  1. Everyone talks about how SS2 with coop is awesome, so I'm not sure that's true.
  2. Better AI used to be the point of waiting for new Tactical FPS titles for me. I kept hoping for some tactical game to show with properly good AI. Never happened, unfortunately.
  3. Could you elaborate? Also, Google came up with Ground Branch.
  4. That's still a rumor, though, and X-Com is usually a strategy game. Also R6 now has health regeneration among other things which make it a game to avoid for me.
  5. Yeah, but that came out 2 or 3 years ago. What's new? Ghost Recon was quite realistic, but I heard that when they added the AW, the realism bit was axed. Isn't this true?
  6. Now that the Rainbow Six threw the tactical planning map and the realism out the window, are there any FPSs out there, or in development, that follow the original Rainbow Six formula? For those that don't know, this means having the aforementioned tactical map, and an heavy emphasis on realism with accurately modeled weapons, proper damage models, and no healing during missions.
  7. That's not true, quite a few games have been released as Freeware that used to be commercial titles. Lately some fairly recent games have been released for free download as well, like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and FarCry (albeit with advertisements built in.) Some games are even re-worked by fans to make them playable on todays systems, like SCUMM and the Sierra adventure games. In fact I'm surprised that more publishers don't release old titles for free download, it would give them a good idea about what properties still have enough interest to warrant a new version. I know. Note the following quote of mine in reply to Xard's questions.
  8. No. And they won't, unless EA decides to offer SS2 for free.
  9. This topic is a bit on the edge, but I think it might work if it is taken towards such questions: "Are people in general, dumb? And if so, is humanity doomed because of it?"
  10. It's not legal to download commercial games, even if they're no longer available.
  11. Some are quite humorous. The gravity one is awesomely funny, and also: "True Christians should only read English." ROFLCOPTER
  12. I'm sure it's possible to find equivalently stupid quotes from nonreligious or moderately religious people.
  13. Tried and failed to play Thief. Apparently the game no longer works with Geforce 7 cards, unless you are willing to roll back the drivers.
  14. You can turn off Vita chambers now. Unfortunately, the game is still easy and badly designed.
  15. If you know how to use strafe, the wrench should be enough.
  16. I wouldn't call Odysseus a monster hunter. While he offs lots of monster like creatures, he doesn't really go on a hunt for them. He just defeats them to survive. Edit: I forgot an obvious one: Gilgamesh.
  17. Saint George, Perseus, Hercules, Bellerophon, The Old Man, Christy Brinkley, Claudia Schiffer, Pokemon's cast.
  18. I won't ignore it, but I'll be real suspicious. Also, I'm not so sure Irrational still exists in the same way as before the buyout.
  19. The whole idea of making a sequel is dumb except from a profit point of view. Of course, as Bioshock was already mostly about the profit, there will be some sort of continuity.
  20. Well, that's another problem. "Franchise". They can fork off with that. And besides, considering it is a franchise now, and how Bioshock was a big commercial success, I don't see how 2K is going to let the Marin guys change the Bioshock formula too much. Also, KL has repeatedly stated that 2K had nothing to do with the dumbing down. That video of Chris Kline doing an analysis of Bioshock's development is quite enlightening on how things went on behind the scenes. Edit: Saying "yes" to the player is biggest load of crap I've ever heard.
  21. I don't think it's a particularly good game, actually, even if you just take it as just a pure action FPS. Enemy AI is pretty bad and lack of enemy variety doesn't help either. The soundtrack is good, and the artwork is good. The beginning and the "magical plot point" are also good if you take them by themselves. However, if taken within the context of the game they just make the whole experience feel worse.
  22. Disappointment of the year.
  23. False alarm, then. Back to waiting for info on Obsidian's new IPs.
  24. When typing I use the three middle fingers of my left hand and the pointer and the middle from my right hand. The strange thing is that I never use my left thumb, even though it's effectively resting on the space bar the whole time I type. Also, I only look at the screen to correct typos, which may happen during the writing (if I notice the typos right after making them), or only after the writing. I'm very fast with the fingers I do use, I just don't use that many fingers in typing.
