  1. In all seriousness, so will I. It's the Pillars of Eternity board after all, so I don't see why one would be confused for long about what PoE stands for in the vast majority of posts on these boards.
  2. If you're in the US, then you'll probably get your box pretty quickly.
  3. Well, the guide for PoE does a pretty good job of laying out Project Eternity's game mechanics. For example, things like different Chanter spells and clarifying how the Mechanics attribute works with a character with a high DEX skill. Check the wiki for more info. Not sure why it's so confusing...
  4. Is your husband wanting the game on Steam? If not, redeem from GOG and install it on both your and your husband's rig. GOG allows you to install on as many machines as you want if it's in your household.
  5. Ah, I assumed the OP meant he had ordered a Collector's Edition from Amazon or something (and actual retail edition). If it's the kickstarter reward, then there's supposed to be no DRM on the disc, from what I understand.
  6. I think Brandon said when the game goes live all the extra digital goodies will be unlocked.
  7. None of the summons are permanent though, if memory serves.
  8. In a cruel twist of irony, Batman is playing his press copy of PoE and is too busy to help...
  9. Sounds good. Make it so, Number One. Oh, but just make sure there's PhysX!
  10. Shouldn't that be like the Price is Right though, Grom? Guess without going over?
  11. Yeah, there have been a few people reporting issues with the KS badge not showing up. Have to contact the admins to get it rectified.
  12. That one, I thought, was really fun. Shame you forgot about that. Would have been a great was to pass time while waiting for PoE to release.
  13. Dude, he's a backer. Same pledge level as you. I imagine he's experienced the same glitch as a few others have with the forum KS badge.
  14. "You lot"? Dude, I've been nothing but civil and polite to you. Obviously, you're upset and unwilling to accept that Darren's comment does not prove either intent or that anything was said during the kickstarter, but just to try to clarify one last time: ever since around Monday (not sure exactly when it started), there has been a lot of grief shoveled on the devs by a few posters, mostly in the 'Preload' thread (look a bit further down the forum if you're interested in wading through 24 pages of it) that were basically saying Obsidian cared more about the money than the backers because Obs gave out press copies of the game to the media and didn't give backers access to the game early. Now, I can't 'prove' it, but I think it's fairly clear given what I've seen over the last few days that Darren's comment was spurred completely by this and has no bearing whatsoever on Obs' intent nor any possible kickstarter comments.
  15. Actually, Mad, as I noted in my earlier post, Darren's comments don't prove anything about what was said during the kickstarter. I think you'll find, if you read the wording closely, that he really was responding to the recent complaints re the media getting the game early. Anyway, as noted, it's pretty much moot at this point.
  16. PoE won't have any DRM attached to it on Steam... But I guess people will never learn that. Is this confirmed? Can you link a source? I was going to get my copy form GOG, but if the Steam version is DRM-free, I might grab that one instead. Well, it would seem weird that the devs specifically stated that the backer boxed copies of the game are DRM-free, while the retail copies require Steam. But I guess without input from the devs, we'll find out tomorrow when someone tests it out (I'm sure someone will do so).
  17. This doesn't imply it was mentioned during the kickstarter. In fact, due to the grief the devs were getting for giving press copies to the media while not getting the backers early copies, I'd venture to guess Darren's comment (it was Darren Monahan that said it, I believe) was a direct result of that.
  18. Well, MadPaddy's hardly having a hissy fit. He's just asking a question based on what he remembered Obsidian saying during the kickstarter. No need to rake him over the coals.
  19. No one's jumping on your back or calling you a liar. We're just saying we think you're misremembering. For what it's worth, I backed on the first day as well and followed all the comments for hours on end and I don't recall them every saying that. It's entirely possible that I'm the one that's misremembering though. Wouldn't be the first time.
  20. Try logging out, clear your browser cache, then logging back in. If that has no effect, I'd recommend contacting Support.
  21. Did you buy from Paradox directly? If so, you should contact them.
  22. Yeah, I'm pretty certain that was never said at any point.
  23. If you're talking a game like IWD, where you make all characters in your party and have no companions to recruit, then I can maybe see your point. Other games though, like Wasteland 2 or PoE, where you make one or some of your own but still can recruit others, no. Point is, in Wasteland 2, even though you make up to 4 of your own, you still can recruit other companions. And they made 18 companions for Wasteland 2. So no, I don't get the 'less effort' or 'lazy' argument there.
  24. Yeah it's interesting shifting the mindset to giving casters higher Might and everyone but tanks lower CON.
