  1. Cats rule. Don't dis the cats. If he determines it's F9 time, then it's F9 time. Deal with it.
  2. Okay, apparently I'm just blind. Checked again and there he was. Do not - I repeat - DO NOT get old, folks. *sigh*
  3. Built the Warden's House in the Stronghold, but can't seem to find the Warden. Anyone want to give me a hint where to look for him? What am I missing?
  4. Probably not easy to change at this point, but I'd prefer to see the time value decreased with higher INT. So even though the damage would remain the same (so not raised by higher INT), it would be applied faster with a higher INT. More damage per tick over fewer ticks seems a reasonable modifier for higher INT, IMO.
  5. As Corylea surmised, some quests have stages. You get XP awarded at each stage and that's why it shows a smaller value.
  6. If you follow Bryy's link in his thread, you'll see that Cities made 11.5M, which means PoE is at 7M. We don't know how the profit split with Paradox plays out, so Obs' share is more than likely less than 7M. Still, they've got to be pretty damned pleased with this. As for the backers getting the expansion free: that was actually a backer tier item, so I doubt they'll toss it to everyone for nothing.
  7. Are they really more 'immersion breaking' than just going around slaughtering people in villages for nothing more than their loot? I figured out they were the backer NPCs fairly quickly and then just proceeded to ignore them. You buggers. Of course, now that I know you can pretty much kill them with impunity, and since 'immersion' isn't something that's tenuous and fragile to me...
  8. Actually, you may be right in that they're not one-use. I read it (I think in-game) but now that I think of it, I still have my grappling hook after using it. And I'm sure I only had one. Wonder if Obs decided to change it or if this is a bug?
  9. Same as camping supplies, IMO. Those items are one-use only, I believe, so you need to keep replenishing them.
  10. Even with damage reduction, doesn't your attack deal at least minimal damage though (i.e. no 0 damage)?
  11. LOL - even granting your character would wander into the cave to see what's there, unless you're roleplaying incredibly stupid, I'd suggest he'd decide to not make eye contact and back away slowly. At least, that's what my character did when she got into that cave all alone and having been thoroughly traumatized by the death of two companions as well as having the odd and at that time unexplained experience she had.
  12. While this is true, it actually eliminates a number of tactical options, this reducing your tactical choices. IMO. Note I'm not saying you should be able to pre-buff your party to the ridiculous degree you could in the BG games.
  13. Always your PC in convos. Doesn't matter who is selected to start the interaction. In scripted interactions you may be able to choose an NPC for performing a certain task that has requirements.
  14. You can sneak attack with ranged weapons as well. If you're intent on melee, have your tank sneak in and take aggro. If you get your strikes in during the first couple seconds, then they're sneak attacks. Mobs seem to aggro on the first unit they see, so his buddies should all be focused on the tank.
  15. More likely the bonuses don't stack. Probably only the highest bonus counts.
  16. While plenty of people agree with you, this is not going to change. You actually get a small amount of XP for killing a creature type until you fill up the bestiary (not sure how many creatures you need to kill to do so, but not many). Once you fill the bestiary entry, you get no more XP for killing that type of creature. This was an intended design decision and won't change in a patch (actually, the original design was no XP for kills at all). *edit* It's actually easier for the devs to control how much XP a player will have at any given point in the game if they do the XP awards mostly through quest resolution than by number of kills. So this is why they went that way, apparently.
  17. Yeah, they changed some of the Cipher stuff in the day 1 patch.
  18. Difficulty spikes are pretty common, from what I've experienced and read. I managed the Skuldr king fight with Eder, Aloth and my Rogue at level 3 but just barely. And that was using a couple scrolls I found as well. Eder had 8 HPs at the end of that one. Later on there are Shades that routinely waxed a party of six I had on my first attempt at the game. And they were levels 3 and 4. Difficulty really depends on your party makeup and the abilities/talents you choose. I've not had one in my party yet, but apparently a Cipher will make a world of difference. Also open up with a barrage of ranged attacks and if you have a Rogue make sure you get a shot in during the first couple second of combat, as this will count as a sneak attack for more damage. Of course, like most RPGs I've seen in the last few years there are a number of people complaining that Hard setting is too easy. Anyway, another thing to consider is if you're finding an area too difficult, do some other side quests first and come back. The temple is one of these areas, I think. Very easy to get into there at a level that's too low to complete it.
  19. I'll never understand the obsession with killing children in RPGs. *shrug* Whatever floats your boat I guess.
  20. I'll add another vote for the original BGs as opposed to the Enhanced. Personally I like BG1 better than BG2 (I know that's blasphemy, but I prefer lower level play. Both are excellent games though). If you've already played the originals, then go for PoE.
  21. Yep, close. Enable the console with the ~ key. Hit Enter to be able to input a command. Type iroll20s and then hit Enter again Cheat codes are now enabled. hit the ~ key again and then Enter type God and hit Enter Party is now invulnerable. Input God again to disable God Mode. Just input iroll20s again to disable the cheat mode.
