  1. I know what macro and micro is the first game I played online once DSL became available in my area was warcraft 3 ladder afterall
  2. I'm going to try and avoid simple one line questions like that because those are things that they probably haven't decided yet, as Josh or Feargus previously stated most of the stuff just exists as brief scribbles on whiteboards or they've talked about the general concept or idea behind stuff. No doubt Tim is cracking away designing systems. For instance, your first question there they said that characters will hit more likely than not (unless you're a level 5 guy attacking a level 20 monster etc) in a post somewhere on the forums Concentration checks, you'd assume, would at least be on in expert mode. edit: I might consider asking about checks, but more in the context of what they can do now that they're not limited by a 20 sided die.
  3. I'm doing an email interview with Josh (I think, although others may answer my questions if they're more appropriate) for the Australian website Cybergamer (which has a European sister site). My interview will try to avoid any of the questions that interviews/articles have asked already and things that the devs have answered on the Kickstarter Q&A, the forums or their personal sites (Sawyer's Formspring etc). The planned interview will be split into three sections (Personal, Design, Mechanics). I will ask very specific design and mechanics questions to try and generate better / more informative answers. I think I have a bit of room for an extra design or mechanical question or two, so if there's anything you want to know that fits the bill of the interview then feel free to post your question here and if I like it I'll try and fit it in. I expect that I should get a reply tomorrow, if so the article should go up in 36 hours or so. General topics I've already got covered
  4. To be honest I thought the opposite. If the $20 tier wasn't limited to 25K, you'd get more overall backers (price elasticity of demand), but the question is would you get more money if that was the case (I think yes, but others may disagree).
  5. I know I read them, spawned from that update including the marshmallow lady
  6. I don't know why, but when I saw the Giant Marshmallow thing it reminded me of this
  7. Marijuana is the cure for cancer guys, it's the evil pharmaceutical companies for preventing it's finding! (No I don't smoke it)
  8. There better be a 300HP Gelatinous Cube in this dungeon and Ghosts!
  9. I have a feeling we might make it to 7 or 8 levels ... and I hope its bloody hard to get to the bottom! 10 or 11 would be glorious but it makes me wonder if 10-11 levels means a decrease in the overall area size or something
  10. The Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise were for a quest, there was a woman in a nearby house who left her bracers in one of the crates from a ship or something. I loved the little secret holes in stuff though. Diamond in a tree, Ring of Wizardry buried in the dirt, yes please.
  11. Too early to discuss the expansion for me, since we don't know what will be in the actual game When that comes out, sure then I'll know what I want.
  12. Yeah that was already one of the planned topics to cover. Here's a list of stuff I've got so far (wish list, don't yet know interview format or length). Where the Inspiration behind the souls aspect came from Class Homogeneity Which art style the area art, paperdolls and portrait art will be like Avatar customization & reflection of that on the paperdoll RTS influences (IE warcraft 3) Frame Rate Attack Animation / Speed Factor question Party AI button / Object Highlighter Level / Power / XP progression (including [not asking for a spoiler] the aim of low-level feel (3E or 4E for example))
  13. I remember the first time I found the main crypt in the Vale of Shadows and thought, now THIS is a dungeon.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSrf8EgSyDg Played and completed are two different things, how far did you get ?
  15. If it's done like Baldur's Gate Extra enemies = extra XP A Greater Mummy yields more XP than a Mummy
  16. Baldur's Gate 1 style please (and the difference between Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 for me is) Fixed item placement but random minor treasure on trash mobs No random magical item drops (looking at you Icewind Dale 2) No convenience item stacks (magical arrows and healing potions were EVERYWHERE in BG2) Every man and his dog shouldn't have heaps of magic items (In BG1 named enemies sometimes had one (or rarely, two)). Secret Treasure in tiny holes on the map like Ankheg Armor & Ring of Wizardry, non-highlightable.
  17. I'm glad they mentioned Icewind Dale. Icewind Dale had some great elements. The specific things I've seen Josh mention about Icewind Dale are the dungeon-delving and the Fantastic 2D Backdrops ...
