http://www.comicsalliance.com/2013/06/17/man-of-steel-on-my-planet-the-s-is-for-sucks-spoilers-review/ good read and an educated (as far as I can tell anyway) opinion on why the new Superman movie sucks

Amy Adams is awesome, that's all I have to say. my second favorite red head in Hollywood after Jessica Chastain (say what you will about Zero Dark Thirty, but she was brilliant in it)
-
yeah I'd much rather have Ben Affleck

apparently, shooting a Tom Clancy movie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ryan_%28film%29

too bad we're on the same server. I don't want to flood the AH with horses and ruin your business, otherwise I'd be all over it now

I remember reading about a game many years ago, an open world first person shooter, it would have you drive around the wastelands in your Mustang shooting mutants. it was being made by some european studio (from Norway or Finland, or something like that). I was very disappointed to hear about its cancellation. I wonder if expecting something similar from Mad Max the game would be too optimistic

Obsidian is the only studio in the world that could do Earthbound justice

first of all, the crumb trail that serves as your guidance doesn't work in the last part of the zone. so if you don't know that and have already gotten used to following the trail around, you'll be in for a nasty surprise. and that particular area isn't easy to navigate either. it's very bland looking, it's a bit hard to tell where you are until you get familiarized with it more. and it's full of narrow passages filled with tough mobs (you'll know which ones I'm talking about once you encounter them for the first time, they always spawn in pairs, have a lot of health and have a very nasty special attack, that can kill you in seconds if you're not careful). this last area also has a very strange layout, it's a big crater where the quest givers hang around the camp on the top, and you'll have to travel to the bottom more than once. after spending 30 minutes trying to get back to the top the first time around, me and my friend would just die after completing quests so we didn't have to ride all the way back every time. the last quest before the main dungeon is also quite difficult, has powerful mobs with AoE attacks bunched up in a couple of places. to tell you the truth, I have no idea how one can complete it solo. my friend and I wiped once, and until that point we had found all other quests easy.

watched 'A Place Beyond The Pines'. Not what I expected, but a good movie still, good fathers-and-sons drama. though you can see all the plot twists coming a mile away.

Dragon Age III / The Witcher 3 trailers. Impressions?
sorophx replied to Rahelron's topic in Computer and Console
that's its only redeeming quality -
finally finished that godawful zone Mount Hotenow, never coming back there again...
-
permadeath is pretty unique nowadays

funny how I lost 6 rank 4 enchantments in a row trying to fuse them, before running out... I'm never fusing anything past rank 4 without a ward again

although I love everything by Linklater I dare you to watch Waking Life in one go

oops, that bias part was directed at Nordicus

actually, I'm very close to Poland still didn't like The Witcher, TW2 was better, but it's not on my list of true RPGs. it's an action-RPG no matter how you spin it, and since I don't remember C&C in "almost every single quest", either your perception is altered due to bias, or my memory is getting bad

Obsidian to co-develop MMORPG Skyforge with Allods team
sorophx replied to C2B's topic in Obsidian General
"my first time in Moscow, getting myself familiarized with the city, it's awesome, blah blah blah, main reason for coming here was to discuss our work with the Allods team." "we're looking into things we could do to help promote Skyforge in the United States." "our part of the job is to get everything going in the United States. blah blah blah, also, give the game an "American flavor", we have a lot of experience with that kind of thing" (he means creating worlds and characters in Western RPGs, I think) Feargus goes on talking about his impressions of Moscow, about his time in the industry, about making games20 years ago and now, about current Obsidian projects (South Park, Eternity and a third unannounced project), goes into some detail about PE, but nothing we haven't already heard, talks about Kickstarter. -
as far as I can remember C&C in W2 was only a facade, it determined where you'd go in the second act (and was implemented badly in my opinion). also, fleshed out characters? a ton of plot lines? we played different witcher 2s it seems. my Witcher 2 was om par with Dragon Age in this regard.

giggity, so The Witcher now is a mark of good taste? I always thought it a mediocre RPG. what next, say that Mass Effect is the best RPG of the century? (oh, wait, that's Dragon Age)

so, this Great Gatsby thing. never read the book, of course, but heard good things about the movie. then read a review, and the reviewer states that in the book it's implied that the main character is black, so knowing this gives a new dimension to a lot of scenes (the racist remarks made by other characters for example). and he says that if you're going to watch the movie just imagine that there's an african-american actor in DiCaprio's place, and the movie will make a lot more sense that way how much truth is there to this?

well, it's an MMO only on paper. in reality it's a single-player game, with the ability to team up with others. like I said earlier, it's very similar to NWN in this regard, only its quests are too repetitive. it reminds me of Fable a lot, actually.

hmmm, making my rogue a barb as well might be a good idea

meh, I'm getting tired of all the repetition, just blazing through the story with my alt, then we'll try to duo all the dungeons with a friend, then after I hit lv 60 I'll probably delete that char and wait for new classes/race to come out

how is this thread still alive? also, Viconia was my favorite character in BG2
-
it won a bunch of awards for writing
