  1. I'd like a whole game set in old European cities from Budapest to Lisbon, passing through Florence, Barcelona, Stockholm, Prague, Paris, Edinburgh and Vienna. It could be a noir adventure/FPRPG set in the 30s. And I'm talking real locations, not fictional locations that are inspired by the real thing.
  2. You must be doing something wrong because one general complain is that the Wasteland is a bit too packed and busy.
  3. Just in case anyone thinks I didn't like The Witcher, let me say I enjoyed it a great deal, and in fact I'm replaying it right now. I simply think it was, in a few ways, a wasted opportunity. The combat was crap but just a step away from entering combo awesomeness, and, like I said before Geralt really was a bad choice for a protagonist, especially in a game that tries to take itself so seriously.
  4. I don't know if it is part of the literature, but you do get some casual remarks along the way implying that the sexual prowess of witchers is legendary. Maybe a side effect of the mutagens? I think it's just the way Geralt is portrayed in the books.
  5. The Witcher's biggest problem was that you played Geralt instead of your own character. Not that I have anything against predetermined PCs generally, it's just just that in the case of The Witcher, it lead the developers into the crooked path of fan fiction, which screwed up the main character's development and turned him into some sort of magical superhero. The amnesia and all the sex were part of that. And the fact that no one outside of Poland knew who the hell Geralt was only made things worse.
  6. Seeing as you seem to not care what we say, follow these steps next time you are with her in public: 1. Lick your lips seductively. 2. Jump her bones. 3. get bitch slapped and/or kicked in the 'nads. 4. Pleadingly propose to marry and give her children, through the tears of pain. 5. Bask in your success.
  7. It's probably something she really wants, and she finds it safe to talk to you about it, because she isn't interested in you in any way. Her wishes call for financial stability, not a young artist type guy who works in games.
  8. She's nuts. On its own, the strategy map in Total War games is pretty bland and superficial, even if there's been definite improvement since Shogun.
  9. Fab game. One of the best TB strat games ever. I still have my CD from years ago. DId the developers ever continue on with their follow-up? LAst I heard they had basically stopped worked because no one would pick it up for any sort of publishing deal. Actually, I think the story is that they actually finished Supernova, the sequel, but never found anyone to publish it.
  10. Have you played MOO and its sequel? Also Stars! is absolutely awesome, just completely devoid of graphical bling.
  11. Isn't Bilal still working on the Hatzfeld books? Good stuff is still being done. Massimiliano Frezzato would be a good example of an excellent comic book artist. Also, Val
  12. Moebius and Bilal are still alive and kicking. And good stuff is still being done in Europe.
  13. And then there's this style of doing business. By the way, why isn't there a big RPG company actively working the niche RPG market like Paradox does for strategy?
  14. Watching some Bayonetta videos got me to install DMC3 again. Check out what it says at the end of the installation, regarding WMP: Stellar work right there.
  15. I remember seeing a lot of returned Torment copies in stores here in Portugal. I think a lot of people actually didn't like it.
  16. For any time, Sargy. It's one of the best games ever.
  17. That's because it's Miyazaki. Miyazaki is the anime equivelant of Pixar - there's something for everyone to enjoy. Pixar is awesome and all, but they really aren't in the same league as Miyazaki. And John Lasseter agrees with me. Howl's Moving Castle is not the best Miyazaki movie by a long shot but it's still better than pretty much any animated feature not by Miyazaki from the past 10 years. See, quality is not at all the comparison I tried to make. I meant as in both their animated movies are almost universally well-liked because everyone can find something enjoyable in them. (Although I have to say that yes, while Miyazaki is usually way out of Pixar's league, Pixar has it's moments of triumph. For example, the first segment of Up goes toe to toe with anything Miyazaki has to offer IMO). I have to admit though, Princess Mononoke is my favourite animated feature of all time. (Also, I agree with Pidesco, including the part about Grave of the Fireflies. Be warned though, that film has brought many a grown man to outright weeping!) I definitely agree about Up. The introductory segment about Carl's life was quite simply magical. Up is just a bit disappointing after it turns into action adventure mode. A similar thing happened with Wall-e. Anyway, Pixar's animation skills are nothing short of awesome. The bird in Up, for example, was incredible. I am not ashamed to say that Grave of the Fireflies had me crying like a little girl.
  18. My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke are probably the best ones, and simply essential. If you're into animation, then you should see all of them and throw in Takahata's Grave of the Fireflies for good measure. I'll be seeing Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea later today.

  20. It makes the kids seem like kids, instead of sanitized, Hollywood versions of children?
