  1. None of you has managed to solve the problem that, given the same weapon, an intelligent barbarian has bigger reach on his cleaving attacks than a dim one. Realistically, the only stat that should affect it is arm length. Back to the drawing board y'all.
  2. Seriously, on this forum you don't even have to try. Just write "Damn, those SJWs eh?" and come back to 10+ pages an hour later.
  3. Going with that 3D engine after POE's beautiful backgrounds would be a downgrade akin to IE -> NWN.
  4. I guess since party XP gain is strongly (almost exclusively) tied to quest completion, the mission completion and availability is also tied to quests to keep progression of inactive characters in check.
  5. I like the soundtrack. It's nothing spectacular but fits the atmosphere quite well. My only gripe is the volume of, ironically, the bells in one of the tracks (plays in Crucible Keep f.ex.) - they are obnoxiously loud.
  6. Because steam replaces every file that was changed, the patch includes only the changes.
  7. Garriott sums it up nicely in this quote: “And I said, because you guys are missing the point. You are now trying to tell me what I can do artistically — about something that is, in my opinion, not the issue you think it is. If it was something explicitly sexist or explicitly racist or promoting child abuse, I could stand being censored. But if it is something that provoked an emotional response from one individual, I say I have proven the success of the room. The fact that you guys are fighting me over this makes me even more sure I should not remove that room from the game.” But of course that was the 80s so Garriott didn't have to fear a twitter backlash.
  8. Guess that's the next thing they'll secretly patch out since twitter now dictates what content goes in a game.
  9. By the time GOG gets the patch, Obs will likely have already released the next one. In the meantime you can grab the unofficial update off the internets - at your own risk ofc.
  10. That's some really annoying text formatting you have there bro, stopped reading halfway through. The system works for me, I postpone resting as long as possible (usually until a guy or two are almost dead) and only travel back to town/keep if I absolutely have to, if only to avoid loading screens. It gets the job done but if you're really determined to cheese it, you can grab more supplies from the stash (after the patch I think) up to you. Never liked random encounters in D&D, glad they don't have them here.
  11. Ironically, someone already did just that. The patch is 100MB in size and can be copied over the GOG version - with the caveat that it turns your legit DRM-free GOG installation into a cracked Steam installation. Why can't we get an official download from Obsidian rather than forcing us into potentially illegal territory, possibly compromising our PCs in the process?
  12. Didn't find the book in question. Only remember stumbling upon one instance of ME where the pronouns were used correctly and was pleasantly surprised that at least Obsidian writers had done their research. Apparently not all of them as it turns out.
  13. Pathetic. You should put "Professionally Offended Armchair Activists" at the top of the credits list because they evidently have more influence on the creative process than any dev.
  14. I had no idea that GoG would take an extra half a week to deliver the patch. How would I have known?Because it always happens with GOG? If it's your first new game from them, then I sympathize. I have it on GOG and I don't feel bad, this is exactly what I expected and agreed to. I'm more surprised to see someone actually bought Pillars on Origin. I bought Witcher 2 on GOG a few years ago and didn't have to wait weeks for a patch, CDP released that on their website for everyone to download. I preordered TW3 on GOG for that reason and don't expect any patch delays either. People are "butthurt" because these days you just get shafted when you decide to support devs by buying their product. Buggy, unfinished releases, followed by weeks and months of paid beta. Meanwhile pirates are laughing their asses off and are no doubt already enjoying the patched game. There's a reason for that; GOG and the developers of The Witcher belong to the same company; CD Projekt. The Witcher patches will never be delayed on GOG, because they aren't released until they have gone through the GOG process to begin with. It's the default vendor platform for The Witcher. So.. yeah, that's why your limited experience does not match with everyone elses. The issue simply do not apply to The Witcher. No offense mate but you're talking out of your ass. The patch went up on CDP's website, GOG wasn't even involved. They also released a patch to remove DRM from the retail version - much to the dismay of their publisher and at no small financial loss for themselves. This is why CDP are bros and the only company deserving of any preorder money. But I digress. You live, learn.

  16. Would it hurt to post the patch a as a standalone download on their website like was commonplace back in the day before a million online retailers popped up each with their own download manager?
  17. Screw Steam. What about patch for GOG version? Will there be a separate download available?
  18. I take that to mean "it lacks more of the content I enjoy." There's certainly no shortage of trash mob encounters, that's for sure.
  19. How many levels do the Endless Paths have anyway? I cleared the first 5 and they were extremely light on puzzles and heavy on trash mobs. I hope that improved later on.
  20. I lost DB rep when I started slaughtering them so in order to not break possible future quests I have put the backer NPC purge on hold - for now.
  21. Yellow and red circles??? Pffft, turn on expert mode. Started on expert, then gradually turned on the helpers I need for a less frustrating experience.
  22. Huh, I assumed all spells were friendly-fire inside the red circle and foe- only in the yellow. How will the patch be obtained for the GOG version? I'm unfamiliar with their patching process. I hope I won't have to re-download the whole game? I don't use the GOG downloader cause I'm /tinfoil like that.
  23. Is experience fixed then? I was under the impression that it's divided by the number of party members, so soloing you'd get 6x the amount compared to a full party.
