  2. I think it'll be addressed the update after the next. Usually they go a mechanics update followed by a misc update (art/tech/operations etc)
  3. I agree that the way shortcuts were handled wasn't fantastic haha. The game definitely supported clicking on the UI interface more than hotkeying it, and because it was one of the first games I ever played on my own computer, I click UI buttons more often than key them ... very hard habit to break, but DotA 2 has made me a bit better haha.
  4. I think the nature of those quests in IWD1 suited the dungeon-diving style of the game tbh. Certainly didn't take anything away from the game for me.
  5. Early on it was said that Edair will have an integral role in the story.
  6. In a recent interview I think they said it was definitely gonna be Justin Bell. Probably gonna be a good thing too, because a lot of the composers that people have mentioned haven't made a memorable soundtrack for 10 years+
  7. Never said he didn't like BG1 I don't think and that's more what P:E will be like in terms of power levels than BG:2 where you start the game at level 7-9. I think the running quote from a while ago that you should be able to reach up to ~ level 12 equivalent of D&D in P:E.
  8. Sawyer said he had another system idea, but he didn't want to talk about it until it had been thoroughly tested.
  9. They're not into production quite yet, so I am guessing that the game May(2014) be delivered slightly later than promised.

  11. Afaik they only have One web developer, re-doing the whole website will take some time
  12. More info on ethnicities http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3506352&pagenumber=400&perpage=40#post414524664
  13. I think the version that comes with the physical copy is DRM free too correct ?
  14. It'll probably have numbers associated with it right ? Do this = Rep +5 Vailian, -5 Aedyrian, -10 Glanfathan etc etc
  15. Well, they are quite similar. BG2 + ToB is just generally regarded as being even better than BG1. But oh well. Wut eva. Yeah they're similar, but not really I guess. Tonally they have a completely different feel. BG1 has a different style of dialogue and character writing and is less linear; Didn't have a quest every 20 metres in game etc. BG also had better atmosphere I guess? I do agree that it is strange to not like both, perhaps there's something more to it than that (David Gaider).
  16. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/63468-selection-circles-option-poll/ join the vote for customizable selection circles.
  17. Also remember that they only started creating this world in the second half of last year sometime. I assume that you would be able to mod in your own cultures I suppose. To be honest they sound like they're more for flavor. You'll probably get a few minor bonuses to skills and the like, as well as access to cultural talents and several extra dialogue options & different reactivity throughout the game.
  18. Play on expert mode or turn on permadeath in the options I suppose, problem solved Yes,you are absolutely not required to recruit any companions at all. Refer to update 16.
  19. I'm actually most interested by the story setup. It sounds very different to most games. I'm not very familiar with factional gameplay besides the The Witcher series because I haven't played New Vegas, but there's a lot of potential here for different ways to play through the main story sided with different factions in the game. Depending on whether you were siding with one of the Colonials or one of the Native Tribes. It kinda sounds like despite having many factions you'll either be helping the natives defend the ruins against the Colonials (Aedyr? Vailians?) while exploring them yourselves to try and discover information about the supernatural event or you'll be helping one or more of the Colonials infiltrate the ruins protected by the natives ... or just barging, sneaking or talking your way in siding with anyone. There might be more variation than that of course
  20. So far we (think we) have: Human Fighter Dwarf Ranger Elf Wizard Orlan Cipher Human Monk Human Cleric ? ? The remaining classes are: Paladin, Chanter, Barbarian, Druid, Rogue. It is possible that the Godlike character below is a companion too
  21. Cool Aumaua heads! Thanks for chucking in some tiny snippets of new info for those up to date with the project status
