    They are free market research for the games developer, all of the information on what people do in the game is available to them. Dragon Age 2 was done like this,with data from the first game gathered as you describe. As far as I'm aware they only looked at the fact that barely anyone finished the game so they made it easier. The fact remains that achievements offer the developer some feedback. If they then go full retard with the results it's not exactly the fault of the information. I'd like to think that Obsidian have more sense than to blindly follow surveys, otherwise we would have a dating simulator for bug people on our hands

They also encourage gamers to play in a way they might not have otherwise. I understand that some people just see them as asinine but they do have value beyond being a gold star for the gamer.

    There was a poll on these forums and it revealed that the majority of people who participated were European. I was surprised too but there you go. The only other thing is that you might get more German donations when paypal is activated since credit cards aren't very popular there but CRPG's certainly are, or so I've heard.

    Cats are much better than dogs in my completely unbiased opinion >_> <_<. I liked the mage familiars of Baldur's Gate 2. It was great to have a little pet. :D

    I really don't like deserts or volcanic areas if I'm playing a game I will either avoid or breeze through desert areas. I like leafy and green areas and snow too. The final area being all volcanic and barren is something that makes me think the devs are lazy. I love underwater stuff so an aquatic area could be cool.

    All of them, Mine are in boxes in the cupboard I think. The Icewind Dale boxes are actually kind of pretty

    I much prefer her new armour it looks great. I can imagine wearing that with my F cups lol! Like Mr Sawyer says there's loads of padding underneath so intensely shaped armour would be kind of silly. As for the gun, if it's a rifle, I can imagine she fires it until the enemy is close then takes them on with weapon and shield. I like this character!

    - Chainmail bikinis - Humans being the dominant race - random loot - repairing...ugh its just busy work. - All the good items being for me-lee characters - spamming health pots - regenerating health. - spawning ninja mobs like DA2. - The whole world being built around the assumption that the player is male. - REPEATED BACKGROUNDS/AREAS NOOO GOD NOOO.

    I think people are being a little hard on this guy, I think easy will be easy because if the devs don't make it so then they have done something wrong. It takes nothing away from my experience if someone wants to play the game on an easier setting so why be an ass about it. I hope the devs consider people like the OP too. Who want to experience the world of eternity but who aren't exactly top notch at crpgs. (Before you reply just remember, I was the one who asked for the super hard ridiculous modes )

    The only way boobplate is bad is if it dips in the middle turning the blade towards the centre of the body. This version of boobplate would be fine, I think. I'd prefer no boobplate tho.

    I like the idea of finding pieces of legendary Items and reforging them. That would be cool. Other crafting feels a bit grindy to me and then there bits of stuff everywhere and it's annoying.

    But...but I always read the Tarantian :< I liked Three Dog even when I was evil, I did kill him eventually though. I wouldn't mind a news system I think It's kind of fun especially if it has kind of a vague, Daily Mailish, doesn't know what actually happened vibe to it

    I would like to see an aquatic race like Water Nymphs or Merfolk. I always imagined my Baldur's Gate characters mum was a water nymph as my player portrait had blue skin and she was a mage ^^.

    I really want new game plus I love it for some reason. I don't think it has to take away from the story or anything not sure why people think that :< Just gives you a chance to explore all the possibilities without starting from scratch.

    I wonder how much extra money the Obsidian Order has raised xD I think the Obsidian Order should be a neutral company of intelligent folks who want to collaborate to make the world a better place regardless of racial and national boundaries

    That's a lot of cats! But I love cats and 14 of them? That's bloody epic! I have a biggish house and I live right near a nature reserve so it's all good :3

    Edair is very handsome yum yum. Nice to hear about the Novella Mr Avellone is a great writer, it's a good incentive.

    this is why I don't think they should be the norm. Occasionally having timed quests is cool. Having one after another feels like you are being forced though. It's a case of bad quest design more than bad mechanics imo. Yes. I completely agree that an entire design predicated on forcing the player relentlessly down the rails is an awful idea. In fact it is just as bad as a design that lets a character sit on his ass for 20 years without any consequences. This is what I'm concerned about I don't want to be forced through the main quest at the speed of light I think something like a note on the quest saying 'must be completed by [date]' would be fine by me. As long as I am warned about it I can deal.
