  1. it's not as bad in FNV though I would suggest playing it in Hardcore mode with J. Sawyer's balance mod
  2. just finished it on Very Hard. while it's challenging, I wouldn't call it "hard" at all. if you're yet to play SRR switch the difficulty to VH first thing.
  3. most reviewers I've heard said it was a stupid but fun movie. I hate stupid but fun movies. even if they're ultimately "good". I'm waiting for Pacific Rim to come out on DVD, I would suggest you do the same. there's always a chance to get good deleted scenes or something that way
  4. Rotten Tomatoes suggested I watched some movies with Bill Paxton. so I did. Frailty was his big screen directorial debut I believe. and it's a very well directed movie. it's a very good thriller. but it's about religion, so might not be your cup of tea. I would still recommend it. A single father raises his two sons, they're a close family until one night, when the father (played by Paxton) has a vision. he believes God sends his angels to him, because his family has been chosen to fight the demons on Earth. he regularly gets people's names that are supposedly demons, tracks these people down and kills them in front of his sons. the younger one seems to buy the whole thing, the older - not so much. it's an interesting take on serial killer movies, witlh a couple of plot twists that you won't see coming A Simple Plan - this one I absolutely loved. it reminds me a lot of early Coen brothers' movies like Fargo. only without the comedy. Paxton plays a family man, B.B. Thornton plays his idiot brother. they also have an alcoholic unemployed **** of a friend. one cold Winter day the three of them find a crashed plane in the forest, inside - a gym bag stuffed with 4 million USD. you can imagine what happens next: they decide to keep it, but Paxton insists they wait until Spring, until the plane is found and makes the news, so they know where the money comes from and if anyone even knows about the money. this movie will take you places, from the start you know it's not going to end well. and the way the tragedy unravels...it's like a snowball rolling down the hill. the characters are awesome, even the supporting ones add a lot to the story (B. Fonda, who plays Paxton's wife, is simply great). Wikipedia says it's based on a novel, and the writer worked on the script for the movie. it was directed by Sam Reimi. as you can see there's a lot of great talent behind it. which reminds me, I really should watch Darkman again, it's been long enough
  5. almost had a heart attack, one of those Asian girls looks almost exactly like my ex
  6. on my second playthrough, on Very Hard, and the game is pretty challenging. the AI knows how to use doors as shields now (open the door, shoot through, close the door), so if you think you can just camp the entrance into a room with your heavy hitters on overwatch - that's not going to work. you need to position your guys properly, cover becomes crucial to your success. playing as an elven assault type (focus on rifles). with 10/10/10 in Quickness/Ranged/Rifle I'm unstoppable. 90% chance to hit a target two screens away in full-auto. one turn usually means two fresh dead guys for the opposition. I don't think that not putting any Karma into social skills affected me negatively. still got the same quests with same outcomes. the Matrix is still somewhat easy though. even with my ESPs being completely blind never had to restart a level. the more I play the OC, the more I realize how good it is (save for a few moments in the story that are just *derp*). the way they played off of the universe's lore (you don't get a full party from the start, and the guys you eventually hire can only be controlled during missions, and you can't take their stuff away), eliminating the need to have loot, game saving, and making it long enough to be enjoyable but short enough to keep replaying it with different character builds. maybe I'm just getting old, but I think I wouldn't have liked SRR if its campaign was not 10 but 50 hours long. that would require it to be a different game (closer to Shadowrun on teh Genesis, oh man I wish that game had a PC port with turn based combat). SRR is the new Final Fantasy Tactics. I loved that game and wanted for the longest time to play something similar (there's always Front Mission, but the story in that series has always been ****). SRR gives me that
  7. there is at least one tha I know of
  8. it's a lot better than the SNES game as far as I can tell (didn't play much of that game, hated it actually). but some people complain about the cheesy plot, so... your mileage may vary
  9. VG Cats. your argument is invalid
  10. watched World War Z, and found most of the movie pretty stupid... let's plays of The Last Of Us are a better zombie movie than WWZ
  11. oh yeah, I love that! you don't need to aim when your target is in arm's reach I guess
  12. Adepts have their own progression branch (Chi Casting or something), some of the upgrades in it unlock additional spell slots I went with a troll jack-of-all-trades character for my first playthrough (Unarmed combat/decker/shaman). after a couple of wasted points on spells (healing/armor) I figured it didn't make any sense to pump all three, so I got Decking to lv. 5 (most in-game checks require it at this level, save for a couple that need 6) to be able to equip the 5-slot deck. the rest of my Karma went into Body and Strength (both at 7 by end-game) + Unarmed. I couldn't be happier with this build, it could be tweaked a bit more (respec-ing would get me an additional 10 or so points to distribute) but even now under Haste my troll is unstoppable with his Roundhouse Kick and his Killing Hands (criticals deal up to 35 points of damage, meaning I could kill almost anything in one round with 4(5) AP available) I guess it's the same with guns, but at least I didn't have to worry about reloading my weapon oh, as for NPC deckers, I found both the cleaning guy and the elf you get later on very capable, didn't have to use my char in later parts of the game at all
  13. just beat it, and watch out for a very nasty glitch during the final boss fight loved the final area where you can talk with all the major plot characters. Armitage hints at a bunch of new jobs (future DLCs?), make sure you talk to him
  14. yes question: how do I kill Pure Insect Spirits. they're immune to physical damage and I didn't bring any tough mages with me
  15. oh wow, comicbookgirl19 actually, I don't think she's pretty, but she does have... ehm... appeal. I certainly didn't expect to see her here before this one:
  16. it's about time @ChickenTuna made her appearance in this thread she's 45 years old
  17. meh, I'll raise you. cello, 11 years old: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84-Mxkujakc
  18. this is the kind of pics that should be on here: girls playing vidya games. better yet, Obsidian games
