I'm perfectly fine with them delaying until next year. I just have a problem when armchair developers start making wild accusations. I especially have a problem when their reasoning is "because".
-
I understand you paid a lot of money. I did, too. But you're going to have to do better than "because I think so" when you make some really, really huge accusations. They did put the beta on Steam. People like things other people don't. Who knew.

People will complain either way.

Video games should do whatever the hell they want. I disagree. This is a business, they are trying to sell a product. They should do whatever their consumers want. Indie developers have a lot more leeway, but they still have to think is terms of marketability at some point. Otherwise making games is just a hobby. If they want to make make money; then go ahead and do that. .... what?

1) How do you know the release date? 2) How do you know it's an alpha. 3) You're talking about a time in which games were not a billion dollar industry. DA3 is an honest concern. Not everyone has infinite funds, nor wants to buy the same genre games all at once. PoE is going to get absolutely, 100% buried under all the talk of DA3 if it comes out in a month and some change. In short, I think you're just complaining to complain. I don't understand why people do this. I really don't.

Happy birthday, Chris!

All that I've heard of EviLore derives me to think that he is pretty disliked on the whole? He's the creator of the NeoGAF forum, so of course he has some haters, being in a position of power. At least I hope that's trolling. I can't keep it straight anymore who on these forums is wildly sexist and who isn't. But considering he made a thread earlier where he advocated for the killing of women just so they wouldn't be in your fictional games party.

I doubt kickstarter would generate enough to do a Star Trek game justice. I hope you're only referring to licencing fees. Well, yes and no, I would assume. A good Trek game would take a lot to be done right. Plus, I highly doubt CBS would allow one of their biggest licenses to go to the groundlings. For multiple reasons.

It was organized. Poorly organized, but organized just the same. Let's not defend BS because of semantics. There are no Moral Olympics here.

So glad I backed this. So many people thinking this is real and filling my belly with lulz.

US Gamer on mid-size studios: Obsidian Ent. included

Double Fine will never leave San Francisco. But given its financial issues lately, it really should. -
Seems like fan opinion is actually a pretty important aspect of determining which bugs are a big deal. Not really, no. Disagree. If the devs spend a lot of time fixing things that the fans don't care about, I'd call that a misalignment of priorities. Assuming the devs don't know what are game breaking bugs is really being the most annoying type of fanboy. Assuming that the devs always know what's most important to their fans is fairly deluded. My only point is fan opinion is an important factor. I'm not saying it's the only factor. You seem to think it isn't even a factor, and that's what I disagree with. I think we can really just draw this back to your whole notion that betas should be gooder.

So, Double Fine just cancelled Spacebase. A game already on Early Access. Going for $24.99. But they are leaving it up. Thus proving that they should not be trusted with money. Ever.

Just got to Act II. Completely, 100% different from Act I. So far, my favorite parts are the Honey Badgers, and that Nuke Grenades blow off clothing.
