I didn't get to watch the second half because on the east coast the late Monday game is on so late that I'd either be late for work or a zombie the next day if I were to watch the whole thing. Did the Bolts go into the prevent in the 4th? Because I find that's the fastest and most efficient way to blow a lead.

Yeah, but it's getting to the point where they have to sell about 7 million copies just to break even. Less than a hundred games have ever sold 7 million or more copies. That's in the entire history of video games. As far as I heard GTA 5 made it's money back from preorders. Oh, I'm sure GTA 5 will do fine. There are going to be success stories even with these ridiculously bloated budgets, and spectacular success stories, which is what's going to keep driving these budgets up. The problem is that as the budgets keep going up the percentage of failures is going to increase and the losses these failures incur will continue to increase too. There is only so much money to be made per year by the video game industry as a whole, because there is only so much money people are able to spend. As budgets go higher and higher the amount of money necessary for the game to be profitable, or just break even, increases, but the amount of money to be made out there doesn't, or not at nearly the same pace as the rising budgets. You'll always have your massive success stories here and there which will entice publishers to keep funding these giant bloated productions, because when they pay off, they pay off big time, but the failures will become more and more frequent and more and more spectacular, to the point where the occasional massive success story will not be able to offset the slew of spectacular failures. Or maybe I'm overthinking this.

You could see that ending coming from a mile away, yet it was still tense and thrilling. ****, that was a great episode! The way I see it

Can this industry crash already. It will happen eventually, soon at the rate they're going. AAA games can't keep going like this, the budgets are getting so out of hand that they're reaching the point where it will become straight up impossible to make money off these games, even if they sell 10 or even 15 million copies. The video game version of the 2008 stock market crash is coming, and honestly, I say let it come.

I have. Several times.

English? Sure. They'd get slaughtered by New Zealanders, though. /hides

They had opportunity after opportunity after opportunity to grind out a drive and ice the game and they failed every time. The only reason they won is because Manning threw yet another pick. They didn't close out anything, the G-Men handed them that win, even after the Cowboys tried to hand it back again and again and again. There is a difference between closing a game out and having a game handed to you. I've been watching the Cowboys for decades. In the last several years it's been the same story again and again. They get a lead and head into the 4th. At this point a good team would grind out a 6 or 7 minute capped off by a score which would kill the clock and ice the game. The Cowboys regularly fail to do this and more often than not lose because of it. The Giants simply tried to lose harder than the Cowboys this time around.

Playing Of Orcs and Men. After having played for a bit yesterday, I started a new game on Hard difficulty today and was more careful in how I chose and upgraded my skills, now that I understand the system to some degree. The game could stand to be A LOT less linear and some of the invisible walls make me want to choke someone out. With that said, I'm having a good time with the game so far. I really like the combat system. It's basically turn-based, but time never completely stops. There's a decent bit of tactics to it too with timing attacks so that the goblin applies vulnerabilities to targets just before the orc takes advantage and smashes them to bits with massive power attacks. Also, tossing a goblin will never be not fun. The voice acting for the two main characters is surprisingly good too, especially the goblin. The rest of the cast, not so much. I kind of hope this could turn into a series. There's some definite potential here, though nowhere near fully realized in this game.

Cowboys won tonight... No that's not right. They lost less than the Giants. Good Gawd that was an ugly game. As usual, the Cowboys couldn't close a game out in the 4th quarter, it's just that the Giants wanted the loss more. As an aside, why do defensive coordinators continue to run the prevent defense? It literally fails every time. Every ****ing time!

If I was making a Cthulhu-themed game I'd probably hire this hypothetical person.

No.

None of the information in this article is really new, but it still gives me wood.

Starting up a game of Of Orcs and Men. Just getting my feet wet, but I like it so far. Then again, I am an Orc-o-phile, so putting me in control of an Orc and a Goblin is automatic bonus points.

Brofist and flak jacket?

Like many jRPGs, Septerra Core gets quite tedious after a while.

Here's some Shantae: Risky's Revenge gameplay for those that have never seen the series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmnuqaiOs5o

Honestly, at this point, I'd rather they keep making Risen games. The first Risen game was great until the final 15-20%, which was just plain tedious. Risen 2 was a bit of a letdown, but still a good game. I honestly like the direction they went with for Risen 2, going with the pirate motif and all, they just didn't execute it nearly as well as I had hoped. I hope they keep going in that direction.

Realistically the division crown is already out of reach for the Rays, you just don't make up 7 1/2 games in 3 weeks. Mathematically it could still happen, but the chances are exceedingly slim. The way I see it, the Sawx are heading for 97 wins (11-8 in their final 19 games seems realistic and maybe even somewhat conservative), that number is definitely out of reach for the Rays (they would have to go a blistering 20-2), especially if they keep pulling a 2011 Sawx (it's a painful joke to make, but one I had to). Only sweeping the Sawx would give the Rays even the smallest glimmer of hope. Presumably it will be Buchholz starting for the first game of the series (nice way to get tossed right into the fire in his return), who would the Rays be sending out on Tuesday?
-
Sawx keep trying to help the Rays out by breaking the Yankees' backs... Who am I kidding, helping out the Rays is an unintended side effect, breaking the Yankees' backs is a labour of love. While no definitive announcement has been made, there were no setbacks in Buchholz's final rehab start and he showed good velocity and command. Presumably, he'll make his return on Tuesday.

Yup, just black dye. I think it works really well with the pink and the green.
