  1. I'll save youhttp://gateway.playneverwinter.com/ save you some time, that is. what class are you playing as?
  2. your approach was wrong from the very beginning, I'd say. if there's one game this reminds me of a lot it's NWN. basically it's a dungeon romp you can play with friends, and it has some very nice dungeons. that's not entirely true. he's not very sneaky at lv 8, but right now (lv 30) all I do is use stealth, there are abilities and feats that depend on stealth a lot (and regenerate its meter too)
  3. afaik, you can get a mount for deity coins (or w/e they're called), just don't forget to pray to your god every hour or so and you'll accumulate enough coins for a horsie in no time When you hit level 15 you unlock the foundry. The foundry is like many mod tool kits, it allows you to make full adventures. It includes many, if not all, of the assets from the game. You can script conversations, encounters, etc. Then the adventures are made available to the public via the in-game job boards. I don't know what the approval process for adventures is like, if there is one, since I'm yet to finish making an adventure. It's a really cool feature, and, frankly, all games should do it. holy crap, that sounds awesome, I'll check it out tomorrow since I just hit lv 15 this evening!
  4. it was surprising to see user-made content. how does it work, actually? very interesting and refreshing to see something like that in an online game, Cryptic will score brownie points with me if it's implemented half as good as I am expecting
  5. is it the same team that made Back in Action?
  6. never played Final Fantasy Tactics I take it?
  7. wait, it's not a standalone game? I really want to try it (mainly because of this comment, "Zecorian's Demesne (the final dungeon of SoZ) was a brilliantly designed masterpiece by Jeff Husges, that made great use of exploration, stealth, traps, puzzles, conversations, customized combat AI, and devious boss encounters. I think it is a shining example of both strategic and tactical role playing") but I can't find my NWN 2 CD anywhere...
  8. I don't like the idea of a 3D Flashback. if I wanted to play platformer-Flashback, I'd launch my emulator, or, heck, take my Mega Drive 2 and plug the cartridge in. I'd be excited about a new Flashback game if it was something different. 3-rd person action-adventure or something... anything, just not a platformer
  9. at first I was like "wha?!" but then I saw it was still a platformer and I went like "eew"
  10. looks like this is the only New Vegas thread that wasn't nuked. so I'll ask here. has anyone tried this mod: http://www.vaultmp.com/content.php ? seems that people have finally managed to write network code for gamebryo, and it's possible to play Fallout 3 and New Vegas in multiplayer does anyone have experience with this thing? because it sounds awesome
  11. in reply to this post one of the Arma 2 forums' regulars said something once that reflects the state of the game perfectly, it goes something like this: Arma is like Lego [...] you don't buy a box of Lego bricks and expect it to contain the car that's on the cover. for better or for worse, I wouldn't know. but it's very true. Bohemia would have loved Arma 2 to be as popular as Battlefield 2 or any other contemporary modern warfare themed FPS, but it was impossible with how their game was presented. what stops people from giving Arma 2 a chance is its UI, controls that are somewhat complicated if you try and play it in single player mode, and its awful single player campaign. some people come in expecting Operation Flashpoint, getting nothing like it. others come in expecting something along the lines of Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon - these are simply uniformed. in the end they all end up being disappointed by what the game has to offer. because Arma never had anything to offer to them in the first place. it's a strictly multiplayer game, where most of its content is generated by its gaming community and not by the devs. Bohemia spends its time releasing add-ons to keep the game fresh and patches to try and get rid of bugs which are unavoidable in a game of such complexity. you mention the demo, which I never played, I got into Arma 2 by trying the free version, which lacks single player content. Arma 2 could use a better designed SP campaign, that's for sure. with a tutorial integrated into the first missions. hopefully Arma 3 will have all that. but if you had downloaded that demo in hopes of getting a taste of the SP component it's no wonder you didn't like it. Arma 2 is the best modern warfare FPS hands down. if you want a good multiplayer wargame, look no further. of course, laying in an ambush for 30 minutes, or moving in a convoy from point A to point B for miles and miles without much happening, or getting shot right at the start in a no-respawn mission - could be not your cup of tea. not to mention that in order to get everything out of Arma 2 you'll have to jump through a lot of hoops, hence the Lego comparison. anyway, that's why I said Steam reeks of disaster. I like my Arma the way it is now, and by striking a deal with Valve, I'm afraid, Bohemia has hinted at drastic changes to the series, which I will not approve of, most probably. they will never get close to CoD in terms of mass appeal, they will never get that Operation Flashpoint feeling again. they already have a recipe that works: Arma 2. all they had to do was polish it up a bit more, redo the things that scare off new players (looking for multiplayer games can be a bitch, their server browser could use a face lift; the UI is monstrous, a lot of people drop Arma 2 because of it; the single player part of the game is awful: mission design, controlling your AI teammates, lack of good tutorial). instead it looks like they're more concerned with their initial sales. a lot of things Arma 2 does now will work differently or not work at all under Steam (certain popular mods; dedicated severs ran by players, that have their own set of problems, so adding Steam functionality on top of that could potentially make things worse). of course it remains to be seen if Bohemia can actually take Steam and make good use of its features. I'm skeptical though. I don't get why they would rush Arma 3 out the door. it has had a troubled dev cycle, but partnering up with Valve and releasing it on Steam exclusively will hardly help it.
  12. I'd gladly respond to this with a well thought-out post, but the thread is getting dangerously close to the 600-posts mark, so I'll wait
  13. this has "disaster" written all over it. no beta patching, no way to launch the game with third party tools, god knows how this will affect modding... man, I wish they delayed the game's launch more instead of making an exclusive deal with Steam.
  14. I guess there is one good thing about Aliens: CM, now all this Aliens RPG footage is popping up
  15. how can you live with yourself?
  16. Brutal Legend on PC: finally
  17. I remember taking my thief and cheesing all the dragons with traps. 20-30 should do the trick
  18. Ну, зачем же? В школе 12 лет учил, в университете ещё 5. Хватит, я думаю.
  19. it doesn't mean "eagle" orly? Белоголовый орлан = Haliaeetus leucocephalus = Bald eagle point being: there's no word for "орлан" in English. or, what's more likely, there's not enough of a difference between the two to be called differently, so it's the same thing, and Russians are overcomplicating it.
  20. "Orlan" means "eagle" in Russian. I wonder if it's a coincidence that the character has bird-like features
  21. that art also looks a lot like Troika's The Temple of Elemental Evil box...
  22. what the hell did I just watch?..
  23. does the 500-post rule not apply anymore?
