which was decidedly less fun than Bullet Train, but still a decent enough watch with some moments that got me to chuckle. Lastly, I watched The Gray Man which was about as bog standard a Bourne Identity clone as possible. Not bad, per se, but utterly forgettable. -

@BartimaeusEverything turned up roses for the Packers. They won and every single team they need to leapfrog lost. Inexplicably, they can still make the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers is going to sneak into the playoffs so that he can murder muh Boys yet again, isn't he?
-
With yesterday's win over a Minshew-led Eagles and the Giants loss to the Vikings, muh Boys are essentially locked in the #5 seed. We can't fall any lower than that and the combination for us to take the division of both us winning out and the Eagles losing their last 2 is extremely unlikely. We'll be losing to whatever terrible team comes out of the NFC South come January.

I'm at the airport waiting for my flight. First time flying since at least a year before COVID. Charlotte Douglas International hasn't changed a bit. I got here 2 hours before boarding in case checking in and TSA took long, but the staff here is doing a great job keeping everything moving. As far as airports go, Charlotte Douglas is pretty nice. I made sure to get a nonstop flight both ways, I don't want to do a layover in Atlanta. Maybe Atlanta's airport has gotten better since my last visit there, but last time sucked pretty hard. Anyway, off to southern Florida I go for Christmas on the beach. Also, happy birthday @ShadySands!

I think @Bartimaeussent some arctic weather down to me because the temperature is plummeting here in Cackalacky. Hasn't Aaron Rodgers hurt me enough? Et tu, @Bartimaeus? Anyway, joke's on you because tomorrow morning I get on a plane headed for southern Florida.

Picked up Valheim again. It's been a very long time since I last played so I made a new character (named him Beefstick) in a new world. I haven't bothered reading changelogs, I'll discover what's been added and changed as I go. I was almost instantly reminded just how lovely the game looks despite the pixelated and lowpoly aesthetic. The lighting effects are just fantastic. I don't remember if there was gamepad support last time I played, but it feels super comfy playing with a gamepad.

It's owned by the company but I drive the same truck every day, typically for 2 to 3 years, then I get a newer model. The trailer I pull may change daily but the tractor stays the same.
