  1. I could swear that in the first Witcher they used the same model for every woman. Suppose they must have been short on game assets, or something like that.
  2. There is no problem that can't be solved in 40th millenium by a high powered bolter and a good suit of power armor. When the only tool you have is a high powered bolter, every problem looks like a fleshy alien pod.
  3. Personally I'd much rather have 20 hours of quality additions than 40 hours of meaningless hack-n-slay.
  4. You're right, that called for a square response...
  5. It seems somebody is a little bitter...
  6. What about a Life Pacifist run: try to avoid killing living creatures, but you can slay as many vessels and undead spirits as you like.
  7. I get the sense that they're nebulous (cloud-like) entities that have sufficient integrity to possess a unique identity and store information.
  8. Well not quite; the effectiveness of the longbow against plate armor remains a point of some debate. Where the longbow proved effective at Crécy was against the unarmored horse used to transport the heavily armored knights. But we don't even see mounted knights in PoE, so massed warfare could be quite different in this setting.
  9. I have received a game that was completely free of bugs. It was called chess. Apparently it's considered a classic now.
  10. All it really needs is sufficient VO to provide some emotional feel for the characters you're dealing with. Personally I'd like to see more animated ambiance; cities and towns with more people moving about and doing things. PoE felt almost deserted.
  11. Meh. Not everybody is going to like it. That's just the nature of personal preference. I thought the setting was fine.
  12. Finally managed to watch The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumbercatch managed to make a surprisingly interesting portrayal of a brilliant character with (probably) Asperger's syndrome. Also saw Mockingjay, which felt a little tedious despite all the action.
  13. What the twentieth century taught us is that political groups can successfully promote their agendas by manipulating and controlling the media. Computer gaming is a logical extension of this practice.
  14. Coming dangerously close to being an adulterer...
  15. "Houston, you have a problem."
  16. I'd love to see an isometric, party-based version of Star Frontiers.
  17. I'm pretty happy with a number of these changes, particularly improvements to the stash and the inverted stronghold log. Still haven't seen a fix for the Lighthouse door blocking issues though. Thanks.
  18. IWD2 wasn't a bad game by any means, but it was more about combat than story. To me the strong points were the beautiful backgrounds, a fairly decent implementation of D&D v3, the diversity of unique and colorful items, and the glorious challenging combat. It was a fun game, but didn't replay well due to being relatively linear. And yes, there was some travel through the Underdark.
  19. By Aggro, do you mean like the Threat system used in Dragon Age? That always felt very artificial to me. I'd rather have a good monster AI system.
  20. There's a perception, probably a correct one, that properly implementing MP would both reduce the resources applied to the single-player experience, and compromise certain elements of the game. Hence, if you're a solitary player of a game, adding MP doesn't provide any benefit and it may do some harm. Those who provided funding with the understanding that it would be single player, would not be happy to see their funds spent on a mode they will never use. Personally I wouldn't mind if they retrofitted an MP capability after the game is polished up. But that may be difficult because it could take a lot of code changes and retesting.
  21. Survival could be allowed to significantly improve your travel time between wilderness areas, reducing fatigue effects. Conceivably it could reduce interrupts from elemental powers and attacks, given that your character is more knowledgeable about the elements.
