  1. Two points here. The complaint isn't really that things are "are being" min/maxed. The complaint in general is that the game promotes and rewards min/maxing, so to the point that it's hard to even make an argument as to why not do it. All games reward min/maxing without exception. Min/maxing is the idea of exploiting the game mechanics as much as you can to trivialize the content.
  2. 42 endurance? It's like the boar is level 0. The attributes are in line with the ranger's pets the player gets in v480 though (well most of them, wolf is still at all 10s).
  3. They changed a couple of skills so the rangers are not locked into ranged weapons only.
  4. That isn't what he means. Wasteland has gotten multiple 1+ gigabyte patches (with at least one more to come) to make the game functional post release. Hopefully PoE will only need relatively minor bug fixes. But supposedly the first expansion will rework some things, like the stealth system. A small bugfix in PoE will require a gigabyte patch via Steam, that's because of how Steam is packaging the files to do the update (unfortunately).
  5. Different attributtes perhaps? Hmm, I'll check tonight. I made various Chanters and I'm pretty sure they didn't have all the same might. Alright, I have a pretty bad memory in this case, the value in char gen is 12-19 with base 12-18 and it's not based on Might because it's the same for an Amauna (+2 Might) and Orlan (-1 Might) and reducing Might to 5 doesn't change it. With Might 10 though, my character showed 12-18 in game, so I take it the OP Chanter has reduced Might.
  6. You could buy some in the Kickstarter as an add-on. Otherwise, I guess they will be put some on sales once they open the Obsidian store (I saw a dev mention that was in the work not that long ago).
  7. For Chanter? That's probably because they will be mostly used in melee or mid-range. Their chants doesn't cover the entire battlefield, if you want to use the debuff phrases on enemies you need to be in melee.
  8. Requirements are always based on OS/hardwares that the devs are ready to support for their games. It doesn't mean stuff outside of that won't works with the game.
  9. Backers haven't seen the whole game, but based on the BB the answer is yes. Or wait for reviews which should arrive next week...well at least some impressions.
  10. Chanters are awesome. I love how you can make your own chants by selecting specific phrases with different effects.
  11. Warbow has the same issue too (but I don't have a video of that).
  12. It's important for media to have reviews as close to the release day as possible, otherwise people will look elsewhere for information. Having impressions does the same job as a review.
  13. Is there things Dexterity doesn't speed up?
  14. They aren't under pressure from a publisher to have day 1 reviewers up to boost week 1 sales. I expect mostly impressions writes up on the day of release.
  15. Binding Web does the same thing.
  16. Did the Specter die before the hit calculation happened? I've seen it quite a few times that one character hit for 0.0 damage, but after looking at the logs that seemed to be because the creature died before the hit calculation happened for that action. Although, the damage is [0.0 - DR = 0.0 damage] and not some negative numbers when that happen.
  17. Different attributtes perhaps? Hmm, I'll check tonight. I made various Chanters and I'm pretty sure they didn't have all the same might.
  18. Ah ah, I'm not the only one with that problem! Although, it took 10 characters before I liked mine enough to finish DA:I with. I never finished Skyrim because of that little problem either. Playing the BB haven't helped at all. In fact, it might have made it worst. I really don't know what I want to play.
  19. In my game, this invocation says 9-13 damage at character creation. O_o
  20. Most games just go with enchanted hand wraps.
  21. I suggest you point them to the manual first. I know I'm going to read it before playing the game despite having spend as much hours into the BB than it usually takes me to finish most cRPGs I play.
  22. Survival helping to identify ingredients is mentioned in a loading screen tooltip in the latest BB.
  23. This would make the final boss way too easy. Do you remember BG1? How would you rank Serevok in terms of difficulty? Because he was 16th level. In other words, he was twice a level capped party's level. Plus he had allies, plus his gear was cheese (his armor was +5 full plate and gave him 90% magic resistance) Yet BG1's final encounter was 'just right' challenge-wise IMO. Besides, there's nothing wrong with giving crit-path minimalists what they deserve in the end: A Hard time. He really has 90% Magic resistance? Are you saying that when I trapped him in a Otiluke's Resilient Sphere to deal with the trash first I was super lucky?
  24. Maybe. I compared to the Paladin's aura, well tried to. Chanter needs to be in-combat so it's a bit more complicated to calculate anything. It might actually be 5 meters at Int 10.
  25. I made the test and the chant radius is like 6m at Int 10 for the Chanter.
