And it really shouldn't be that way.
  2. I agree on the Jedi thing. Instead of merely gaining enough influence and bam, jedi party members, you should have had to get enough influence to convince them, then 4 or 5 conversations/cutscenes later, then they could become jedi.

Going back and re-watching the old batman movies, even the Burton ones weren't very good. The much lauded Jack Nicholson Joker was just Jack Nicholson playing Jack Nicholson, only with a high pitched laugh and bad makeup. And his crazy messed up versions of Catwoman and Penguin were horrid.
  4. Were they class 5? Anyway, looks like God hates the south.

Hehe, a little out of the loop? When Singer signed on to do Superman he left X3, they signed Brett Ratner, director of Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2 to take over something like 4 months ago. Its like Brett Ratner decided "Hey, people complained Storm and Cyclops barely got any screen time compared to the others in the first two movies, so I'll just add like 9 new characters that way no one gets any screen time!"

I can't remember who it was that had the thread on how much they're screwing up X-Men 3, but anyway, it appears to be long gone so heres a nice little tidbit: they currently have slated a fight scene involving 22 characters, plus faceless extras. TWENTY-TWO CHARACTERS. Brian Singer... we miss you. Though it will be awesome to see Colossus vs Juggernaut.
  7. I'm glad I don't live anywhere theres a danger of Hurricanes. Luckily instead I live on the ring of fire and we're about 10 years overdue for a major earthquake.
  8. Ooh... that's creepy... DL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I should have said Me Grimlock want to munch metal. OR Me Grimlock no bozo, me king! He doesn't say Me Grimlock no kisser, me king! until after the beat up the sharkticons and meat up with Ultra Magnus and the others on the planet of junk. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Destroy Unicron, kill the grand pubah, eliminate even the toughest stains.
  9. Ah, you misunderstand. I have a 30GB cap on my 128k connection. If I upgrade to a T1, I'll have a 3GB cap. 4 episodes of Battlestar Galactica a month already takes me to over 1GB. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd say just stick with the 128 then. The only reason to get the faster connection would be to download lots of large files. If I had a t1 connection I'd be downloading full seasons of TV in high quality, one season would put me over a 3 GB cap 2 or 3 times, so I don't see a point.

Well wouldn't a bad batch turn to vinegar, much like wine, vinegar being a main ingredient in pickle juice?

Sake is really neat hot. Its like it evaporates as it hits your tongue.
  12. I know he felt stressed because he was making all sorts of money so all his friends turned into money grubbing **** and he needed to get away. And I think he recently converted to Islam, and the whole not feeling the show was as funny as it should be.
  13. Hrmm, The first 3 books of the Song of Ice and Fire series The 4 books of the Darksword Trilogy. (yes I know, I think its odd too) The Wheel of Time books, minus the prequel that should never have been written because he should be finishing the damn series before writing prequels.

Well, I went to the place that the meadery said had their stuff, and they didn't. They suggested the liquor store across the street because it was a specialty store, not only did it carry the regular stock of liquor store items, but also a way larger variety of wines. They didn't have it either. So I'm going to have to buy it online I spose. I found one place that didn't force me to buy 6 bottles, instead they recommend buying 3, otherwise they can't guarantee the bottle will get to me intact. Problem is, I don't want to buy 3 bottles then find out I don't like the stuff.
  15. Wow, watching that head tutorial makes it look so simple. I'll need to give this a try. Right now I use XSI for my modelling as the modelling tools are so much easier than 3DSMax and while Maya was easy as well, I just preferred XSI.
  16. Just a note of interest for people disappointed in Supernatural. The WB passed on Global Frequency in favor of Supernatural. Global Frequency has been gaining a reputation as the most popular TV show to never air because of the leaked pilot.

