HP Lovecraft was an arse - EVERYONE ROLL FOR SAN LOSS!
Orogun01 replied to Walsingham's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Technically yes, since schizophrenia is besides being a real disease also a blanket term for a series of unrelated mental symptoms manifesting on the same patient. EG: OCD because a pink elephant looks at you judgingly.- 54 replies

Maybe an issue with their skybox?

I don't know about the ones you mentioned but the first image I saw of the Project had a waterfall that was animated.

HP Lovecraft was an arse - EVERYONE ROLL FOR SAN LOSS!

The only thing I've ever agreed with Ayn Rand is that love is the result of omission (although I also believe it to be caused by acceptance) that we love because we are oblivious or immune to seeing the flaws in something. The opposite must also be true and despair, cynicism and depression are the result of omission of virtues. To be honest I think depression and anxiety are caused by expectations, in the case of depression we have unfulfilled and possibly unrealistic expectations. Unless we are talking about chronic medical depression in which case tell your friend to get his/her ass to a doctor. Also, what does it say about you that your best friend is depressed? Be more amusing ya selfish mook!- 54 replies

Remember, all military equipment is done by the lowest bidder. They may not think that it is cost effective and that tanks function well enough as is.

Be wary of tornadoes and remember that there is no place like home....also red shoes wouldn't hurt.

Madness is a blanket term for a series of defense mechanism the mind establish in order to shield you and deal with some situation. A complete loss of sanity or going into shock is possible, just as it is possible to come out of it. This thread has made me go into shock, I will post when I come out of it.- 54 replies

How about just asking about her health? You don't need to say the other F word, just skim around it while showing some concern about her quality of living. Also; does anyone else has a problem or can we declare the Obsidian forums Utopia.

DPS classes are always balanced into uselessness. -
I generally foster brutal honesty with acquaintances just in case something like this happens, I don't get friends in quantity due to it but I do get friends in quality.

...on the other hand, you can go through the entire game with the most basic equipment, if you really want to, (I've gone through all of SHoC with just the starting Makarov, for example). That's rather masochistic...especially if you also only used the standard armor (well, except where you're forced to us another one, of course) My game is modded a bit, so I have it so that 100% of all attacks register, (instead of the 60% or so not having any effect on the easiest difficulty, or the...I want to say either 20% or 30%, I think, on the hardest difficulty), so it's a bit easier than vanilla game. Ukraine and their broken difficulty settings, where the hardest difficulty is actually easier than the easiest...(Metro did the same sort of nonsense!), It's only balanced, you take more damage and the enemies take more damage. It makes for a better mechanic that just giving enemies massive amounts of health. -

I find that the way Stalker handles it is very interesting, instead of your character leveling you get better equipment. [ Insert Yakov Smirnoff joke here ] -

risk/reward only applies where reward is given, TES doesn't reward you being smart about engaging the enemy (Such as running towards a giant's camp so that it kills all the bandits) exp is the direct result of the application of in game skills so there isn't a real reward from engaging high level enemies other than to quickly grind on some skills such as Block,H&L armor. Also there is such thing as a dynamic level range which is wider than pure level scaling based on the player's level. If used correctly it can be of great benefit to the game so as to maintain enough challenge to be engaging but not so much that it is unbelievable. Skyrim seemed to have that, other wise by level 81 you would have the world's deadliest Skeevers. -

You mean open world as I'm restricted to a specific area where the monsters are within my level? -

Level scaling, in particular foes scaling with your level, is one of worst game designs out there. It's a primary reason why the TES games suck in my opinion, and the reason I did not buy D3's expansion. Level scaling on an open world game prevents linearity by not restricting the player through enemies, plus on the context of the TES games exp is gained through repetition not through slaying monster. So it would be really counterproductive and serve no purpose other than restrict the player. -
I liked RiverWorld, the movie was also good. Edit: that just reminded me, Jules Verne's "Mysterious Island". Seriously, when in doubt go for the classics. If you don't enjoy them at least you can look sophisticated in polite company.

I don't get the prudish tone, they talk about sex games as if they are meant to be taboo or just for nerds who live on their mother's basements. You think that after the pornography industry coming out of the shadows and the common knowledge that everyone with an internet connection has likely watched porn, they would have a more accepting view. Also, Live and let live and whatnot; dagnabit femanizi game journos. Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking....enhanced Romance options in RPG Sorry but actual sensations while the homo in BW's latest game hits on my PC, without a conversation option to tell him to **** off; doesn't sound too appealing.

C++ and C# are so similar languages, that after you learn one learning other is quite easy. I'm actually trying to learn both but it has been mostly game related so a lot of OOP, I still need to wrap my head around procedural and math for that matter.
