A good suggestion for the game
mkreku replied to Ford_Racer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe if the players were allowed to travel freely between the planets after the game was finished, and there would be newly spawned monsters in the caves/tombs/whatever, and there were new contenders in the pazaak tournaments and race tournaments? You could travel around, killing difficult monsters, defend your pazaak title and try to fight off all the new swoop contenders. It wouldn't take much resources to refill the planets with monsters if they just reused the ones seen in the main story.. Just add a few levels to the newly spawned monsters to make them more difficult, perhaps. Same with the pazaak and swoop races. Just give the new pazaak players better starting cards and shed a few tenths of a second from the existing swoop track records. -
I played KotOR on my PC and cranked everything up to max with the resolution set at 1024x768.. I think it looked way better than the Xbox version. My Radeon 9800 Pro allowed me to use 16x antialiasing (if my memory isn't fooling me) and it really works wonders with the graphics. Unfortunately KotOR didn't have mouselook (which took away some of the advantages of the PC), but I'm sure KotOR2 will fix that problem. The Xbox is unfortunately just a cheap, ugly-looking computer with less control options. Pentium III 733MHz and Geforce 3 just isn't good enough nowadays, in my opinion.

Uhm.. Wrong thread. Wish you could delete stupid posts like this one!

Bored of KOTOR 1? Will it be the same?
mkreku replied to kitty518233's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Strange I was the only one who voted for "Played through the light side, dark side got boring" so far. I played the game as a light side character the first time. It took me 30 hours to go through everything the game had to offer. WHen I decided I wanted to see the dark side of it all, it was just exactly the same, but with slightly altered dialogue. How can you play through this game more than twice? -
KotOR took me almost exactly 30 hours to go through, and I explore everything there is to see on the first run and I never skip sidequests. I always felt the worlds were too small, the quests too short, the racing circuits too straight and the entire game too restricted. I want more and bigger worlds, longer, more difficult swoop racing tracks and more complicated sidequests. Why replay the same game twice to get 60 hours out of it when you can have the game last 60 hours?

I've been wondering abut something.. Is the film called I, Robot because all the robots look like inflated Imacs? I haven't seen the movie, but there are a lot of trailers running for it now and the robots suck. I've seen scarier dustbunnies underneath my bed.

I'd really like to see more of that Dr. Magneto guy (was it Doctor?) from X-Men 2. I had a marvel comic when I was a child and he tossed around oil tankers and the entire city of New York in that one.. After that I always thought he was the coolest of them all. But I guess Spider-Man wouldn't have much of a chance against him..

Uhm.. Maybe I need to clarify some things again. This list is a joke. So was this thread. I don't think anyone but the guys up in UN who made the list really pay any attention to it since it measures such objective things as people's well-being and tolerance against each other. I just thought the fact that they even tried to create such a list was funny and it's kind of flattering that we ended up so high. But I wouldn't choose my place of living based on it. I base such important decisions on blonde-girl-frequency: Sweden r00lz.

What's wrong with Belgium? Except for that pedophile-gang, of course.. I know that Belgium has the most comic book artists in the world (per capita) though! Can't be all bad.
-
Great. I looked at that stupid picture for so long, one of my eyes fell out of its socket.

Coming in anywhere in the top ten means it's a damn good country to live in. But you can always brag a little more if you're number two..
-
Actually, that's one of the few fields where the USA beat Sweden: the BNP per capita is much higher in the US than in Sweden. You know, low crime rates, good health care and a culturally diverse society goes a long way. Ps. USA is part of the UN..
-
The ten best countries to live in, according to a new report made by the UN: 1. Norway 2. Sweden 3. Australia 4. Canada 5. Netherlands 6. Belgium 7. Iceland 8. USA 9. Japan 10. Ireland Go Norway! Go Sweden! Source: http://hdr.undp.org/reports/global/2004/

