You mean it actually just sits there calculating moves and so on? I don't see any reason why this should take longer than it did with Civ3, unless the AI has been dramatically improved. With Civ3 most of the time was taken with animating opponents' moves, and you could turn that off or switch out of the window while it was doing it. That's a thought - does Civ4 continue to play through opponents' moves when you Ctrl+Esc or whatever and do something else? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know what it does. Because I think turns are somewhat simultaneous, its just that the AI is faster than you so they tend to finish everything they're doing first. War was hell because I'd do all my moves, then hit next turn and it would just sit there for a good 1-2 minutes. Sometimes I'd hear another civ's music meaning another civ was trying to talk to me, but it would just hang for a few minutes before it finally started up. Enemy/Friendly moves are turned off by default. On a positive note: The alarm function is really handy.

The lag didn't bother me at the beginning, but once you get later in the game and it takes like a minute and a half between hitting the end turn button and the game starting the next turn. The first few times I thought the game had crashed.

They'd probably be put in some sort of situation where Book comes up, and through investigation and flashbacks they'd find out.

Instead of shootouts they should have just gone with playoff style overtime. Multiple overtimes are generally more exciting than the regular periods since any action near the net could mean the end of the game so its all edge of your seat no matter how long it goes. At least in my experience.

I logged in around 7:30 but had no idea where to go and such. My level 9 character being my highest I would have got rocked anyway.

I picked it up because all 3 of the previous games sucked hundreds of hours out of my life each, and this is apparently the best of the bunch. Apparently my copy won't get here until nov 1st, so I might have to use the filthy bittorrent to get my taste before my copy arrives. Go laziness.

Not so surprising. After the low box office take, and the reason for the movie in the first place was DVD sales, they figured getting the DVD out by christmas would be the best way to get some money out of it.

I think the only big difference between Simon's version, and what we see in the film, is that Simon knows they're screwing with her brain. The guy just told him what they've been doing to her. Yet in the series, he has no idea what they did to her. They also kinda forgot about the two guys from Blue Sun that were chasing her.

I post on the SuperheroHype boards, and in the gaming section there was a thread about alternate accounts. People wanted everyone to list all their alt accounts. Turned out there was really only about 8 people in the gaming section that regularly posted. They just posted as like 4 different people each. Some of them had differing opinions on various games and concepts, and would argue those opinions. One guy had 16 alt accounts, Though only around 6 of those actually posted regularly.

Ok, I was surfing around and found out about some show called Point Pleasant. A show about the daughter of the devil washing up on a beach and being taken into a nice peaceful town, and she inadvertantly starts fulfilling some prophecy and some such. Sounded cool and all, and from what I gather its another one of those shows that was awesome but Fox decided to cancel it after 3 episodes kinda things. Just wondering if anyone here had seen it and can confirm whether or not its any good, as they're releasing it on DVD and I was wondering if it was worth grabbing.

Yeah, I generally play when laying down. Sitting up isn't very comfortable, I need back support, and the paint that my landlords used on the apartment is crap and rubs off on my clothes if I lean back on the wall. Also, most of my console gaming is done either at night, or during days off where I feel so lazy I don't even want to get out of bed.

Neat, but can it be used with no monitor? Because I don't want to have to get a new bedroom to be able to use the console, as the shape of my room only allows for one setup for my TV/Console, and that setup would make aiming the controller at the TV very awkward. Possible, but awkward.

My last serious girlfriend dumped me for my best friend over MSN during class. We had been together for around 3 years at the time, she had been with my best friend for 6 months of that. Yeah, we're not friends anymore. Only girlfriend I dumped was because she stole my car. Future Shop had it for 49.99, canadian. EBgames is selling it for the same, only thats in US dollars.

I chose Warcraft as my Game->Movie, and Bourne Identity as Movie-> Game. Warcraft mostly because the big fantasy/historical epics with mass army battles are my favorite kind of movies. As long as theres a half decent story to support the setting and cool battles.

I'm playing as a mind control/psionic Dominator right now and it rawks. Its the one combination I wanted to do in CoH but couldn't and it pissed me off.

I think there are like 12 PS1 games that aren't compatible with the PS2... unfortunately FF Chronicles was one of them.

I never understood the post Black hate. Yes their stuff prior to the Black album was their best stuff, but Load was a really good album, Reload not as much but it was still good. St Anger was crap.
