  1. There was a big bruhaha here in Europe when Haider got elected in Austria. I never heard anything else about it since, though.
  2. Yeah, but everything else was true. And the fighting sucked anyway.
  3. I'd say NOLF is just a better Half-Life. Considering everyone and their mothers think Half-Life is Teh Greatazt, I don't see how anyone can have any reasons to criticize NOLF.
  4. They do genetic profiling at birth, and only those predestined for greatness are allowed a name that would result in the initials JB. It's true! Joey Buttafuoco
  5. Well, no, I meant streamline. Is it called streaming in industry? Anyway, my point is that, like Dan says, "open" in terms of level design is to do with linearity rather than loading times. I think some people get confused by Morrowind/Oblivion's style and think that only games which streamline loading can be open-ended. That's far from true. That's not streamlining, it's streaming. Streamlining means to reduce something to its minimum components by taking away whatever is deemed superfluous. Streaming means to load the content into memory continuously without stopping the game (or movie, or song, or whatever). Your point still stands, of course.
  6. Portugal is in Western Europe, and it sucks too. Apart from the weather, Austria is certainly a better place to live than Portugal.
  7. I played on asphalt when I was a kid, and it wasn't the particularly smooth kind. Pants were necessitiy, and even then there was a large chance of you getting skinned when falling. I still have a scar on my shoulder from an especially nasty spill.
  8. A mixture of open ended and level based would be nice, to allow for the many different locales befitting of an espionage game.
  9. That makes sense as a ten year would more or less be FF7's target demographic. However, it kind of irks me when adults, even young ones, talk of FFVII like it's some kind of high point in storytelling. It was just a "look at the nice graphics!!!" fest.
  10. Final Fantasy VII's gameplay is, to me, fairly awful and uninspired. This thread has a very high chance of going south.

I loved this episode, except for the bit where they kill off Zo
  12. I imagine that the goal is about as large as regular 5v5 goal. And the same would go for the dead area. That's what I mean when I say it should be very easy.
  13. I just noticed his watch is also quite cool. Funnily enough, I am white, with dark hair and an average build. Also, I wear baggy pants, sneakers, and one colour T-shirts. So maybe I look like the guy on the cover.
  14. Actually, doesn't he look a bit like J.E. Sawyer?
  15. But without a goalie, and with a area in front of the goal where no one may enter? It just seems too easy. Hoofing the ball over the players, accurately, at that distance is a piece of piss. It doesn't even have to be a very strong shot, as there is no one to stop the ball on arrival.
  16. That you are an asset to your team?
  17. Which recent games improve upon NOLF2?
  18. no. How about a minor character? Please? It's just that it's awesome...
  19. You should make MT to look like your avatar.
  20. I'm guessing playing with the Ass. Prod. on your team can be an advantage, no?
  21. Those are some really, really low scores. How do you manage to miss a goal that has no keeper and a huge open space in front of it? Considering it's a 50 metre long playing field, you should be able to just hoof the ball into the goal from your own half.
