    I know he's held in high esteem by certain Marines in this forum, and reports indicate he's competent, very intelligent, and nuanced --but like a separation of powers between the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary bodies of governmrnt, there should be an explicit chain of command of clear civilian leadership over the military at the Pentagon. That's why the 8 (formerly 10) year rule between military service and DoD leadership is in effect. It's a good and prudent law.

    Per 10 U.S. Code ยง 113: (a) There is a Secretary of Defense, who is the head of the Department of Defense, appointed from civilian life by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. A person may not be appointed as Secretary of Defense within seven years after relief from active duty as a commissioned officer of a regular component of an armed force. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/10/113 An important tenet of our military is the explicit civilian oversight of the armed forces.

    To be fair, that's because all the votes hadn't been counted yet when these "low turnout" reports started coming in. In this election cycle, fear and hate trumps love. As of a couple days ago, the count had 58.1% total eligible voter turnout vs. 58.6% in 2012. The projection is that it'll be higher than 2012 once all the votes are officially tallied.

And then, there's Karl-Anthony Towns. He's a beast. There's documented evidence that he actually survived a deathmatch against Dhalsim. I mean, c'mon --have you seen Dhalsim recently??

    If only that were true. While it is true that there are millions of people world wide that don't buy their BS anymore, the sad and scary truth is that many more millions still slurp it up, subconsciously if not consciously. On top of that, while there are millions who don't buy the mainstream media's BS anymore, many of these millions still do suffer from believing misinformation that they did buy from it before they woke up to the fact that it was a BS peddling store.

    There's a very sizable portion of the populace in the U.S. that has been wishing almost daily for the last couple of decades for California to fall into the ocean, like some geologists have promised us. Many of these folks will very happily suffer a spike in veggie prices if need be. Californians are useless. Except in Otisburg. They know how to roll.
