  1. That's where evil and good start to get interesting, chaotic vs lawful as well. My take is, if the conquistadors perceived the aztec culture as evil, their lawful good course was clear. Slay as many as necessary, just crush the evil and force them into the arms of christendom. Death of a million is peanuts compared to the whole races spiritual salvation. If the conquistadors resorted to treachery to reach their goals, blackmail and murder, stuff they know is basically wrong. The end still justifies the means, they're still good, just not lawful good. If the conquistadors did it all mainly to get filthy rich by looting gold and everything else was just an excuse, then they were evil. Or it could be some middle ground in the neutrals. Maybe the causes were pure, but not quite enough if there wasn't a golden incentive. The Aztecs then? So they captured a whole bunch of people, ripped hearts out in sacrifice to some gods? If they did it just for the giggles, or out of boredom, they were some kinds of psychotic evil monsters. But if they truly believed it's the good and proper thing to do, gods need to be satisfied or the whole world ends!! Sucks for the prisoners, but hey, a bunch of neighbors vs the end of the world? Could be anywhere from lawful good to chaotic good to chaotic evil. Depends. So the moral is that every time someone starts comparing ethics a bunch of people die and there is no clear good. Why do we need ethics and good again?
  2. The guy with his name on the scantly clad women thread is complaining about boobs? Say it isn't so. Also I've been watching a lot of bad movies lately but that's only cause they're on episodes of MST3K
  3. Not to say that it may be Japanese.
  4. With Christian Bale? Is it wrong/weird that I find that movie hilarious? It is definitely satirical but I wouldn't go so far as to call it funny. You have twisted streak, I like that.
  5. Apparently this will be a great year for publisher "In-House" funny that I never heard of them. I wonder how they can afford to publish so many games?
  6. Luc Besson's films have one of the most identifiable photography, that I ever seen. I can watch a movie without knowing that he was attached to it and it rings that bell.
  7. Curses! I've been saving up thought-power all YEAR for that plan! It was to be my masterpiece! Now I am ruined! RUINED I say! T_T (We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.) How do you exercise ghosts/spirits? Is there like a workout routine for the undead like Zombie Zumba or something?
  8. That's one of the things I like about Avellone's approach to writing companions, they all are representative of the main themes of the story.
  9. Then I shall serve you tea with the finest of breast milks and see if that doesn't change your mind. No drinking from the tap though.
  10. I'm I the only one that isn't hoping PE will be the fodder for adolescent power fantasies? No offense intended to anyone.
  11. LotR is a "polite society compatible" re-telling of the original Germanic fairy tales, myths, and legends. Not really. It's a retelling of World War I. It was inspired by both.
  12. The undead are just suffering from the same dry spell of creativity that has hit most fictional works since the industrial age. Writers just have a defined archetypes and just reimagine them to suit the needs of their story. So when it comes to certain elements they may find it difficult to part from the popular notion while they are trying to redefine them.
  13. There are 2 issues with creating "scheming" options in video games, how the information is presented and how players have been conditions. Most players take in game choices at their face value because there is usually no follow through. Saving a farm will probably not be the first step in a master plan to gain the support of the populace on your bid to become king, because the game doesn't allow you to. So it is hard for the developers to convey that quest resolutions will lead you on a path towards an ultimate goal and its hard for gamers to conceive such a thing because they're not used to it. Because the most scheming you see allowed on a game is the "betrayal" questlines where you turn to the other side of the conflict and it goes back to the main plot.
  14. There is absolutely nothing evil about any event where you're drinking tea. Just because it's a refined drink, and not as uncivilised as instant coffee... But if tea is better than coffee and instant coffee is better than instant tea does that mean that: Tea>Coffee>Instant coffee> Instant Tea> Starbucks?
  15. I wonder why people become so obsessed with morality in Video Games? I suppose that it's part of the immersion and all but it seems that every time an RPG is released there will be a thread talking about an evil playthrough and the merits of roleplaying evil characters. So its curious as to why this aspect rises above the rest.
  16. Nonsense, the Witcher wasn't LGTB friendly.
  17. Is for stoners, so its kind of a good thing you didn't
  18. Well, the sort of player who enjoys finding nonviolent solutions is probably going to need that gear more when he actually does get into a fight, because his character is likely to be built with less focus in combat skills. And there will be unavoidable combat in this game. You get the same amount of combat-oriented talents, regardless of what you spend your skills. There are no characters with an increased utility function at the expense of combat abilities. Technically you could create said character but that means it was your fault.
