  1. And even if the voice actor nails it, it can still get all ****ed up. Just try doing a running tally of how many times one character cuts off another mid-sentence in, say, the Mass Effect games, but there's this weird second-long delay between when the first one stops talking and the second actually cuts in. No matter how well delivered the line is, that sort of thing just makes it feel like god damn high-school theatre all over again.
  2. I've been playing some Witcher 2 lately, so any mention of ambient voices absolutely terrifies me. "Plough 'em all, plough 'em all!" "Odrin! Odriiiiiin!" "Not another ****in' stone!" God damn you all.
  3. Hell, it wasn't just villages with unkillable NPCs in Skyrim. Enemy soldier camps had unkillable NPCs. That's ****ed up, yo.
  4. While you are completely right about all that stuff, I can't actually think of a single time a character in PST referred to The Nameless One as The Nameless One - or refer to him as anything else, come to think of it. Borderlands 2 was really bad for this. Even though you were playing a character with a pre-determined name, you're always just "you" or "vault hunter". Which is particularly irritating when you're being talked to by other vault hunters. And it's not like the game never reacts to which character you are; enemies have different lines for fighting different characters (I play Maya so I hear "Shoot the magic chick!" a lot).
  5. Very close. Ultima Underworld. Best map-journal hybrid ever.
  6. I think someone - Josh Sawyer? - specifically said that there won't be a 1:1 match between the classes and the characters, and that's part of the reason for the Adventurer's Hall.
  7. A problem shared by... pretty much any RPG character that ever wore heavy armour. It's a legitimate concern in an RPG, but real militaries had things like supply lines. Hell, as long as there are ice or water magicks, it's irrelevant. I'll confess, it's something that is a minor irritation to me in most RPGs. DAO even showed your character waking up from a rest in full armour from time to time. Also, the helmet of Sutton Hoo is baller-tier.
  8. A problem shared by... pretty much any RPG character that ever wore heavy armour.
  9. Crossroad Keep was the best part of the NWN 2 campaign... ... but I think it was a huge god damn resource sink for Obsidian. While I'd love it, I think it's beyond the scope of PE...
  10. Resurrection, bleh. Unless it's worked in to the setting like in PST, it's a horrible, horrible thing. We'd already revived Khalid a billion times, Jaheira, what the ****?
  11. I'll pass, thanks. Fallout 2, 3, and New Vegas, Baldur's Gate 2, DAO, Oblivion, The Witcher 2, Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic, Gothic 1 and 3... to say nothing of JRPGs like Thousand Year Door, some of the Fire Emblems, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy 7 (and probably others), Breath of Fire 3... Ironically, though, not in the first Elder Scrolls game, "Arena". EDIT: Thousand Year Door had the best arena out of all of those, by the way. You gonna get RAWKED!
  12. Assuming limited animation capabilities: Torment-style all the way.
  13. Easily Aganazzar's Scorcher. Fear my mastery of the straight line, kobolds.
  14. All of those things are totally fine. Much panic and fear over nothing. It seems like this post should have a third sentence so here.
  15. I think the overhaul needs a new companion named Codex. They'll be a new type of mage that uses mana and cooldowns rather than spell memorization. They will be romanceable by either gender. You can not remove Codex from your party.
