Any Game like Project Eternity and Torment Tides of Numenera?
You think that's a good idea considering who's currently doing the job? Definitely not. It will be terrible

Full Scale Battles / Number Characters Rendered
The Witcher 2 did a pretty good job of depicting a big battle going on around you as you were wandering through the magic mist in Act 2, although what you could actually interact with was limited. I wouldn't mind seeing some larger scale encounters in Project Eternity. That would be awesome - where you have your party, and then perhaps a few extra followers to control (as well as your own summons) vs a large number of enemies. They don't have to be 'massive' but something that would really test your stamina reserves vs a lot of units.

size of the game
I am hoping for somewhere in between Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 in terms of amount of explorable areas (BG1 has more) and amount of content (BG2 has more).

In-game achievements, trophies, popups etc
From the XP FOR KILLS discussion threads, Obsidian have stated they are leaning toward Quest Experience for Objectives / Quest Milestones. Therefore, you essentially 'achieve' something, every time you complete a quest milestone. The presentation of the Quest objectives and completion could end up looking very 'achievement based' if they wanted it to.... However I would prefer to have all objectives hidden so that you have to uncover them in the game yourself, rather than looking at the quest objective page and seeing 20 different possible objectives from the get go. Could be tied to Difficulty and Expert Mode. Since I will definitely be playing Expert Mode only, as long as there's no hand holding whatsoever in that, I couldn't care about the normal setting. BG style with a better journal system would suit me fine.

Seal of approval- The battle for Chris Avellone
Pretty sure he would have wanted to collaborate in the first place? Stupid thread is stupid. Both games are probably going to be good.- Torment backers trying to steal our MCA!
I'm glad that they've got Chris involved in the project, I think overseer over creative content is good to make sure the game has the right tone and feel.- Avoid making a encyclopedia lore book about every single thing.
That's... not really analogous. Not as a whole. I was talking about more of the gossipy type stuff where people give their own account of say Robert's Rebellion based on the rumours they've heard. From what Josh has said, NPCs will not be just exposition dumping but taking a similar approach to that (haven't played an Obsidian game since NWN2 so I can't really compare it to New Vegas), that's probably the closest example I know. Most games are guilty of NPC exposition dumps.- Selection Circles option poll
- Torment: Tides of Numenera?
Hahahah ahahahah hah I love seeing some balls in an interview.- Avoid making a encyclopedia lore book about every single thing.
A good example might be the Song of Ice and Fire books by George R. R. Martin, where you hear different accounts of events from different people, and it's interesting to hear the different sides of the story and the inclusion/exclusion or outright lies about various information from different people. They (Obsidian) mentioned that exposition will be handled in a similar manner- Avoid making a encyclopedia lore book about every single thing.
I don't think it will be THAT over the top, considering the approach Sawyer has mentioned on many occasions. They have mentioned quite a few times that while they might be creating a lot of the lore and background information, players will not have access to all (most?) of it, as the inhabitants of the world themselves may not know. The Update George Ziets wrote also hinted at this approach, which I think is good.- In-game achievements, trophies, popups etc
And even still they are not very creative or challenging.- Torment: Tides of Numenera?
it'll probably crack 4- Update #46: How (Proto-)Typical
