  1. Different world, different lore, different game From the beginning Obsidian has stated The core four classes will feel the same as their D&D counterparts but you will be able to bend them out of their archetypes The other classes will have new spins on them to make them more unique to the P:E world So far we have the Chanter being more of a traditional bard than D&D bard Our monk example ^ Paladins functioning more like Warlords/Marshalls The ranger will probably be the next class unveiled as that's what they are working on now. I am interested to see what you'll be able to do with that. D&D sort of has the Ranger as either an expert marksman and/or a Two Weapon Fighter like Drizzt. Really interested in what's in store for the Cipher, Chanter and Druid
  2. If you spend the wound point you do avoid taking (Health) damage
  3. Enjoyed reading the update. Thanks! Monks sounds cool, will see how the new mechanics play in the game before I make my judgement. Big (Y) on the clothes. I know it's a shame, but I highly doubt we'll see much above a B cup in this game. At the moment my first playthrough character concept was going to be a buxom female Ocean Human of undefined class called Cioccolata or something alas I am not sure the paperdolls will have the assets to support it!
  4. I'm not sure what you do, but technically you don't need to set up your backer information just yet. It's like being promised a game key for a game that comes out in a year's time. At the latest, the backer site needs to be up sometime during early production so that the $1K+ backers can get their info into the game; or at least that part of the site needs to be up.
  5. Are you certain it's not coming? Because I am certain it is, whether its next week or in July.
  6. Not all dragons are evil. I liked how Dragons were handled in The Witcher 2 actually.
  7. I think most of us would prefer that the money goes to the game's development, not company logistics.
  8. Or you could explore it first ... then admire it They did say they are going to reward exploration in the game ... It would be nice if their Fog of War system revealed all blacked out unpassable terrain when you move to the position closest to it, so that once you've explored the whole area, the whole area is now visible.
  9. I liked the BG2 and Star Wars KotOR 2 crafting/upgrade systems. Haven't played Fallout: New Vegas.
  10. I liked the way the Infinity Engine game handled corpses. I think there was a permanent corpses mod however, but generally corpses (and loot on those corpses) stayed for ... 24 hours game time after you left an area (I think) before it was cleared. Although 'gibs' only stayed on the ground for a few seconds after they landed. P:E should be able to do more extreme stuff than that.
  11. After the Shadowrun Returns controversy I am hesitant to back anything that has a licensing agreement with a publisher.
  12. Didn't mean Dungeons. I just meant I hope that at least wilderness and dungeons are blacked out, but I prefer everything to be blacked out like BG1. But that is a very minor quibble.
  13. I don't know if you've been following their ideas behind this but basically You can rest at : Campfire (designated reasonably 'safe' place in a Wilderness area and/or dungeon), Inn/Tavern, Player House, Player Stronghold and maybe some other NPC protected areas. You can't just press the rest button on the UI (because there won't be one) and voila.
  14. You know I think out of most of the developers out there I think Obsidian know how to do pretty good dialogue, and they've learned a lot over the years.
  15. I think out of all the classes we have no information about the Druid except they can shapeshift
  16. I haven't played Fallout: New Vegas but the game sounds like the main story will have some tie-in to the use of factions throughout the game. It seems that you will be venturing into various Ruins of Eir Glanfath in order to discover the true nature of a particular supernatural phenomenon that you experience at the start of the game. It has been stated throughout the various lore updates that there are several factions that want to explore/plunder the ruins to further their knowledge of souls and various other things, while the native Glanfathans want to protect them. The storyline has gone through various revisions since it was originally pitched, but I would assume the premise remains the same. I don't think the factional alliances will be forced like they are in F:NV but it probably gives you a few options in how you go about your business in the ruins.
  17. To be perfectly honest, I do not think there will be dragons in Project eternity. I may be wrong but it seems unlikely.
  18. Re: Fog of war I do prefer it to be black when you first enter the area, for at least wilderness areas and dungeons rather than it being already revealed like in BG2.
  19. Well on the other hand, while some people will make ease of use mods, you'll also see stuff akin to Sword Coast Stratagems most likely, meaning that if you screw something up it means a red hot poker up the rear end. Works both ways really.
  20. Originally I played BG with Character voices on always. But yeah as I got older (or more perhaps, played the game more), I turned them all to seldom. The BG/IWD options were fine : Character Sounds had a few different options for stuff like "when selected", "when ordered" etc and you could choose always, seldom and never for the voices, would be cool if they changed the options to always, more often, less often, never as that should cover pretty much everyone.
  21. Right, thanks for clearing that up. Sorry that is ultimate post structure failure on my behalf. It does indeed seem like that's what I meant from just that little segment, but I was a verbal aggregate for no cooldowns, misses and XP for Kills 2/3 at least.
  22. One of the first mods I can see being made Access Inventory anywhere
  23. We are not going to see an attempt at modelling an *entire* city, unless it's like Baldur's Gate 1. Main reason being if they did it wouldn't feel like an IE game would it ?
