Only a few hours in, not liking it much
rjshae replied to skyrimer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Having played it for 30 hours now, I must admit the second game doesn't interest me as much as the first. Hopefully it'll get better.

- Deadfire is too easy cuz quests gives you too much XP!
rjshae replied to Ogi79's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yes, level progress seems way too fast. It feels like they're catering to the young 'uns with repeated rewards for not much effort.- "Realms Beyond: Ashes of the Fallen" Now on Kickstarter

rjshae replied to rjshae's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The official opinion from selected serial killers is that humans taste like pork. So there you go, you can now skip the research. https://www.theguardian.com/science/the-lay-scientist/2010/sep/05/human-meat-taste-cannibal- Future projects for PoE
rjshae replied to juanval's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Agreed. Combat seems much more chaotic now compared to PoE. Limiting parties to 4 characters will make it even worse.- More Funny than ever (funny stuff topic)
What evidence is there that a scientist is a particularly well suited profession for a politician? Thomas Jefferson? Benjamin Franklin? Wehrner von Braun? Margaret Thatcher? Angela Merkel? Jimmy Carter? Herbert Hoover? Well maybe not the last.- Something vile in the stash

rjshae replied to skyrimer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I've played High Fantasy setting to death, so I'm enjoying the differences here. It's funny how some people complain loudly when it's the same old type of western fantasy setting, then others moan when it's something new. I guess you just can't please everybody. My biggest issue with the game is just the extremely slow load times for area transitions.- "Realms Beyond: Ashes of the Fallen" Now on Kickstarter

rjshae replied to rjshae's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)No ogres or zombies in my crew. Just good folks who run a clean, healthy ship.- So, ship combat - kind of rigged in favor of the enemies
rjshae replied to abaris's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I don't know about rigged, but the system makes absolutely no logical sense. If I take out the enemy sails, it still says the enemy ship is moving. I've had the ships pointed in opposite directions and yet they remain at the same range from each other. I guess they're circling each other? If I fire enough grapeshot to butcher the entire crew many times over, the enemy almost instantly recovers and keeps firing with the same efficacy. If I break contact then quickly re-engage, the enemy is completely repaired. It's getting silly.- Something vile in the stash
rjshae replied to rjshae's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, my Kind Wayfarer Paladin character is positively nauseous at this point.- Something vile in the stash
I don't want to sell it; just dump it. How do I do that? I can't move food from the stash to my personal inventory.- More Funny than ever (funny stuff topic)
- One question about naval combat
rjshae replied to xzar_monty's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)After a few naval battle's I'm starting to think that an approach using scaled-down version of the world map interface would be more enjoyable for the maneuvering aspects. The text-only interface quickly loses its appeal. - Weird. Random. Interesting.
