  1. Completed season 1 of The Wired. Watched the 1st episode of season 2, and it feels like there are way too many new characters, but the show is still good.
  2. I'm almost done with act 2 in MotB. Instead of going to a wedding, I've been playing this for the last 3-4 hours.
  3. Ragnarok Tactics (PSP) is supposed to be okay, but I don't know. Haven't tried it. Gungnir and Growlanser were good. Final Fantasy III (NDS port) was released on PSP. Can't think of anything recent off the top of my head.
  4. Did see this when I was out. I love rainbows.
  5. We need a hangover cure thread. I am the twisted Meister of Hangover Curage. Try this... This is the hangover remedy that medical professionals will never tell you about (although they all use it, hell I got this tip from a nurse). A pint of water with a sachet of this before you go to bed seriously reduces hangover symptoms. I went out for a walk and then drank some coffee. It solved most of the problem. The thing is: Today I'm going to a wedding. I might get wrecked... I can resist alcohol, but when I start to drink, it tends to get out of hand.
  6. PS2 games emulated on PC look really good. DQ VIII, FFXII and Gow II are some examples of great looking games. I also have Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii that I have been playing on PC. (Had to loan a friends hacked Wii.) I buy consoles and handhelds because I know there are interesting games on those systems that won't get a PC release. That doesn't mean I don't like PC games. I wouldn't have a big PC games collection and I sure as hell wouldn't have spent half a month's salary to pledge to a game if that was not the case. I own a PS3 and have about 20 exclusive games for it. A lot of these games probably won't appeal to PC gamers, and I don't see any problem with that. On Xbox 360, I don't own as many exlcuisves, but I own enough to make it worth owning the system. Then I have exclusive games for their respective digital stores.
  7. Woke up with the worst headache I've ever had. It feels like my head is about to explode. It turns out that drinking wine, then whiskey, and THEN take some Jagermeister shots was not a good idea. This was the first time in 10 years that I have been drinking this much. My brother is to blame, it was his birthday party. Got him an ipad 3G, fun fact: I don't own one myself.
  8. That's good to hear. More often than not, a lot of rpgs have abilities/skills that are at a disadvantage compared to other abilities/skills. I'm no game designer, but I guess it's unavoidable when there are too many skills/abilities to choose from. I'm currently playing a fighter/monk in NWN2: MotB, and that game has a bunch of different classes and prestige classes. How on earth will you make all abilities/speels/feats (or whatever) equally interesting for the player?
  9. I wouldn't mind battles that are incredibly hard but still winnable. I can live with one or two impossible fights if it's story related, but not in any other situation. There could be strong peaceful creatures that you can attack, these ones will be impossible to defeat, and they'll kill you, but the choice was yours. You attacked them without getting provoked.
  10. Stocks tanked another 30% today. Company worth approximately $7.3 million. Things are looking anything but good.
  11. They are delaying projects because they basically have no funds as I understand it. The company is valued at $11 and their debt is said to be $100. The value of the company is lower than what it costs them to develop most of their games.
  12. I read somewhere that thanks to the first big gaming kickstarters DFA & W2, gaming projects on there have managed to get 20 more funds than before. The big kickstarters have really made a difference.
  13. THQ's stocks fell 40% earlier today. They might not even exist in 6 months. They're having a hard time finding money. So all the talk about more "polish" is rubbish.
  14. Fortunately March is the end of their FY, so early FY 2014 is April-May. Unless they see some advantage in deferring their earnings to the next fiscal year, however, I'm curious what sort of advantages you may think there will be by delaying it. Unless they just feel early March is a bad time for whatever reason. I think South Park release was moved up because Jan-March 2013 has too many releases. God of War: Ascension Gears of War: Judgement Tomb Raider Devil May Cry Dead Space 3 Bioshock Infinite These are some examples. None in the same genre, but still games that will steal some of the attention.
  15. http://www.vancouversun.com/touch/business/businesswire/Reports+Fiscal+2013+Second+Quarter+Results/7501073/story.html South Park: The Stick of Truth is delayed. A shame because I think the reason for the delay has nothing to do with the game needing more polish. (I hope I'm wrong.)
  16. The same goes for me. Only 13 people online when I tried it. (Installed it just now.)
  17. Putting up a good chunk of my game collection up for auction. If I manage to get the games sold, I'll have around 200 games left. Part of me feels bad about this, but I've tried to look at this from an objective view point: All games that I keep are games I consider as good or great games
  18. I liked AC2 better than AC, but Altair was missed. I disliked Altair, but it was the way it was supposed to be. The way he was set up, was for the player to dislike his personality. A shame they didn't try to develop his character further in the sequels.
  19. Agreed that the books are better, but that goes for any book that gets a movie or show. The problem with the GoT show isn't that it's bad, it's the fact that each season needs more episodes. 15-20 instead of 10. They jump over so many things you want to see if you have read the book. This is not such a big problem for newcomers.
  20. A great selection of games. Despite the development hell FFXII was in, it is still great. A shame Yasumi Matsuno left Square Enix during the project, because one will easily notice during the story where he no longer had any involvement in the game. Rogue Galaxy looked good and was very fun at first, but then you'll learn to hate the repetitive dungeons. They look interesting at first, but when I had to play a long @$$ dungeon with identical floors, I was ready to give up. I continued on and instead of giving up at that dreadful dungeon, I gave up on the final fights. I was so pissed off after my third attemp, so I deleted all save files. Felt like a moron an hour later. DQVIII is also a good looking game, especially played on an emulator. Games is very slow paced, so if you're not into that, you might want to reconsider. Because when I say slow paced, I mean sloooooooooow paaaaaaaaceeeeeed. I did enjoy it however and am playing DQIX on NDS.
  21. Mostly used (and still use) manual pause. I don't feel like I can rely 100% on auto-pause.
  22. It sure looked good. I wish we could see something like that in more games. My doubts about the project isn't that the engine is bad, it's the question whether or not they can produce a fun game.
  23. NWN 2: MotB. Completed the whole Ashenwood section. It was easy compared to some other places in the game. Not having to visit the the shadow realm made it even better.
  24. I know some people thought the PS:T descriptions of people talking with you were not appreciated by all, but I liked it. They couldn't use the animations to make someone look scare, or otherwise show characters' feelings. If the engine in PC can show off peoples reactions with animations, then descriptions are not needed.
