[merged] Sui Generis Kickstarter
Looks interesting, but overamitious. They promise a lot of things, but I don't know if they can deliver. Once I get that feeling for a kickstarter, I stay away from it. That doesn't mean I'm unintrested, but I'll wait for the release.

What you did today
I've been working overtime almost everyday for some time now, so I was very surprised when my boss told me to go home 5.5 hours early. I gave her a strange look first, because I wasn't sure if she was serious. Turns out she was, and apparently I have my co-workers to thank for it. Only problem is that I don't know what to do. I should probably do something resourceful, but I'll most probably end browsing the net and playing games.

Random encounters
How would he accomplish this? I'm guessing after attacking you in an alley he is most likely dead. Now, if next time he's a ghost of himself - this would be a blast. If you kill him, it would be kind of difficult for him to come back. I was thinking that you may have intimidated or in another non-lethal way dealt with him. He'd then try to get revenge when he gets the chance.

Random encounters
I want each encounter to be unique, random or not. Let's say I enter a forest and get attacked by five wolves and their pack leader, the next time I reach that place, maybe there could be more dangerous animals there, or maybe poachers. Another example would be me meeting a thug in a dark alley, the next time I go there, the thug might be there with his gang.

What are you playing now - the plays the thing
After completing Bulletstorm, I remembered why I don't play straight up shooters: I'm not very good at them. Died lots of times in one place, made me go crazy, so I bought thumpers for the leash and used charged shots to survive. Helped me complete that part. QTEs were also annoying. Don't know if I should try another shooter. The "good" thing is that these games can be completed quickly. I'm frustrated that I don't have much time to play Dishonored. It's not a game I want to play in quck, short bursts.

party members in PE
The AH is more of a bonus. You'll get your story companions, but you can also use the AH to roam the world with six monks or whatever. They basically give you the best of both worlds.

Favorite non-combat skills
I like speech skills. It was only speech in F:NV, but I like when we have options like, bluff, diplomacy, intinidate, etc. I love playing games without killing. This is not something I usually do for a first (or second) playthrough, but just having the option for future playthroughs is great. I'd like it if different skills were used for different situations. Talking to a chubby merchant? You have an option to use strength to scare him. You meet an intellegent mage? Intelligence won't work in dialogue, because he's smarter than you. Maybe a social skill that strokes his ego will work.

Having an issue with the no healing magic or medicine
As I understand it: Resting heals stamina but not life points. I might have misunderstood and I migh be wrong, but that's how I think it works.

What are you playing now
I'm almost done with Bulletstorm. I'm the last person who should grade an FPS (first FPS I played this gen), but it's been silly fun so far.

What are you playing now
Got to play an hour of Dishonored. Still doing things the non-lethal way. I didn't feel comfortable with the controls last time I played, but that is no longer a problem. I unlocked Darkvision, Bend Time and Blink Upgrade. They are fun to use, even if it makes it fairly easy to move around undetected. I still haven't used Darkvision. Decided against using the power. It would make the game totally broken. I failed with one of the non-lethal approaches in the mission, so I killed the target, but I reset the game. Difficulty doesn't seem to matter when you play the stealth route, since you're not going to be involved in any fights. The enemies might detect you more often, but I can't really tell, since I haven't tried the other difficulties.

Still need to play the DLC. Haven't even tried it despite owning it on both PC and PS3.

Would you like for an NPC to be able to betray your PC?
Sure, why not? You'll have 8 companions throughout the game, if half of them had a possibility to betray you if they strongly disapprove of your actions, I wouldn't mind.

will I need to know dnd rules to understand this game?
The game doesn't use the D&D system at all.

If Project Eternity was turn-based...?
I would have supported the game either way. Personally, I prefer turn based a little bit more, but I'm used to real time with pause. The only reason I prefer turn based combat is that I like to take my time and have total control over my characters. I know rtwp lets you pause during combat, but it won't allow me to put my characters in the exact position I want them in. The bad thing about turn based combat is that if you do it wrong, it will be boring as hell.

After The Last Main Story Quest...
If it makes sense from a story point of view, why not? But I can't say it would bother me if I couldn't. It wasn't an option in most of my favorite rpgs.

When it comes to your main character, do you prefer a Tabula Rasa?
Labadal replied to Death Machine Miyagi's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)How come? In most Obsidian games, you don't start the game with a character waking up with amnesia.

When it comes to your main character, do you prefer a Tabula Rasa?
Labadal replied to Death Machine Miyagi's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)In this kind of game, having a blank slate character at the beginning is preferrable to me. Choosing some stuff is fine, like different things about where you were raised, prior life experience, etc. But overall, leave it to the player to roleplay the character as much as possible.

With enough bug spray, they'll get it fixed in no time.