Now I'm looking up drinking horns, because they're cool and all. And they're bloody expensive. Well, for my budget at least. Found one really nice one on ebay, but its in GBP and the exchange rate will kill me. The auction is at like 5 bucks, which is the equivalent to like 10 bucks CAD, plus 8 GBP shipping, so right there its 26 bucks. And thats not even my bid. If I bid, chances are it will go to at least 15, GBP, so thats like 30 bucks, plus shipping. Then when it gets here depending on the guy who ships it I might get customs fees, which would be another like 15 bucks. So thats like 60 bucks for it. Then again, the shipping on any of the other auctions is like 24 GBP. 50 bucks for shipping alone. I live in Burnaby, BC. Suburb of Vancouver. The BC Liquor store doesn't carry it, though they have really large sections devoted to asian liquor. There was one bottle that had a whole pear in it. It was neat. Though its annoying that they carry absinthe, but not mead. (even if it is the crappy absinthe) The place that apparently carries it is called Liberty Wine Merchants. The Tugwell Creek website said they carry their stuff, but the LWM website doesn't mention it.

Well, I'm going down to the place I found tomorrow to see if they have any. BC's first meadery started up in 2004 and their website said this place sells their products so I'm gonna see if I can get a bottle of the regular stuff, some sack mead, and if I have enough money left over, some metheglin. If I don't like it, being honey based I can probably just mix it with tea :D

So I was watching the 13th Warrior the other day and watching those vikings downing all that mead got me wondering what it was like. So now I want to try it but I've found that its really hard to come by, yet apparently really popular with home brewers. I finally found a place that supposedly sells it but I wanted to know if any of you folks have tried it and know what its like, or can even recommend a good online retailer.
  20. I have one of those. It came with my DVD player. No rumble function though.
  21. Movies, Comics, work. Thats about it. If I had any friends nearby that played, I'd probably be playing Magic: The Gathering too. But all my friends that play live in Victoria, while I'm 3 hours away in Vancouver.
  22. Yeah, EA's presence in Vancouver is huge. They employ something like 1500 people in the greater Vancouver area. I believe with just the EA Canada Burnaby location and EA Black Box downtown, that covers every EA sports and racing title with the exception of Madden. I read somewhere that Vancouver is actually becoming North America's largest game development center, with something like 2500 people employed in game development, and when EA's expansion and hiring spree is finished, it will be around 3500.
  23. If the director of Bourne Supremacy is involved, that's already one reason for me to avoid the movie. Bland story, passable acting, offbeat action sequences. I'm sure it rocked for casual movie goers and sofa experts who search IMDB for other's opinions, though. Apparently not every reviewer enjoyed Watchmen's script, considering I've read a couple of reviews which didn't took lightly to some of the changes (this being one of them). Adrian Veidt's plan is apparently replaced by Hrmm, the way I heard it, they Oh well. Anyway, I personally liked the Bourne Supremacy. Not quite as good as the Bourne Identity, but an excellent sequel. And being based on a book, you can't really blame the story on the director, though personally I didn't see any problem with it. John Cusack is too athletic to play Dan Dreiberg, though, and he doesn't strike me as a good choice. Cusack can play many roles, but I don't think Nite Owl would be one of them. David Caruso should be Rorscharch, though. And for some odd reason, when I think Dan Dreiberg I imagine a fatty Jeff Goldblum. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actors can gain weight for a role. Stallone did it for Copland, Ray Liotta did it for Narc, its not an uncommon practice. He has the chops and the face to pull it off. Rorschach is a tough one though, because the guy has to be ugly, and able to pull off Rorchach's intensity.
  24. Considering how bad League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was, and how badly Watchmen was turning out to be, I can't say I'm all that disappointed that it was canned. Better no Watchmen movie than a bad Watchmen movie. I'm still wondering how they're going to handle V for Vendetta. I expect some suckiness underway. Cheers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes LoEG was bad, but what are you talking about with Watchmen? Every reviewer who had read the script and the comic was completely amazed at exactly how good the script was, and they had the director of the Bourne Supremacy doing it. That was the only confimed info, the only other info out there was the rumor of John Cusack playing Nite Owl, which IMO is a great casting decision.
