  1. Paradox generated 1000 steamkeys that they distributed to youtube let's players and twitch streamers. They gave priority to people who had already been playing/streaming their other very recent title, Cities: Skylines. The guy from the video above is called arumba. A quick youtube search of "arumba skylines" netted this: So there is your explanation for why that guy got access. And honestly, that makes smart business sense.
  2. It's knee-jerk gamergate nonsense, mostly. Best to disregard. Well, yes and no. While the vast majority of it is GG nowadays, Kotaku has the nickname of Fox News of Video Game Journalism for a reason. They're sensationalists.
  3. Yeah, expecting MP in the expansion is most likely a lost cause because expansions are made on the cheap using reused assets. If there were going to do MP, it would be in a sequel.
  4. Wait. What? I'm all for MP, but it's a very large technical process.
  5. I hope they come back with something more refined. Better to cancel the project now than to get your funding and make a ****ty product. Or not get funded due to a ****ty campaign.
  6. You're making a rational argument to an emotional issue. I don't think you know what a strawman is.
  7. If you were a pro you'd just steal Josh Sawyers laptop and run off back to wherever you live. You're thinking too small. What Seen needs to do is spend years creating a genetically engineered form of ink that he can one day sell to a tattoo parlor, and then another decade perfecting mind-control tech. He'll use the mind-control to get Josh Sawyer to go get a new tattoo from that parlor using the mind-control ink. Once Seen is in control of Sawyer through the ink, all he has to do is spend the remaining years of his life making time travel. Then he and Sawyer both go into the Time Travel Machine, back to today. From there, he simply must have Josh Sawyer break into Obsidian's offices and play Pillars of Eternity from Chris Avallone's office.
  8. Never made a strawman nor an analogy. You're the one choosing to get upset over this.
  9. The streams have decided for me that, no matter who I swap out for custom heroes, Aloth stays. Aloth freakin' stays.
  10. To clarify a bit, it's an isometric game set in an industrial-era world with magic where you need to click on people's portraits to use them and press the space bar to pause combat. A tombstone that reads "Here lies l33t h4xx0r, he hacked too much time" is where you draw the line?
  11. Um, dude. They need to press the release button. Meaning they need to be at work. It's not an automated system. It is 10:16pm here in California. They are all asleep.
  12. Time zones. Why you no defy the laws of time? You are called Time Zones.
  13. The game is three days out. It went gold last week. Perhaps in a patch or something, but they can't do anything about it now. I get that you guys don't want to see things that other people paid for, but chill with the "Other People Playing With My Toys" syndrome. The easy option is to never click on a tombstone.
  14. Not liking it doesn't give you some magical insight into what they "should have done" or what would have made the game better.
  15. How do you "know"? That was the game they set out to make.
  16. Oh, that makes perfect sense. Steam Pre-Load may have started.
  17. Yahtzee Croshaw is also not a bitter old guy that talks a mile a minute and hates every game ever.
