  1. Funny, but Mazzy was one of my favorite characters from BG2. She didn't feel that underdeveloped.
  2. A bonus to disengagement attacks with fast weapons would be a nice additional benefit. You have better control of your facing with a single-handed weapon and no shield, so you should be able to back out of combat more easily. Let that dagger-wielding rogue make hit and run attacks all over the battlefield.
  3. I'd like a sword that doesn't talk like a murderous psychopath. Perhaps even female. Something classy, like a countessa originally trained in the finer arts of sword play, with a deep background and some unique character flaws.
  4. It's a ship built for isometric gaming: a wide, open deck with plenty of walking space and few obstructions. The wood is worn and dull from exposure to the elements, but the ship is sturdy and gets you where you're going.
  5. Frankly, I've yet to play with an intelligent weapon that I really liked. For some reason they all seem to be made psychotic in nature, and hence quickly become unappealing to play with. Couldn't we have one that is cultured and refined, like a well aged wine?
  6. Cannons could fire chain-shot to take out the mast or rigging, bringing the opponent's ship to a halt so you could board.
  7. If our "stronghold" is moving about, I suppose we won't have the random visitors like we did in the PoE Stronghold. Also, presumably, no vendors. Maybe though we can have some crafting experts?
  8. I'd rather see nets. Whips are pretty limited weapons against armored opponents.
  9. I suspect that Alchemy was the model here. Animancy in PoE appears to get treated the same way as the Faustian image of certain Alchemical practices during Renaissance Europe. The practitioners weren't seen in the same positive light that came with the pursuit of Science during the Enlightenment. Animancers are mad scientists in pursuit of forbidden knowledge, and often do so through evil means.
  10. Could be the ship's figurehead. A thoroughly morose figurehead who is distraught about the fate of Caed Nua. She gets nauseous on the high seas, and off-color sea shanties sung by a troupe of drunken aumaua is the only thing that will lift her spirits. That and having the ship's cabin boy scrape the barnacles off her heaving bosom.
  11. I'm sure you're right, but I was just going by the image in update #16. Ed.: Actually, that looks a bit like a Cog.
  12. There look to be cannons on the ship, so presumably the extra companions are below decks firing during the approach.
  13. Hmm, where's my bunions of steel flag...
  14. Having a Cat Does not Cause Mental Illness, New Study Suggests
  15. Their pest-riddled hulk of a ship should be called Breaking Wind.
  16. No, it makes complete sense. But perhaps a plausible alternative would be to have them make a morale check and, if they fail, turn fearful and flee the battlefield.
  17. The Top 10 Luxury Perks of the Swankiest Doomsday Bunkers Looks like the one percent-ers are getting ready...
  18. If there's going to be a Stronghold, then perhaps its strength could be based on something other than massive fortifications? Perhaps a well-hidden sea cave large enough for a ship to dock inside, connected with a labyrinth of limestone chambers, some of which were previously shaped into living quarters. A secret base would be more fitting for a party is trying to hide from (or become) sea pirates. Of course, finding a way to expand it without revealing the secret will prove difficult. But possibly the party could rescue a group freed slave craftsmen who will willingly labor there for food and living quarters.
  19. The city needs a blind, legless beggar with a scruffy pet dog that can't stop scratching. He can read your soul for a few coins.
  20. A Vithrack, being a hideous-looking creature, should send people scurrying for cover in any normal city. But perhaps they could hire on as a crewmate and stay hidden under decks when in port? A Vithrack cook serving beetle au jus, for example, with a side of filet of soul. I wouldn't mind a few oddball crewmates for hire with a decent level of interaction and maybe a quest or two.