Yes, we all make decisions regarding our lives. But what if some decisions were made before we became self conscious? If your parents always referred to milk as water and called water milk, do you think you'd do as them or take a decision to call the liquids by their correct names? If the world was as black and white as you suggest we would have no problems at all. Unfortunately we're all created very differently and a very small percentage can go through what you've gone through unharmed and (relatively) normal. I went to a lecture once where they had invited a small number of women who had been abused to tell us about their experiences. One girl had been constantly raped from the age of three up until she was 15. Since she had never learned any other way and had no memories of a normal family, that was normality to her. So when she became 18 she became a prostitute and a porn actress. All her life she had only been treated "kindly" during the rapings and had been harassed, degraded and physically abused when they were not having sex. One would think that when she finally got away from her molestor she'd stay clear of anything like that again, but since the only time she had ever felt appreciated was when she was being raped, that was what she needed to "feel good". So the evil circle continued. Another girl was so damaged she could not talk at all. She only communicated by singing and playing guitar at the same time. I don't think anyone knows exactly what she had been through, but her songs were all about how she had been the center of attention when her grandpa had invited all his friends over for a child molesting party. She was very petite and skinny, had to wear diapers because she had been so torn and sat on a chair in the middle of the stage with four huge guards standing in a semi-circle around her. About gun control: guns are made for one purpose only; to kill. Whether it be humans or animals, they're all about killing. Shooting targets or skeet shooting are only derivatives of what the guns were originally made to do. If guns are difficult to come by, the crazy people are bound to do less damage if they go out of control. If you meet a psychopath wielding a knife you have a lot bigger chance of surviving than if you meet the same guy with an automatic rifle. Sweden has one of the highest guns per capita in Europe and yet we have one of the world's lowest murder rates involving guns. Hunting has a strong tradition in Sweden so banning guns would be impossible. What they've done is put very strict laws around the handling of guns. Among other things you have to get a hunting license, which involves taking both theoretical and shooting tests. Guns have to be stored divided in two separate safes. Ammunition in a third. Full-automatic weapons are only allowed in special shooting clubs, semi-automatic weapons are only allowed to have 2-4 cartridges in the magazine and so on. No, guns don't kill people, but a psychopath with a gun kills people a lot easier than a psychopath without a gun.

Actually, now that I think about it, they should leave her ugly! Why aren't the heroes ever the ugly ones in games? Why couldn't your main character have been the one without a jaw instead of the villain? (I would have preferred a missing jaw to that godawful mullet he had) Down with the pretty people, let's make the heroes ugly and the villains look like sissy models! (I wanted to play a Hutt, but they won't let me)

Haha, I will laugh at you when you ::twitch::twitch:: have no teeth left! I laugh so hard my extremities tingle! HAHA! But what the hell was I laughing about? Damnit, I forgot and that makes me really sad! Now I want to kill myself, and I would if that damn headache would let go. It gets worse and worse every day. Crap, all this typing has exhausted me and my aching fingers. I'll go rest my strangely weak eyes now. Bye. Now where did I put that Cola Light? I'm thirsty.

I think the MMORPG hype has died out now. Just look at how many of them that have been cancelled in the last couple of months. I am sure Obsidian knows they have their greatest strength in story writing, and as far as I know, MMORPG's have never been that story-driven. My biggest concern is that Obsidian will bend over to the dark forces and start doing console games only.

I have actually been to Greece several times since I had (a now deceased) relative living there. Swedish girls are prettier though! If you like blondes..

I am glad the portuguese joined in the party because their women were much nicer to look at than the greek women.. B)

The best tutorial I've seen was the one in Gothic. It had none. They just threw you into the game with no explanations whatsoever and let you get your butt kicked over and over until you forced yourself to learn the game mechanics. And that's the way I like it. I hate being hand-held through my games.

Did anyone ever play that old D&D game called Death Knights Of Krynn? I wish Obsidian would make KotOR2 more like that game.. In Death Knights Of Krynn you started as a normal character who had the choice of becoming a Knight (or Paladin). If you made the choice of becoming a knight you had to work a lot harder than those who chose an easier career. Of course, when you finally gained a few levels it was well worth it, as you became incredibly powerful. It bores me to know that whatever you do in a game you'll eventually end up what the developers has decided for you beforehand. Like a Jedi. Make it a choice and I'll gladly jump to the challenge, just because it's the most difficult career to pursue.

Congratulations Greece, the new European Football Champions 2004! Greece's highly effective, but extremely boring defense smothered Portugal completely. Portugal attacked and attacked, but almost never managed to create any great scoring chances, and when they became tired Greece attacked for a few minutes instead. In the end, that tactic paid off as Greece managed to score one and Portugal scored none. Boring, but effective.
