I don't know about the rest of the STEM fields, in mine it seems to be true just because games attract that kind of personality. To be honest the women are sometimes more awkward than the men. Also, considering the fact that most people (specially in the US) are fighting the learning curve I would say that both boys and girls can be considered to "not be good at math". If you told me that they have been conditioned to believe that girls are only valuable for their looks I might had agreed with you, that still bears little relevance to job disparity. Women and men seem to want different things out of life; women seem to like stability and security (having a good "nest" to raise their kids) and men seem to be more focused on achievement (providing said stability). The modern social sciences seem all to keen on disregarding millennial of evolution in favor of egalitarianism, gender roles and values are the result of a selective process that has been going on for a long time. Its hubris to think that one hastily crafted information model would actually surpass what has been proven by nature, as it wouldn't have otherwise succeeded and been present on our times.

Well, studies say at early childhood female and male children have the same aptitude for math and related stuff, so it stands to reason that at least some amount of social conditioning is involved. Also, I somehow can't fault women who have their doubts about spending an inordinate amount of their lives (college, then job) in the almost-exclusive company of mostly socially inept and entitlement issue-laden nerd boys. So they have been conditioned to believe that those jobs are only for "socially inept and entitlement issue laden nerd boys"? and that's why you brought it up not because you actually believe that women think that and that is the reason why they don't go for those jobs.

That's their fault, not ours.

I hate Matthew McConaughey simply on the fact that he continues to waste his talent, he keeps it up and he is going to end up doing the same crappy movies as Ben Kingsley.

Oh, I don't know. How about leading by example? "Authority"? What authority do you have over anyone? Classically there are three types of authority: pragmatic, charismatic, and traditional. I guess we just covered two of those. My point was that it's a bit ...argh, no time! But what about my divine right to rule?

Is anyone going to play Devil's Advocate or can we all agree that men > feminists? I expect Bruce will be the one to get things going.
-
Well I plan on getting it, but then I liked DA2 so you might not want to use my opinion to base your purchase on! Totally unrelated question, but what's the story behind your new avatar?

Oh, I don't know. How about leading by example? "Authority"? What authority do you have over anyone? In my experience you cannot force people without having some might backing you up, it easier to trick them into inaction and redirect their efforts into fruitless pursuits. But those tactics only buy time, not solve the problem.

It's unlikely that a guerrilla will win against a major military force, but they can survive and slow or even halt the advancement of a major incursion if only for as long as it will take the proper military forces to reach their location. They would fight because there is no other option. This is probably part of why the second amendment was established to prevent early America from being conquered.
-
About that statistic, how many of those fights were justified in self defense or in the defense of others?

They are getting rid of their script language in favor of C++ so that may sort some issues, although I still think that it's going to take them 20 iterations to figure out how ladders work.

Don't use that NRA malarkey logic. No one is saying guns kill people. It's a matter of regulating public safety. If Adam Lanza's mom would never have owned a military weapons cache, or if she'd at least kept it properly locked away, that would have been another obstacle or two between him and committing mass murder. So because some citizens may be insane you need to ban guns; the same argument could be made of police forces and I can actually put the example of the cop who wanted to cook and eat children (may have been women I don't recall) as supporting evidence.

Somehow I got really hung up on the Muslim bit, it is seriously becoming harder to take a moderate stance on the subject when it seems that the majority are zealots. On the subject; anyone can look up violent crime statistics on countries with a ban on guns and on those without and draw their own conclusions as to whether guns contribute to crime or prevent it.

I was just happy with my choices. But we all know I love slutty brunettes. That wear leather, dark makeup and listen to industrial while snapping their whips.

Makes sense; you often have to make judgement on the veracity of what people tell you, most of the time it's inane and doesn't really matter but on a life or death situation it becomes indispensable to distinguish between false and true hence you're more involved.

I'm Norway; didn't we had someone in the forums who was from Norway?

So we have lawyers, scientists, coders and aspiring (or professional) writers on this forum. Any 3D artists?

I'm pretty sure they made every character in the world of DA2 bisexual so that they'd have all bases covered and nobody could complain (except the people with functioning brain cells who figured out that it's astronomically unlikely that Hawke would be a vortex that attracts bisexuals in a mevievalesque RPG, in total ignorance of the fact that the only people who could get away with homosexual behavior were kings and people close in noble rank to kings.) I'm actually curious as to what it is about Bioware games that so strongly attracts the LGBT community such that it is, for all intents and purposes, their primary audience. Sure their promo material is all White Male Shaved Head 5 O'Clock Shadow SPESS MUHREEN protagonist, but we all know 90%+ of their fanbase is not white male tree-trunk necked bulging-vein steroid abusers/lovers of that particular character archetype. Was it the Squidgirls from Mass Effect? I still feel like Japan pulled that off better. How about gays exist? They do, but real beings do not switch their sexual preferences just to please the " All Omnipotent Player". I can't empathize with something that's obviously there for my convenience and I can't think of them as real. In the end is an issue of writing, I can believe that some companions due to their background would be more likely to be sexually liberated. Although considering that a good percent of companion stories are going to revolve around the fact that you're romancing them I can see why they would make everyone Bi.

I'm sorry, but don't you work for that company with all the romance simulators? It seems to me that you should be the romance authority on this forum. -

I hate when CRPGs put a limit on how many characters you can have on your party but makes you fight hordes of enemies. What the hell is the rest of the party doing; parking the wagons? Why do the bad guys get to have a bigger party? -

It was published (not localized) by Monolith Studios and the lead designer has a western name. My guess is that they tried to mimic JRPGs, there were a few people trying to break into the niche markets on the west with titles like those. I remember playing the dreadful Sudeki. -

Big country, hard to get around and planes are expensive.
