  1. Pretty sure there will be humor in the game. But hopefully not "humor" of the kind you'd find in South Park or Borderlands.
  2. Hmm, maybe someone can correct me but since you don't even seem to have a Backer Badge you might want to contact support. Or did you pledge just now? In that case I'd wait a little longer.
  3. I don't get this last sentence, could you elaborate? Do you mean to say the 2D parts (the drawn backgrounds) do not look beautiful? What exactly looks dated and in comparison to what? I just have a hard time understanding why you are disapointed or what it is you were expecting. Because to me this looks exactly like what OE set out do, make a modern day Infinity Engine RPG.
  4. Nice Interview, as I've come to expect from the Codex. This answer has me a bit concerned/puzzled though: The answer doesn't give any examples, so where exactly does that leave us? Should I deduce from this that we're only left with simple Fighters front, Archers in the back, attack-move scenarios or just that there are no/very few/few heavily scripted encounters i.e. beating war drums, reenforcements arriving after enemy X is slain, exploding barrels, etc...?
  5. Wha...? Wasteland 2? Better looking then PoE? I backed W2 and have seen all screenshots to date, so I can say with certainty that this is ridiculously false. I will stop myself from comparing DOS and PoE next right here, suffice to say that imo DOS is getting quite a bit overhyped.
  6. Eh, I would hope that the "hardcore RPG fan" wouldn't want to be cought dead with a copy of DA:I. Each time I stumble on news of the game it gets more embarrassing. So, yeah I expect it to sell reasonably well, afterall Bioware has gained a certain "following" the past years, but surely not because of its high RPG exellency.
  7. This is only one of the possible heads for Death Godlike. We were shown others during one of the updates and those heads were much smaller. There is still a very alien look to the Death Godlike, but I think that's actually a good thing. Death is meant to look frightening, not just "whelp, I got a bit pale-ish skin and maybe dark eyes". Eh, even so I will say that in my opinion they went a little overboard with the horn on that version of the Death Godlike. I think even at half the size it would still get the point across. Looking at him at an unfavorable angle he looks like one of the aliens from the movie Coneheads.
  8. What is this? Are you a bot? go to the wiki page for race http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Pillars_of_Eternity_Wiki I see, helping out the OP with a Wiki link repost 3 months too late. Okay.
  9. What is this? Are you a bot?
  10. Oh please, get off your soapbox and stop being so dramatic. Just say what you don't like and stop invoking "the community", you don't speak for me.
  11. You really saved yourselves from getting an earfull from me there. I was about to write an excessive whine post when I saw the announcement on Facebook that you could get some Hands-on time with PoE at Gamescom. I had sworn to myself to not return there, as the trains are overloaded, the Halls are always filled to the brim and you have to wait hours in line to get your 10mins of allotted gametime. With this, you have saved me from that hell and I still get to play. Best of thanks.
  12. Oh, nice! You're paying?
  13. Hahaha, no. Just because a bunch of turbo nerds like us have head about PoE during the Kickstarter phase doesn't mean the average Steam buyer has ever heard of PoE before. Wasteland 2 got in the Top 10 (or was it Top 5?) of Steam sales for a while when it went on early access and with the actual release, daily sales and bundles there is still a big sales potential for them there. I know several forums where it seems abundantly clear that on Steam (and GoG too) there are huge numbers of people who almost compulsively buy new games / games that are on sale.
  14. Mmmmh, love what I'm reading about the Barbarian here. Question: The Death Godlike supposedly does increased damage as his enemies health drops, now would this ability apply to the damage dealt to the extra attacks made from carnage or do these attacks only deal base damage? PS: I completely understand why OE don't want the E3 video or any video at this stage of development to be released. As we know some animations are still choppy and VFX are still at an early stage. Any video realeased now would be circulated by the gaming press and now that the game is supposed to be in beta i can already imagine the Youtube comments deriding the "****ty graphics". Better to wait some more then to muddy some peoples first impression.
  15. As far as I know Josh has previously stated that PoE ist a low-mid level campaign. So I guess levels are roughly equivalent in power to levels in D&D.
  16. Wow, nice **** talking by Mr. Robinson there, wonder who he "heard" from. I think it is meant to be joke as Fredrik Wester is CEO of Paradox Interactive, Obsidian's publisher partner for PoE and company which booth PoE was showed in E3 Meh, and I got all butthurt about it too....
  17. Wow, nice **** talking by Mr. Robinson there, wonder who he "heard" from.
  18. Don't understand why this discussion still persists when Bryy pointed out all the important points on the first page. Not only does OE not have the capacity right now, more importantly the cost of creating a "traditional" MMORPG like WoW is prohibitively high. Besides what any of us fans want, without BIG Publisher dollars there is no chance in hell.
  19. Maybe I am being Captain Obvious here, but isn't our Meteorite/Adra chunk the same formation we can see in the PoE Logo? Edit: Too slow
  20. Did I say anything about unlimited access? Did I demand anything? If there is any kind of coverage during or shortly after E3 that is all I'm hoping for. But to me it sounded like any kind of coverage made at E3 would not be released at all until Obsidian chose to do it themselves. Well, like I just said now, I don't demand to have any and all info revealed to me but this is E3 after all. And considering how much further along Eternity is now and how big a media spectacle E3 usually is, I wouldn't have been surprised if there were some extra scraps to pick up for us.
  21. Yes, very nice update. Game just looks fantastic now, moreso then before. Spiffy winged helmet on that guard there. Btw. indirect confirmation of fire godlike as playable race? Only one point of grievance: Do I understand that right? You'll be at E3 show of footage and talk to the press but all behind closed doors? Meaning we (the fans) will get nothing out of it, neither directly or indirectly via the media? Except for some pics of the event several weeks later?
  22. Obsidian, more like Obsidifraud!
  23. Opinion discarded. With all this talk it sounds to me like you just want some cinematic bullet time. I really don't see the need/benefit of all of this when we, like Sensuki already mentioned, got conditional pause/slow triggers. Who's the audience for this RTwP "evolution"?
  24. Just? Huh, to me, getting new video material is as far as I dared to hope. In hindsight it's true, but it honestly didn't occur to me before that you could search for all the exibitors on the official E3 website.
  25. So, since Paradox is taking up the mantle as Eternitys publisher and therefore now responsible for all things marketing, how big are the chances that there will be somekind of PoE presence at E3? Maybe just a general press release with some stock screenshots? Interviews? New stuff? Or am I perhaps uninformed and Paradox is usually never present at E3? Speculation is welcome, hard facts even more so!
