Everything posted by Nakia

  1. The game was released March 26 so six months after game release would be Sept 26. If Part 1 is scheduled to be released before six months I think July or August would be a fair guess.
  2. I wonder if they offer pacifist / diplomat methods for upgrading. Id hate for some players to be forced to kill everything in the game just to improve their weapons. Actually this makes sense to me. A sword is meant for killing things so a blood drenched soulbound sword should I think be stronger than one seldom used.
  3. In real life stamina and speed are reduced by what armour you wear and what weapons you use. Constitution would and in my opinion should affect endurance recovery. In a fantasy setting these can be offset by enchantments.
  4. The yellow dog can be purchased from several places in Defiance Bay, also the calico cat.
  5. Thanks for posting, I missed it before and it is a rather fun review.
  6. In the USA many place names come from other languages than English, some rather straight forward and others have been some what changed. Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Brooklyn, Gila Bend, Louisville just to name a few.
  7. Not if yo're playing TES games. Then wait for the unofficial patch for the game. Nakia retires to continue playing PoE.
  8. You were not able to bury it? It is the dragon skull facing east near the top east side of the map as I recall. I always enter for that quest near the skeleton.
  9. My guess is we will get patch 2.0 for the core game and then at least one more patch for the Expansion Part 1. The game is quite playable as it is now at least on Windows.
  10. There is nothing wrong with gimmicks if they are interesting in some way or just fun. IMO no one including the developes should take these games too seriously.
  11. I will try and give you an idea of where it is. Go up the right side of the map towards the Salty Mast. There are several thugs there who will be hostile. Fight them and then look for a chest which is locked. It is near by. You should get the option to pick it up. Hope this helps as I can't give you an exact location.
  12. I am one of those who normally finds humans boring. I never ever included a human in my IWD playthroughs. This why I so heartily applause how well Eder is scripted. He is so marvelously human. Ogres are intelligent in PoE so an ogre shaman wouldn't surprise me at all. In fact I would welcome one. Is not fantasy the ability to give our imaginations free rein and dream the impossible dream?
  13. We already have souls bound to objects, The Steward in the Throne, the Head Warden in the statue at the Sanatorium are two examples. They were not bound by Egwithians but by more modern Eora people. In certain scripted events the Watcher has the power to bind souls, Maerwald can be bound to the Stronghold as a defense measure. We have a god who was able to construct a body for himself so we already have a golem god. A golem is a figure artificially constructed in the form of a human being and endowed with life. An ancient mythological creature so nothing unique there. The actual scripting of the character is what will make or break the idea. Time will tell.
  14. You might find this site of interest. I refer to Matt Houston a lot when checking medieval weapons, armour, etc.
  15. I was disappointed with crafting. I would have preferred that there be some restrictions. 1) Cooking available at fires, kitchens, resting with campfire. 2) Potions and enchantments need a lab of some sort. 3) Find, buy, be given recipes. Ingredients can be hard to find but once found you can craft anywhere. On the other hand I wish we could enchant more items such as robes and helmets. Except for a few enchanted helmets I find them a waste of time to equip. Which is not historically correct. Nitpicking maybe but the one thing someone going into combat wanted other than a weapon was head protection. Even a well padded hat/cap was preferable to a bare head. Even hair was used to help protect the head I understand.
  16. Eder is definitely a trope breaker. He is a simple farmer, my brother, my friend, the guy I want guarding my back. The one person I trust with my life. Plus he loves soft, furry things.
  17. It is in the Bailey which is the room near the throne to the right side of the map. Use tab to highlight it.
  18. Wait... if god exists and trolls don't exist, how can we be sure this guy is a troll? He could also just be an idiot. Or a troll pretending to be an idiot. Or an idiot pretending to be a troll. But if science can not prove if he is a troll or not, doesn't that prove that god exists? And if god exists and thus, trolls don't exist, wouldn't the question if he is a troll be answered, which ultimately provides proof that god can not exist, which again throws up the question again if he is a troll? We are running in circles... -^- Schrödinger's cat is alive and well or is it?
  19. Thank you to the Obsidian developers for all their hard work and response to the games fans and critics. They have a difficult job trying to respond to so many people who vary not only in likes and dislikes but in mastery of different elements of the game. Those early IE games had little competition but now we have many games to choose from. Gamers are much more experienced and often feel because they are capable of beating certain games on Insane they are experts on all games of the same or similar category. The forums are getting posters who are having problems at the early level mainly IMO to a lack of understanding how the game works and not doing their research and reading. It will I think be hard for the developers to satisfy everyone and I think an option to scale up enemies would make a big difference. I am looking forward to meeting "The Devil of Caroc" she sounds very interesting to me. I am also thrilled about the change in stealth. Just what I wanted. The rogue assassin was my favorite character to play in the IE games.
  20. To me the companions are fairly straight forward. Eder hero-worships his brother. Aloth is actually a bit more complicated because of his affiliation with the Leaden Key. Kana again to me is straight forward as a dedicated seeker after knowledge although he would like this knowledge to prove his opinions correct. (just as most of us do). I won't list the others but I consider them also fairly simplistic in their problems and quest. I would love to have one more complicated, with more twists.
  21. Since The Devil of Caroc is a construct does she have a conscience or is she in some way just programmed to do what she does? What powers her? Does she have a soul? Is here the possibility that she can and will turn on you? Will Eder be attracted to her? She isn't I assume soft and furry so maybe not.
  22. Hazard, Ky. High Rock Road. Coldiron. Coal Company Road.
  23. I fail to understand the problem with time in PoE. It takes a game hour roughly 4 mins real to pass. One Eora day would take roughly 1 hour and 45 mins real time to pass. Resting and travel are based on the conventions from the IE games. Time moves much faster and that is the way it should be IMO otherwise I would die of boredom or go back to playing Skyrim. PoE like the IE games is story based which is why I backed it. It is an interactive story where my character does make a difference.
  24. I also think the Raedric quest is a bit confusing. You can get it so early in the game but the fight with Raedric can be hard even if you do it on easy. You can get in fairly easily but then comes the fight with Raedric. The first time I tried it I was shocked.
