For some reason it reminds me of...
Hearing Ace of Bass reminds me of Robotech. Mostly because I was reading the first set of 3 Robotech books while on a road trip with my family, and my parents have The Sign in the CD player for most of the trip.

'Realism' vs. Realism
One example I have is Suikoden III and IV. Suikoden 3 had bright rich heavily stylized graphics with keyframed animations, while Suikoden IV had more realistic graphics with motion capture. The result was that Suikoden III had a far superior visual style, and the animation was great, while Suikoden IV was bland and the motion captured animations just didn't fit with the in game characters. Starship Troopers Demo!
I wanted to buy the first one but couldn't find it for less than 35 bucks. Then I lucked into a two pack of 1 and 2 for 25. So not only did I get the first one for 25 bucks less, but I also got the 2nd one for free. And it wasn't *that* bad. It had nice boobies.

Obsidian Way off Topic...
Oerwinde Attack: 1 Defense: 1 Oerwinde is a "Lurker" type card Whenever a thread devoted to 80s cartoons is posted, Oerwinde gains +5/+5 and Trample When a new game is announced, Oerwinde gets +3/+3 until end of turn When jaguars4ever is put into play put one Transfan token on Oerwinde. Put one Transfan token on Oerwinde every turn that jaguars4ever is in play. Remove 5 Transfan tokens to put a Constructicon token into play. These act as 1/1 creatures. Sacrifice 5 Constructicon tokens to put a Devastator token into play. When Devastator is in play, opponent loses. No one can beat Devastator. I figure that accurately describe's my posting pattern in CCG terms.

Rising Gas Prices..
I thought it was funny a couple years ago when me and some friends went down to Seattle for a concert. We rented a car, a Buick Century. Anyway, at the time it cost me around 40 bucks to fill my Ford Escort back at my parents place. In Washington state, it cost 20 to fill the Buick. We thought that was awesome. Yet there were people online bitching about how gas was sooo expensive. Now gas is something like 1.35 a litre in Quebec. Which is something like $5.30 a gallon. The crazy thing is, that gas is now around 1.10 a litre in Vancouver... yet Translink isn't reporting any increase in transit usage. So people don't seem to care that its that much. It costs me 70 bucks a month to use transit. If I had a car it would cost me roughly 400 a month. (150 for insurance, 50 a week in gas, 50 for parking). Simply by using transit you save yourself hundreds of dollars a month. It just makes so much sense I don't understand why more people don't do it.

RPG editors
There are some pretty impressive hakpacks out there you can use to add variety. I even managed to build a village into the side of a mountain with minimal stepped pyramid effect.

If Fox News had been around...
I was watching this documentary the CBC did about Fox News and how Bill O'Reilly has had like 3 canadian guests on his show, two of them prominent liberal activists and one of them a far right conservative talk radio host with 2 sexual assault convictions. Guess which one he treated with respect.

Old Black Isle board
My post count never got too high, when I really started getting active in the forum it was in the movies/books/politics forums, then someone suggested someone kill the president, everyone agreed, and bam, no more community. Everything went downhill after that. It was odd though, I never really felt at home at Missy's lair, even though it was all the same people.

The Moderators.
Well, Eldar was a major poster before being a moderator, and has been around since the old BIS boards, Fionavar was too, but he doesn't do much posting unless he's closing threads or warning us he's closing threads. Authority does have a sense of humor though.

What's your dirty little secret?
I don't really have any dirty secrets. Closest I come is that I take advantage of girls who reject me then later regret it to score naked pictures or webcam stripteases.

What sequel do you want made.....
Movie: Constantine, Batman Begins(though I doubt I have to hope much, this is pretty much a given), Transformers(not even out yet and I'm hoping for sequels), Serenity(again, not out yet, but I want sequels to tie up any loose ends from the show that don't get covered in the first movie), Unbreakable, I'm sure theres more that I can't think of. Games: Quest for Glory 5, Iceind Dale 2, BG2, PS:T, Fallout 2, Suikoden 4, Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Cross, Arcanum, Alpha Centauri, I'm sure theres more and I just can't think of them As for some of the other things people mentioned: -Kung Fu Hustle is getting a sequel -Boondock Saints 2 was being shopped around because they couldn't find a studio willing to do a wide theatrical release of a sequel to a direct to video movie. They apparently found one and pre-production is in full swing

funny government/lawyer/judicial/political stories
And thats why they put cup holders in cars. If it had been in the cup holder instead of between her legs, then maybe she could have avoided being burned.

How old are you?

NHL is back
Much like how Vancouver went downhill once Linden got traded, then went back up once they got him back. He may not be the best player, but I just can't imagine the team without him. I'd expect once he retires that he'd come back on in some role, maybe coaching or something.

Design you own game!
Yeah, the missions would be Xcom/Jagged Alliance/FOT style, but then there would be a resource management/base building part that would be like half the game. I just figured since FOT was fun (for me at least), and I liked stuff like evil genius and dungeon keeper, combining both would be cool. I figured it could come with a bit of a toolkit too, so people could design their own missions that would come up as options during the game as well.

Design you own game!
Anyway, I was thinking of a game a couple months ago I thought was a really cool idea. It was a turn based squad based strategy RPG with base building and such. Basically you start out as a single mercenary, you do jobs and spend your reward money on new equipment and possibly a base of operations. Once you have a base of operations you can equip it and hire more mercenaries for your company etc. As you get more money and are able to get more advanced equipment for your base it opens up missions you couldn't do without that equipment etc. For example once you have a shuttle launch pad (Sci-Fi setting for this) you can start doing off world missions, while before you were limited to earth. Eventually your base will be too small and you can expand and buy more buildings to equip and hire researchers and stuff to create new equipment and then both use it, and patent and sell it for more profit. Once you expand enough you can either just sit back and manage your company, and send off your mercenaries to do jobs, or you can hire accountant and management staff to handle it for you, and you can just go off on missions.

What music are you listening to right now?
My filthy filthy illegally pirated copy of the new Our Lady Peace album and the new 30 seconds to mars album. I'll probably buy both, depending on how much the OLP album grows on me. So far I think its their worst. The 30 seconds to mars album on the other hand is far superior to their first album.

The U.N. is ridiculous, seriously ridiculous
I read the thread title and thought of Dirty Work. "Ridiculous. You know what hurts most? The lack of respect... well, that other thing, that hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most. Ridiculous."

Revenge of the Sith
Yes, he was a pioneer whose contributions can not be overlooked. He was always bad with dialogue. He allowed others to step in and write scripts (and direct) on Empire and Jedi. Too bad he didn't do the same with the prequels or why might have gotten better films. The Young Indy films were supposedly quite good though I didn't see them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Lucas is one of those people who is great at coming up with ideas, but has no idea how to flesh them out or execute them properly. As part of a team he would be unstoppable, unfortunately he wants to do everything himself, and thats his weakness.
