The writing has vastly improved from 15 years ago. 15 years ago they were writing for kids, now 15 years later they're writing for the same people they were writing for 15 years ago, only now those kids are in their 20s and prefer good writing.

I think American Dad would seem a lot better if they aired it before Family Guy instead of after. But it looks like its been cancelled anyway, the last two weeks have been 2 family guy eps in a row rather than Family Guy then American Dad.

The various character death scenes are the closest I've come to getting teary eyed over movie characters. No other movie or series has managed to do that, and its the reason I suggest this series to anyone who asks for anime suggestions.

Escaflowne was good, Trigun I haven't finished yet but its good once you get into it, the beginning is a little cheesy but it develops well. Fushigi Yuugi is one of my favorites. The constant "Tamahome..." "Miyaka..." gets annoying but I've never seen an anime that gets you more attached to the characters than this one. Fushigi Yuugi is about 2 girls being sucked into a book and inside the book they discover they're mediums for ancient gods, and if they can collect the various guardians for their gods they can unleash their powers to gain wishes. Kinda like Dragonball only the dragonballs are people, and theres a great plot. Anyway, one girl is guided by a benevolent king, and the other girl is manipulated into thinking the other girl is her enemy and left her to be raped by this really evil guy who wants to use her for her potential powers. Its great and I'd buy it on DVD if it wasn't 400 bucks for the set.

Correction: Eric Lindros pre-concussions was awesome. The Eric Lindros that you see play the past 3 or 4 seasons has been mediocre at best (in comparison to other NHLers, not in comparison to say, my hockey skills). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've never been a fan of Lindros after the whole draft thing where he refused to play for the Nordiques. Too bad for him they ended up being one of the best teams in the league before moving to colorado.

Can't forget David Hasselhoff, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Well there was his visor comment. Something about only frenchmen and Europeans wear them. People got all up in arms about that comment. Then he turned out to be right. Most of the European or French Canadian players wear helmet visors, while most of the Anglophone Canadians and Americans don't. The funny thing was that it was the english speaking Canadians that got all up in arms about it, while the Francophones were all either "Well... he's right" or "Don who?" I wish we got Coach's Corner over here. We have "Behind the Mask" with Kelly Hrudey over in the west. Don may be an idiot sometimes, but he's WAY more entertaining. I also don't mind that Hockey Night in Canada focuses on Canadian teams, as most Canadian hockey fans are just that Canadian Hockey fans. I want to see the Canucks play, I don't really care about the games with anyone else unless its the playoffs and the Canucks are already gone. Allthough now Sportsnet Pacific has exclusive broadcast rights to the Canucks, so I'll have to make due with other teams, but as I only get 2 channels, its more hockey than I'll get otherwise.

Lost, House, and Smallville. It was pretty funny, someone asked me what House was about once, and I was like "Well, someone gets sick, then House makes snarky comments, misdiagnoses, makes snarky comments, the black guy breaks into the patient's house to find out what went wrong, the girl gets all emotional, they find the cure, House makes snarky comments, the end." Near the end of the series it got a lot better though, usually a show takes one or two seasons to really get going. Smallville was one, first season was nothing but freak of the week, but the later seasons got more original. House seemed to focus less on the actual diseases and more on the characters as the season went on and I believe even had a whole episode where there wasn't anyone who got sick. Oh yeah, that too. I wonder if there are any native born canadians who don't know the theme song to Hockey Night in Canada.

Which I don't understand... as Hockey is vastly more popular.

Great, now all we need is to get Puuk, Wolf, and Briareus or whatever his handle was, and we'll have the entire online presence of BIS working for Obsidian. -
I think its kinda cool. He has instant membership in the Ultimates, and will receive S.H.I.E.L.D. training and everything. Though he'd likely have to give up his secret identity. Not that its very secret in the Ultimate universe. Everyone and their dog knows he's Spider-Man.

The NHL offered to give access to their books to an NHLPA auditor, and they declined. As long as a Canadian team other than the leafs get him, I'm happy.

How did King do in the minors? Any ideas how he did this season? The only hockey I've watched in the last 300 days is my local junior team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pretty much the same thing happened in the minors. He got an award for getting like 12 goals in 4 games, then sucked for the rest of the season. Final stats were 26 goals in 59 games, which isn't bad, but considering he scored half his goals in the first 4-5 games, it doesn't speak wonders for the rest of the season.

I think if Bertuzzi wants out his contract won't stop him ( Pavel Bure, anyone?). And thanks to the new NHL economics , his 7 mil deal is only 5 and a quarter or a half now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought Bure just stopped playing until his contract was up? I know he stopped playing and because of it didn't get paid for a while, then screwed up his knees like 6 months into his contract for his new team... whiny Russian pansy. Oh well, maybe Jason King won't fizzle this season and do as well as he did in the first quarter of last season.

The video was awesome, where the janitor finds the tutu in his mop bucket and puts it on.

Well Bert I believe still has a couple years left on his contract. Or at least one. Not sure how long that 7 million dollar deal was for. I thought it was for 4 years, so if the lockout counts as one, that leaves 2 years left. And I need to get me one of the classic rink jerseys. Canucks jerseys IMO are ranked 1: Skate 2: Rink 3: Orca 4: V

Hollow Man. Sequels should only be made if the first one left it open for one, or the conversation goes "I have an idea for a sequel to...." rather than "I have an idea, lets make a sequel to..." Yeah, he's the lead. Its sposed to be set in Japan.

She was in the Ultimate line preview/promotional issue back before any of the series were released. She was like a hardcore Merc or something. I haven't read it, I just saw one pic. She was dressed all commando, hair tied back in a ponytail, wearing a flak jacket and carrying guns and such. And had the skull thingy on her forehead.

Well the inverse point order achieved that. If you were the last place team the year before, you got the first draft pick, and if you were the first place team, you got the last pick, etc. I think they're going random this year since there was no season last year. And a lot of teams went through some major reconstruction in the meantime. Such as the Rangers. They dumped all their high priced has-beens, since they had the highest payroll in the league, yet didn't even make the playoffs like 2-3 years in a row, and went with a young low cost team with potential. I believe several teams did that too. Off topic: Heres hoping Luongo manages to either get some help this season or get traded to a different team. Its a shame arguably the best goaltender in the league is stuck on Florida.
