The (un)usefullness of mages

There was a long discussion with one of the devs - characters will run out of spells during fights if the idea doesn't radically change before they start programming it. So basically, mages are going to be nerfed like usual, sucks for us who play mage characters...like usual. Last I heard Project Eternity was going to be a party based game. Heh you should wrote that bolder and with larger font size Also one does not simply call Edwin, Irenicus, Tiax! useless! -
Once upon a time consoles cartered good RPGs and tactical combat games. Like Chrono Trigger/Cross, earlier FFs, Shadowrun, Ogre Tactics. But with "new" consoles those game types vanished or become a joke like new FFS. There are only a handfull of "decent" console RPGs nowadays and nearly all of them are action oriented. I would like to see someone light that fire again but that shouldnt be Obsidian. Maybe just a huge strech goal like after 4 million dollars.

Well my best memories are in some NWN modules and WoW RP servers. Also i miss my full time RPing "Thieves Guild" in Ulitma online most of the time, we were such heartless bastards :/ -

Yes, all ammunition should be limited. But they need to stack better than IE games, 1000 arrows in a stack is a better way methinks. -

"Internet People" are generaly too much emotional and sensetive on small things therefore they cannot see the big picture. Most of them are naive enough to believe there will be perfect products just build for themselves and every otherones options are invalid. They usually use unnecessary, harsh, overprotective tones while try to correct "The wrong ones on internet" That thing usually hard to understand is, it's impossible to please everyone and if anyone try that they fail pretty hard. -

Level scaling confirmed

No, it's not. There is not only one way to have level scaling in your game. This! It wont be a stupid design if it'd done properly and not overused. Unlike Bethesda games. -
For 3 millon they give us ship building options. Starting with a little trireme king and upgrading it till it become a full frigate. We can manage our captain and crew, travel some small islands, battle sea monsters, pirates and maybe even raid coastal towns if we wish. For 3.5(or 4) million add a whole new continent that only WE can discover. It can include new races with different soul mechanics, new monsters, new resources, new adventrures Add some musical, graphical, writer geniuses for minor milestones. Also just no for tun based... im a turn based nut myself too but we really dont need that in PE, there are already very good turn based games coming in 2013-2014. And if they strcitly follow IE and D&D style game actually becomes turn based with pause options.

I think they are going to follow NWN2 /ToEE aproach. NPCs that tag along with you for some quests/lplot events. -

I always like FO 1-2 s death animations. Especially "lead dance to death" Im OK for Eternity if they have none at all but if they gonna add that i would like to see something similar to FO. Melting/burning/disentegrating magic, decapitations/flying body parts with swords/axes. Also they can copy some from Braveheart

Identifying found items

I think its best to use a side skill similar as Lore for identifying artefacts. Minor magical items should be known by some cultures but not all. And if we dont have any groupie with Lore we can always ask some with vast knowladge.
