  1. I might have scored an interview with Josh for a website I am associated with (he said yes in PM but I've got to set it up with their PR girl), if that goes ahead I'll ask about the intended level/power progression in respect to past games.
  2. Feargus hinted that there may be a stretch goal related to upgrading the Player House to a Stronghold and some news of possible George Ziets involvement. And a demo screenshot. That may not be tomorrow, but this week sometime.
  3. this is a very good point. The first few levels really are pretty dull combat-wise because of a lack of abilities and spells. I really hope we don't go through most of the game that way. Screw that. I'd rather it be more like the BG series personally Project Eternity (BG1 TotSC-ish level progression, maybe a bit more - 12 D&D levels sounds great) PE:2 (BG2:SoA-ish level progression) I don't want to feel like a demigod after one game, let alone even two ~_~ AND I believe the problem you are describing will not be present in this game, I think they're going to be taking a leaf out of D&D 4E's book and have more things to do available at level 1 and getting something each level, rather than just health and attack bonus.
  4. As much as I hate facebook, there's nothing wrong with getting extra game content for pressing a mouse button.
  5. Actually they do, or at least did. I don't know if you bought The Witcher 2 from day 1 but there was a specific gog_only update for one of the early patches and there used to be patch files before the Enhanced Edition IIRC. As for updating the physical game, why not just use an updater.exe like Neverwinter Nights or something? Although personally I've always preferred downloadable exe's. Or even better a torrent
  6. I don't think companions will be doing anything independent during combat unless they get charmed (if there's charm). DIRE CHARM! o sheet. Outside of combat, who knows. The last Obsidian game I played was Neverwinter Nights 2 vanilla so other people probably have more of a better idea than me.
  7. I think they're including the spirit thing from Lionheart. You don't have to use the custom-made NPCs if you don't want. The Adventurer's Hall will serve other purposes than custom NPC creation. I probably won't make my own NPCs, and I don't really care for the stretch goal either but other people might.
  8. I thought that the higher the budget goes the more people they hire / bring in from their company to work on the project. Sure it makes more work for quite a lot of people but yeah.
  9. I want the chanters from Baldur's Gate 1 who just stand there and say the same lines over and over.
  10. The Gunpowder age ones are just line infantry battles, that's it. Not much to it really.
  11. Once you pick say a herb, doesn't it not grow back until the next season (or year)? *hint hint*
  12. I think the Total War games have started to go down hill in a sense The combat from Shogun: Total War right through to Medieval: Total War II was ****ing awesome, however that has severely dropped off since then. Now its kinda crap. However the economic side of the game just kept getting better, Empire: Total War had an awesome economy system.
  13. 2.7M Increase Justin's music / sound budget. Doesn't need to be for anything specific such as an orchestra.
  14. I preordered but the only thing I'm sad about is not being able to get the BG1 paperdolls (>>> better than BG2) due to the lack of dual wield animation. Also I do prefer the BG1 grey UI, but whatever. Wish the new one had grey stone.
  15. Funny story but the first time I finished Baldur's Gate, I did it with the mouse only because my dad took the keyboard away from my computer because I did something naughty (I was 11 turning 12 at the time)
  16. Why is it unfair if the party is tactically out of position if they walk into such a sequence without first scouting? I thought that was handled fine in the Baldur's Gate series. The only thing I can think of is sequences where the enemies spawn after the dialogue finishes. And that's simply fixed by just including more options to beat the encounter. Or just to avoid doing that unless they come from the edge of the map.
  17. Firkraag undefeated? wat. several breach/pierce magic spells + attack damage is usually how I beat him most casters (and dragons) chain stoneskin / weapon & spell immunity spells, so you just have to keep removing their iterations as fast as possible you can actually do damage. There's always the finger of death attempt too hahah never cast mordenkainen's sword in bg2 myself.
