  1. Yeah, that fight becomes quickly impossible if you don't kill the Preacher asap. The preacher has Beloved of Spirits, which stacks each time it goes off. I had to reload that fight 20 times trying to kill that preacher in PoD. Also not 100% certain, but I think that the ancient spirits continues to work even if the chanter is defeated in the fight. The cipher enemy in that fight kept regenerating health after I killed the chanter, but no one else seemed to. Are you sure the Cipher didn't have the leeching shield spell (psychovampiric something)? Psychovampric shield is only supposed to steal enemies Resolve/Intellect and give you an amount of Deflection as a bonus for a short time period, it doesn't heal them. Your right, I always get confused by the name and I believe it changed behavior at some point too.

  3. The way I see it, might is useful for slow hitting weapons, but speed is the way too go with smaller weapons.
  4. So far this is what we have been told.
  5. You're not the only one. I always play with the AI off actually.
  6. There will be no AI scripting for the initial PoE release, but they have mentioned that it might be included in the expansion. It's very strange that in this modern day and age it is so difficult to implement them, even though PoE is modeled after Infinity Engine games and those old games had scripts. I guess I'll just wait until release date and if combat's still going to be a chore I'll just wait until that expansion, or better yet, go and play BG/BG2/IWD: EE. It's not necessarily difficult, it's time consuming and many other features were considered more important for the first game. Isn't combat predominant in this game, like in IWD? How making it more manageable for the players is less important than anything else? If I'm gonna spend majority of the game in combat that I can't enjoy, how can I enjoy the game in general? It's less important than getting a playable game. It's less important than everything tied to classes mechanics, enemy AI, pathfinding, combat resolution and dialogues. The dev have priorities to get a playable game, even in the latest build the pathfinding was still wonky, enemy AI is still super stupid and there was bugs the combat resolution and classes mechanics.

  8. Yes, sometimes you can't see the "loot-bag" from corpses because of things like tall grass or just the color of the background and the loot-bag.
  9. It's steep because you start mid-level with a party you didn't build and without much knowledge systems. Starting at level 1 with a single character is going to do wonders for the learning curve.
  10. I remember reading about that too PJ, but I have no idea if it made it into the game or not.
  11. It's kind of funny that you mention The Witcher 2. The Witcher 1 had kill XP and it was the main way to gain levels. The Witcher 2 moved to monsters giving almost no XP. The Witcher 3 totally removed kill XP, only quests content provide XP now...and I haven't seen anyone complain about it on the Witcher forums. Its kind of funny that you forgot that Witcher 3 is now open world sandbox as Skyrim, with enemies which does not scale to player level. Removing the kill XP was only solution to following problem: 1/ Starting player ignores main quests, any quest... 2/ Goes to wilderness and gain new levels 3/ Making any main quests enemies trivial in process This was discussed for months in forums. Its impossible to have no scaling to player level and kill XP in enemies at the same time in open world sandbox game. Considering I haven't forgotten that The Witcher 3 is a no-level scaling open world game, I don't see how you can find it funny in any way. My comment was about the evolution of the XP systems that CDProjekt was already trying to abandon with The Witcher 2 despite how the first game started and they finally abandoned it with the 3rd game. Also, I thank you to have given another reasons why kill XP is bad for PoE...

  13. I haven't played PoE since beta v1.0, have quick slots been removed? With up to four quick slots it seems every possible eventuality can be accounted for; one set for slashing weapon, one for crushing, one for piercing and one for....? The weapon quick slots are still there, everyone start with two of them and you can increase that number via talents...it also work in the last beta.
  14. I'm not sure if the Paladin should be put into the "fighter" category. It's designed as a support Leader class like the Chanter and the Priest, but with lower maintenance and more health. Flame of Devotion is their only offensives oriented ability and depending on your Paladin Order, it can be turned into a support ability via order specific talents too.
  15. I'm still wondering why the spellcaster should have a "opening volley immunity" when that idea can be user against any enemies and they will most probably die when they get hit by 6 players each shooting an arquebus too.
  16. Even if the tiers matches it doesn't cover for people who bought extras. It's much easier to give every backers the same copy on GOG/Steam and manage the extra themselves based on what the people entered on this site than let a 3rd party deal with it.
  17. Is it ironic that the character that looks like Jesus is actually the one that "die" and "come back to life" the most?
  18. It's not the 5 bucks or even the moderate difference between Steam and GOG (I actually don't think anyone's even brought that up). It's the price of the other editions and the fact that they're digital only. See my comment to Sensuki about the Royal edition pricing. The Royal and Champion edition are priced a bit higher (as most KS do) than their respective KS packages with similar stuff in it as far as I can see (all digital only). The only difference is that the equivalent of the "royal" edition came with two keys for the game I guess. But KS all works this way, you want a deal you, back the game on Kickstarter or you wait for on year after release.
  19. Are people crying over $5? Or over the fact that Steam and GOG or any other digital retailers don't have to sale games at the same price? Steam have the Royal edition for 99$ by the way and GOG is always cheaper, for any games.
  20. Go on your ranger character sheet and scroll down, you'll see the pet information. Well, the limited pet information available there (stats and a couple of other things). It does include the level-up bonus currently applied to them too.
  21. I read about it being cut as well.
  22. It isn't. The engine for some reason requires you to state one higher than the maximum integer as the range . 100 is the maximum in the game. OMG, you are right. What kind of morons doesn't keep his function behavior the same regardless of types? There is no point for it to work different between floats and integers.
  23. I know how the function works, that's why I'm wondering why 101 is a possible value for an attack roll. I though it was supposed to be 1-100. Not that it change anything to the maths.
  24. They don't seem to think murdering dudes is all that big a deal to be honest. They sure attack your party on site priest of skaen or otherwise. Murdering their own dudes. Are the skaenites killing each other left and right? I doubt it. They are following the god of secret hatred, resentment and violent retribution...
  25. Doppleshwert formula is accurate with the code from what I can see. I'm wondering why the attack roll is using a 1-101 range instead of 1-100 though (the function is inclusive in Unity). And that explain how a rogue can get more than x3.0 instead of x2.39, heheheh.
