Shipping status - "Pending?"
Ink Blot replied to Kaldaien's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It's a glitch with the site not updating. I got an e-mail yesterday informing me my order has shipped, but the portal still says 'shipping soon'. I also bought an extra digital copy of the game and have generated a key for it but the order status still says 'pending'. I wouldn't worry about it. -
That's awfully nice of them but where did they say this? Have I not been paying close enough attention to the last few updates? I don't remember this being mentioned anywhere that I recall. Darth, it's just new this morning. There were some backers that had concerns because they had planned on being able to play their physical and digital copies together with their partners and had asked Obs if Obs would do anything for them, since they had backed with the assumption they'd be able to play both copies on release. So Obs decided to give at least those two tiers an extra digital copy to cover for the fact the physical one was delayed. Darren Monahan posted in a couple of the related threads (one is marked Solved, if you want to have a look for it. Should be on the front page or at worst the second page).

Darren, kudos to you guys for doing this and I don't want to be a jerk here, but does this apply to all tiers or just specific ones? I backed at the $500 tier which includes the physical disc as well as a digital copy. Now, I redeemed the digital already, but was planning on giving a copy to my brother (this is moot now, as he recently passed away). But I'd love to be able to give a digital copy to a friend who has shown interest (I actually bought an extra Hero edition as well, which I plan on giving to another family member). Anyway, just wondering if it's restricted to specific KS tiers or if every physical copy is supposed to get an extra digital key?

I haven't seen a single game release where there aren't a seemingly large number of bugs reported. This game isn't unusual in that regard (and I daresay it's a lot better than many I've seen). Once a game is released into the wild and you go from (assuming a beta period) a few thousand computer configurations to tens or hundreds of thousands, there are bound to be things crop up that were not discovered by QA and beta testers. Honestly, from my experience, the bug reports for this one are fairly minimal compared to a lot of other games.

Just a tip: Don't buy Torment:Tides of Numenera when it comes out. -
Feedback on game

I like some voice acting, but I completely disagree with the OP on its importance. While it can give a good feel for a character, it also has the potential to completely throw you out of the game if it doesn't fit your impression of that character or (even worse) if the VA is bad or inconsistent. I feel bad for the OP, as he's missing out on what looks to be a stellar offering from Obs and has also missed out on two other great games in WL2 and D:OS due to what I feel is something very minor. And that's a shame. Having said that, my impression of the game pretty much mirrors PrimeJunta's. -
Next Fix?
Ink Blot replied to Eurician's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I believe Obs said it's going to be sometime next week before a patch arrives. I'll see if I can find the post.
