I'm for additional VO especially if it adds to the ambience and colors the personality of more NPCs that we encounter in the game world. Doesn't have to be and shouldn't be full VO, but if more interactable NPCs have their first sentence recorded, that's cool. Background cacophony in busy markets and taverns is always a plus as well.

This is where I'm particularly glad we have Sawyer's sensibilities as Project Director.

What's the fantasy equivalent of swiping right? -
Nah, the pledging curve is about normal. This was the original distribution from 2012. Actually, Kickstarter drew 73K. Thanks for the graph! Let's hope the closure will have a great spike!. Can't wait. Edit Actually what i'm stressing here is not the amount. Is the amount of backers. Average per backer is very high for the amount. What's actually important for a crowd funding campaign is the amount of backers IMO. So right now it's just 17K (not even 17K yet at this point of the post) vs 73K backers. The amount of interest for a game should > the amount of money pledged per backer. Yes, Deadfire is way off the pace on the number of backers compared to PE. I haven't seen nearly as much media coverage this time around.

You'll get the opportunity to pick your size and enter your shipping address after the campaign when we are transitioned over to Obsidian's backer portal here on this site. -
The player character and companions will have their own watercolor style portraits that will be utilized in this UI. We all agree it looked very odd to have the fully painted portraits alongside the NPC portraits. I seriously dislike this. It's like BG1 -> BG2 all over again. I prefer portraits from BG1 more than BG2. Mike Sass made the portraits for The BG series. He went away from the BG1 style because they were actually modeled by Bioware employees. The internet was mean and made fun of their looks. So he changed them up for BG2. Improvements in my opinion. But the IWD/IWD2 portraits by Jason Manley and Justin Sweet are the gold standard.
