Ouch. $25 entry point to get the game, that's not going to help them get backers.

How many [Rings]?
Keyrock replied to Osvir's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
4 rings - 2 on each hand. -
Better than 98% of AAA games:

As an aside, if Left 4 Dead 3 doesn't wind up being called Left 3 Dead, I'll be very disappointed.

And now, here's the chinchilla dustbath gif you didn't know you wanted:

I fully expect this. I expect it to be a SteamBox exclusive for, I'm guessing, 6 months. If you're going to launch a console-like-thingy, you need an exclusive killer title to sell it. It doesn't get much more killer than Half-Life 3.

Wow, I've seen some thread necromancy in my day, but 9 1/2 years takes the cake. /pats Sargallath on the back Project Eternity is what brought me here. I stayed because the community is mostly non-a-holes, which is nice.

La Mulana is 80% off on Steam. Looks like I'm in for some punishment this weekend.

Aww.

I used a 360 pad for everything except shooting. As soon as a firefight would break out (which didn't happen very often), I would drop the controller and use m&kb. The nice thing is that the game would recognize the switch and even change on-screen prompts accordingly.

Yep. It's a browser game so there's nothing to buy (up front) and nothing to download. It even runs fine on my ancient Pentium 4 at work.

Sorta kinda There are these checkpoint-ish spots called "bonfires" that give you 5 healing items, heal you, and respawn all the enemies whenever you rest at them. If you want to increase the amount of healing items they'll give upon resting, you need to turn into your human form. Same thing when you want some co-op help "What does human form do?" It makes you vulnerable to invasions, which is forced kind of PvP. The only way to end an invasion is either killing the enemy, die, or go through a boss door. So in order to make the game easier through healing items or proper help, you must also make it riskier. You can make it so that you only spend around 0-5% of your time in human form, or play offline if you really dislike PvP. You'll however lose the JOLLY CO-OPERATION though As long as it's not one of those deals where pvp can happen any time and you have high level d-bags camping people in low level areas and just killing them over and over again, I'm fine with that. Also, if someone goes into "human form" do you have to invade and fight someone? Can you instead come up to them, give them a hug, and say "let's be friends"?

Sure is.

Man, the NFC East is awful. 6-10 might just win the division.

The SteamBox cometh. Also, on that page, below the blue circle, there are 3 circles.

Do you HAVE TO pvp? Because I'd just as soon "miss out" on that aspect of the game.

I'll help you out, melkathi. Alan Wake will most likely be a disappointment to you. That should narrow down your choice.

At what level did you get the power tokens? I haven't gotten any yet, and I have a few items that require them. I'm lev 5 now.

They talked about switching from <horrific Microsoft "service" that shall not be named> to Steamworks for Dark Souls before <horrific Microsoft "service" that shall not be named> officially bites the dust. When that happens I may scoop it up myself, as <horrific Microsoft "service" that shall not be named> is the main reason I've not gotten it yet.

John Farrell has some decisions to make regarding the postseason rotation. If he goes with a 4 man rotation, then it's cut and dry. Lester, Buchholz, Lackey, and Peavey, in some order. If he goes with a 3 man rotation, then you have Lester for sure, and 2 of the other 3. Buchholz was arguably the best pitcher in the majors before he went down with injury, but he's only had 2 starts since coming back so it's hard to know exactly what you got with him. He looked impressive in his first start back and gave up no runs in a win. He struggled with his control early on in his second start back, but only gave up 1 run and got stronger as the night wore on, and also got a W. He's likely got 2 starts left before the season is over so those will go a long way toward him securing a spot in the postseason rotation. Peavey has been solid since joining the Sawx, he's experienced, and you know he'll keep you in the game and get you to the late innings. He looked straight up dominant in his last outing for the first 4 innings, before giving up 3 runs and ultimately getting a no decision. Lackey pitched a 2 hit, 1 run, complete game gem his last time up, carrying a no-hitter into the 7th. He's been good all year long. I guess the "we've got a rotation full of quality starters we need to choose from to shorten the rotation" decision is a much preferable to "we've got a couple shaky starters, which one do we put in the last postseason rotation spot?"

In happier news, and speaking of Broken Age, in their latest update they announced that the first half of the game has gone into alpha. Basically, they said it was playable from beginning to end, but needs lots of testing and polish.

your party is almost identical to my first one soon Gary will give you 80 slices of pizza to buy a new figurine. don\t repeat my mistake and just buy the one that looks the best. you can only change your figurines with ones of the same race and class. I had to start a whole new party just to have my new skeletal warrior in it I already did. Grizzelda's figurine, in that picture, is the one I bought. The original one had her with an axe and a shield. I bought this one because it looked more cleric-y. Also, because she's got sweet braids. Edit: Also, you need to post some pictures, or at least give me their names.

That does look really good.

Don't expect the guns to change anything. 90% of the time it's hand-to-hand and you don't even get to keep the guns permanently. I love the combat in SD personally. Yeah. You do get guns eventually, but Sleeping Dogs is a love letter to Hong Kong cinema, hence it's highly geared toward martial arts combat. Luckily, I found the combat to be quite satisfying. Sure, you can beat everybody up with 2 buttons, but it's a lot more fun to pull off different moves and combos and beat them up in style. Also, shoving a guy's face into a deep fryer will never get old.
