It's good early game when you are trading 8 deflection for 12 accuracy and you are lacking sources accuracy in general. After level 4 though I wouldn't use it. Even if one handed style was good and didn't work with a shield it would still have the problem vs. weapon and shield that its always a flat +12, while shields get better and better as the game goes on.

I used it on durgan-reinforced Angio's Gambeson. Instant use Alacrity is just crazy good on any caster. Just checked and it turns out if you have 2 little saviours the effects stack, so if you also have a paladin you could duplicate little saviour and have the paladin wear outworn buckler and give everyone +15 to all defenses.

I don't feel there's even a problem, and don't want them messing with it for PoE2 and breaking things trying to fix something that isn't broken. The current mechanic gives a bit of incentive to conserve resources since going back to town to get supplies takes time, but doesn't actually ever stop you from resting which I think is fine, an actual hard limit on resting could only result in frustration and possibly having to go back and reload hours old saves to redo areas with less resting.

Well, it still doesnt have very good defenses but I very much underestimated the Wall of Flame fire trail, which seems to strike everyone close to it. I sent it to distract the kraken while I fought the tentacles in the corner and suddenly the kraken is just gone and this is what I see in the combat log:

Did the fight just now (I was planning to wait with WM2 untill bug fixes but I couldn't help myself). My priest got turned into a pig and went down but crowns & devotions for the faithful was already up. Played it kind of sloppy and focused the dragons untill I spotted Llengrath after the pig incident and had Aloth drop the (Concelhauts) hammer on her. The time you get to buff with how far away they are at the start makes it a lot easier than it would be otherwise, so for me Adra Dragon is still the hardest encounter in the game. I had to reload on the Adra Dragon my first PotD playthrough despite having done it on Hard before, but Alpine Dragon, Concelhaut, and now Llengrath and her dragons all went down on my first tries, but that would almost certainly be different if Llengrath and dragons started the fight right in front of you. Edit: Re-did the fight with Minor Avatar first and then Crowns instead of skipping Avatar and going straight for Crowns like I did first time, and my priest stayed up and no one went down (Gambeson was again key to getting all buffs up so fast). One of my two Walls of Many Colours dominated one of the dragons for me as well this time which is also a reason it went better. I keep forgetting to use Concelhaut summon.

We've already talked about this, haven't we? http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83339-poe-2/?p=1756174 Oh hey we did! I'd say I need to stop drinking but I don't really drink. Actually reading it now having seen level 8 spells and WM II content that idea doesn't sound too bad. -

SOA started at level 8 or so though, and ended right before you got 9th level spells, which is a lot closer to where PoE ends than BG1 is, and people complained about Throne of Bhaal for the over the top epicness of it all. -

That seems waaay to fiddly for something that basically doesn't matter, given that rest supplies are actually limitless and pretty much have to be limitless, as making them not limitless would let people end up in situations where its impossible to continue the game and force reloads from many hours before so not really workable. -

Grazes from non-damage effect have the benefit that there's no DR for non-damage effect, or rather there is but it's very limited (those abilities that say -X seconds duration for certain status effects like the Prayer Against spells used to have are essentially like DR vs. satus effects). I think Sawyer talked about that for a sequel they'd look over grazes for non-damage effects and instead of (or in addition to) halving the duration non-damage grazes would have a lesser effect, so f.ex. a graze from a Terrified effect would only cause Frightened, and maybe a graze on a Confusion would only cause Daze or something like that. -

I kind of like this, it would let you import your character (something I have an inordinate fondness for) without causing the problems of starting the second game at level 16 and wondering why suddenly every group of roaming bandits includes wizards as powerfull as Concelhaut and Llengrath. -

How so? It's not like there aren't classes that don't use per-rest spells but can keep up with the vancian casters. Ciphers are right up there with Wizards/Priests/Druids and Paladins/Chanters I think are pretty close, and the rest are keeping up waaay better than in BG, IWD, or NWN games. -
Vailian Fighter with maxed Intellect using Discpilined Barrage can get great AoE, duration, and accuracy for Ring of the Ancient Forge, which I think is the most usefull power of the hammer: Given that you can't use a shield you are not going to get Deflection very high so I wouldn't leave constitution at 6, as not using that hammer in melee is a waste and going in to melee with 6 con and no shield seems foolhardy.

I think per-rest isn't a great mechanic but really it's not very restrictive and resting supplies are plentiful enough, that's part of the reason I don't really see what the point of it is because it's not like it actually restricts you unless you're trying to get the 10-rests achievement. I suppose it's mostly just atmospheric. Only time I've felt I've had to pull out and go buy resting supplies even on PotD has been when going through the endless paths and with the main staircase it's basically built for you to do just that. This was true of IE games too though, only time I can recall where I actually felt restricted by per-rest spells was Trials of the Luremaster because the attacks you could suffer while sleeping could be kind of brutal especially if you were completely out of spells. Edit: Also at level 15 you now have 4 spells per-encounter and for those encounters that are really just speedbumps that's easily enough. -
Depends on what other classes are in the party. If you're playing with a priest and a paladin and are running around with +16 accuracy or more and 15% graze to hit you're perfectly fine with 10 perception. Depending on what weapons you are using perception can be more for the interrupts than for the accuracy though.

Arquebus aleady has its own DR bypass and does high damage, so taking penetrating shot for it is a waste. Beside soldier weapon focus which works for both the arquebus and warhammers/pikes/greatswords you don't need to take any more ranged-weapon talents. As a rogue you probably shouldn't take Vulnerable Attack either since you do high weapon damage and the slower attack speed will hurt you more than the DR penetration will help, especially if you use a two handed weapon.
