  1. I had an XFX card for a couple of years and it never gave me a single problem. Anecdotal evidence is fun!
  2. Well, the humor is the one thing I'll give Buffy. Whedon can write some pretty funny dialogue, especially one liners. The drama, though, I really didn't feel it. In any case everything is swamped by "Do I love him?" "Don't I love him?" "But he's a vampire!" "But he is good!" "Now he is evil!" "I love her!" "I hate her!" "I hate him!" "I love him" "I love him but he doesn't love me!" "I like her but I'm a werewolf!" "I like him but he's a werewolf!" "I love her but I'm geek and she got killed!" "We betrayed our lovers with our best friends!" "I'm an evil, soulless vampire who's in love with another evil soulless vampire even if she's crazy!" They spend more time emoing than fighting the supernatural.
  3. After recently watching 3 whole seasons of Buffy, I'm going to venture a guess and say Firefly is Whedon's only really good show. Buffy seems like a sequence of really awful romance plot arcs, glued together with supernatural spit. It just doesn't hold together.
  4. Now, that's an informed opinion.
  5. As I've never tried one, I don't have any recommendations. This is the first to show on through Google. It doesn't say anything about restarting the game, so I'd imagine restarting is not required.
  6. There are mods for weapon repair, but not in the vanilla game.
  7. Since the introduction of accelerated graphics, that video cards have almost always been bottleneck. Only with certain specific games is that not true. Your CPU is fine!
  8. But the part of the game shown in the video didn't seem particularly hard at all.
  9. Was the bit played in that video not indicative of DA's overall difficulty?
  10. Being knocked down in combat results in an injury that reduces your stats or abilities until you're treated. Meaning they just stopped calling "death" what, patently, already wasn't death. It's treating the symptom, but not the disease.
  11. How about a gameplay mechanic where dead is dead outside of reloading, and party NPC death has definite effects on the relationship between the player and the rest of the party? Heck, it will even help create an empathetic bond between the player and the NPCs, thus giving weight to the narrative and its characters through gameplay. After all, if Bioware are the self-proclaimed champions of storytelling in games, they could starting acting like it, instead holding the development of narrative in games back.
  12. I wasn't overly impressed by the combat in that giant Bomb vid, mostly due to the gamepaly balance. It seems too easy, especially if you take in consideration that those guys were playing the game like untrained monkeys, that they were mostly leaving the companions uncontrolled and that Bioware included the now standard, dying is meaningless mechanic. I imagine the combat will be more rewarding for players who like to leave everything to the AI rather than the ones that control everything BG style. The only thing I did like in the vid was the interface from the inventory to the colored circles. All that said, I'll probably buy it when I can get it for 20
  13. The brand usually doesn't really matter. Just get whatever is the better deal. Anyway, with the performance you are enjoying right now, you'd see a definite visual improvement if you bought the 4870.
  14. I have just registered on blip.fm. I'm mundanesoundtrack.
  15. I'm pretty sure numbersman was once in the military.
  16. Yeah, the generic soldiers are made useless by that change. However the huge number of different leaders at your disposal still gives you a healthy dose of choices to balance that. Also, the game is as challenging as you want it to be. There are loads of unique, optional beasties that are pretty hard to take out. Oh, and DO NOT forget that you can skip the plot.
  17. What's your monitor's resolution? In principle you should be able to play all games out now(except maybe Crysis) maxed with a cheap graphics card upgrade. This would be the best choice for someone on a budget right now.
  18. From what I've seen the 360 version is very buggy, poorly optimized, and has less features than the PC version. Also, the balance was apparently improved. http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Differen..._and_PC_version
  19. But there's a big gap between the three of them! I saw Drunken Master yesterday, 12 Angry Men this morning and Shadow of a Doubt this afternoon. Now I'm trying to decide between Bronenosets Potyomkin; Roma, citt
  20. This is actually a really good opportunity for Obama to look humble and wise by refusing the award. If played well, it could really help his popularity.
  21. Well, "Great Soul" Gandhi was a war loving kind of guy in his youth.
  22. He takes his place next to unequivocal proponents of peace and love like Yasser Arafat, Kissinger, Menachem Begin.
  23. If your PC can take it, this is essential: STALKER Complete 2009
  24. Drunken Master Great fun with incredible coreography. 12 Angry Men Brilliant, of course. Shadow of a Doubt Pretty damn good, mostly due to the awesome script.
