  1. Considering about every single RPG released in the past decade is stupidly easy, I'd appreciate if people stopped complaining about the game's difficulty. It's not like they don't have any options. Not every game has to appeal to the same people. In any case, I seriously doubt Dragon Age is any harder than, say, BG2.
  2. Well, obviously I'm not 100% sure, and there may be minor improvements to the code from game to game, but I'd be really surprised if they repeated the same work year in and year out. They probably just feel the new matchmaking system is a potentiallly excellent source of revenue and that dedicated servers would be taking away from that revenue. More control equals more money.
  3. Yes, but all the work has already been done previously. It's the same multiplayer game as before with the same net code.
  4. In any case, today, adding dedicated server support to a game must be free, especially if the last iteration of their game supported it.
  5. They are trying to turn the PC into as much of a console as possible. Also, I didn't say it's an evil secret scheme. They are just following the game plan they feel will allow them to be more commercially, successful. Other than piracy being a reason for anything, overall, I agree with you. My beef with them, is that they are trying to turn the PC into a closed system for gaming, which is more or less negating the point of PCs. I can certainly understand why they're doing it, but I don't really agree that it is the best way to be successful, and I jsut like the notion of open systems in general. It's the same reason why don't like the iPod, for example.
  6. So that they can slowly turn PC gamers into console gamers. Like by removing dedicated servers which not only turns the PC experience into a worse experience right off the bat, but also limits the ability of the players to run mods and custom maps in multiplayer. It's all about the long term consequences.
  7. They are not fighting piracy, they just want everyone playing on a console to maximize profits.
  8. Except it doesn't.
  9. What's the problem? Aiming is much, much easier with a mouse. Anyway, like RE4 the trick to RE5 gameplay is moving around. Regardless of the control method, all you need to do is not waste ammo. Keep shooting until some zombie is about to jump you, then move to a safe distance. Repeat forever and ever, until you realize the action gameplay is grounded in a design concept that is not only flawed, but utterly and completely retarded. It's repetitive, annoying, stupidly easy and immersion breaking. It's just shooting hordes of stationary targets in the face.
  10. So, the origins and levelling up work like Seiken Densetsu 3?
  11. It sounds a bit nutty in a paranoid way, but I'd call this a deliberate attack on PC gaming.
  12. I've never been to a LAN-party without Internet access. Have you? I have.
  13. Yes. It's even easier than with a gamepad.
  14. That just means you did the planning wrong. You are not going to waltz in a location before covering the higher ground for possible snipers.
  15. You're just a sissy with no reflexes.
  16. I was under the impression that AP's core content was done, already. Is that correct?
  17. Settlers 2, Gothic 2 and and Disciples 2 are all good options and of the gold variety.
  18. I thought that in general all the bodies had weird proportions. The dwarves look like bearded orangutans.
  19. My ping to that server has almost tripled and my speed has increased a little bit. Bell did something to our line today and it's a little bit faster than before. It's more noticeable on the wired connection where we've got a full 5Mb/s down! Your connection was probably changed to interleaved to improve stability.
  20. You can save the character and use them when the game comes out, and you can upload the portrait to the social site. You didn't know about the six origins? Humans can be Human Noble or Mage. I haven't really been paying a whole lot of attention. All I knew is that there were origins, not how many there were or if there were any restrictions. Anyway, what I really wasn't expecting was an inability to choose spells and skills at character creation. Meaning that your mage will be almost the same as every other mage, at least as far as gameplay is concerned. Of course, as this is party based, that may be a very minor issue.
  21. I hate you with the intensity of a 1000 suns.
  22. The only thing you can specify is background. However, even that depends on your class and race. If you are human, for example, you never have a choice. Ditto for all mages. Oh, and you have 5 points to assign to your stats. It's all very disappointing. At least, the very meagre options you have could allow for complex consequences on how the plot unfolds and how you play the game. On account of having so few possibilities to cover, that is.
  23. If you happen to follow option 1, I'd recommend Eastern Europe. Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia and the like. Gorgeous cities, good beer, a multitude of cultures, and if you get out of town you should be able to see great sights.
