  1. Well, it's not difficult to see why so many americans choose to believe "we're better than everyone else, that's why they hate us so much" bullsh!t, when the alternative is "we steal, murder and cheat to get bnetter oil deals".. Unfortunately, only one of those alternatives is true.
  2. Ahem, Thor doesn't have a horse, Odin has a horse, with 8 legs. I believe Thor has a goat if memory serves me correctly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Argh, you are right. I checked up on it and I had Odin's 8-legged horse confused with Thor's chariot (pulled by two goats). I just remembered the old tales of Thor riding around the skies, making thunder (thunderous hoofs) and figured it was Sleipner making the noice. OH WELL: I'll have to settle for two.. goats.
  3. Good luck! My ex-girlfriend used to work as an adjunct and it wasn't so bad. Of course, she taught 19-21 year old swedish girls how to speak french..
  4. Oh, no matter. I voted for Thor anyhow since he's always been my favourite god. His horse has like a myriad of legs and that hammer of his.. phew! It could split the skies.
  5. I love Russia! I'm fascinated by its history, its technology (love the MIG's!) and its heritage. Also, I think Russia is on the brink of a breakthrough in gaming and there are a lot of highly educated/intellectual people there. It seems like a lot of interesting titles are being developed there right now too. Unfortunately, it takes a long time to repair a damaged international reputation and a flawed political system. In Sweden, Russia is well-known for its crime rates and corruption. I do own an alarm clock that speaks the time in russian when you press a big red nose on it, though
  6. Would it be possible to increase the indentation (the way a quote is moved slightly to the right relative to the new post)? As I'm used to reading code this would be a great help for me. One "space" just seems a bit puny.
  7. I'd personally go for the B option, because that's almost the exact same setup as I am using myself. The Radeon 9800 Pro (choose one with 256Mb) is an excellent choice for gaming and runs every game on the market with skyhigh fps. Far Cry looks absolutely awesome on my machine. But if I was going to get a new system now, I'd definitely go for a Athlon 64 mounted on an Nforce 3-250 motherboard. If I could afford it I'd buy a Radeon X800 too..
  8. I think the PC version of Halo sucked mostly because they decided to remove the co-op in it. I can imagine Halo being a great game to play with a friend, but as a single player experience it's just too repetitive and boring.
  9. Wow. This thread is great! It reminds me that I actually do have a life that I don't spend watching and analyzing every frame in a trailer for a soon to be released computer game. Thanks!
  10. A new (but kind of crappy) preview of Dungeon Lords can be found here: http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=19167 But it didn't exactly tell me anything new about the game.
  11. Pansy Uh.. no, wait! I meant.. he would be growing cactii instead of flowers.. and he'd cuddle the puppies HARD! And he only uses the spice to throw into people's eyes..
  12. I would also like a really brutal looking war-droid instead of that sissy HK-47. But make him cry whenever he has to harm something! And make him grow flowers whenever he has some free time and cuddle puppies and sugar and spice and everything nice.
  13. I guess so...i mean, it just sounds so...stupid... Are you one of those who votes for the most handsome president too?
  14. Well, if you look at the thread you'll soon realize noone specified which machine this thread was intended for. I haven't seen the ads. So why don't you go and make yourself even fatter in a McDonald's or something?
  15. Huh? Halo sucked on the PC. It was repetitive, unoptimized, quite ugly and not at all original. Why would I need a PS2 to see that? Chrome (by Techland) was a better Halo than Halo on the PC.
  16. The point I was making was that if you can write an entire thesis on one song, I'm sure you can find just about any "references" you want to find in a movie. Some people have even managed to find predictions about 9/11 by reading the bible upside down, using a complex formula while eating cooked bananas. I'm aware The Matrix is full of neat little extra details, but what's the point? It's ironic though.. Aren't you the same people who wrote that Fahrenheit 9/11 was just a bunch of lies? But The Matrix on the other hand.. This is kind of what that swedish guy did to The River: http://artisanitorium.thehydden.com/nonfic...film/matrix.htm
  17. Or maybe I don't search for wisdom in Hollywood produced action movies? I loved The Matrix, but trying to find a deeper meaning in it is useless. I do think it's hilarious when people try to find hidden meanings in useless stuff. There was a swedish guy once who wrote a doctor's thesis about Bruce Springsteen's song "The River".. Sometimes the swedish school system makes me so proud..
  18. Yet another (hrm) Neverwinter Nights clone appears: Fallen Kingdoms It seems to be an action-RPG set in a 3D world, using their own character system and their own IP. If you're interested and want to see a movie from the game: http://www.gamershell.com/download_6584.shtml
  19. By just using one DVD they can cram in movies in better quality, better sound and more little extras than on the four CD's they used the last time. One DVD can contain 6-7 CD's. They did this with Thief 3 and Deus Ex: Invisible War in Europe; the DVD-versions had better quality movies and sound.
  20. I had to review Way Of the Samurai 2 recently, and I must say I wasn't all too impressed. The game only uses one save. The game only saves when you quit. When you load that save up again the save is destroyed. All that means that whenever you die, you have to start over from scratch. The game is also very short, although it has several paths to choose from and not all paths can be taken in one playthrough. Unfortunately it is also quite weak in RPG aspects and fighting aspects, plus the graphics are very bland and repetitive. Oh, and if you don't want to look like a beggar, you're forced to wear a skirt.. I'll wait for Obsidian's take on feudal Japan.
  21. They've started experimental crops of industrial hemp in Sweden, because some scientists claim that little weed has some great qualities. We'll see in a couple of years how good it is. At least here in Sweden. And no, you can't smoke industrial hemp. Well, you can but it won't do anything to you.
  22. Don't bother explaining that to him, he's just here for a quick hit & run, which is usually what he does whenever he attempts to troll. I think it's a full moon thing. Where the hell are those silver bullets when you need them? Well, 'JN, I was actually hoping to hear your version of why you feel it is complex and what kind of symbolism you've seen in the movie. You see, I have lots of friends who claim that Matrix is deep, but when asked to explain why, most people don't know. They just parrot what others have said. Surprise me with something intelligent!
  23. Got to love it when people claim that Matrix is complex and filled with symbolism and have no clue what they're talking about. The first Matrix was a great action movie, nothing else. The two sequels weren't even that.
  24. I must say this game looks a lot better in action than in stills. We got 10 new screenshots to our swedish gamesite today and they all looked.. a lot less than awe inspiring. But then I saw the trailer and now I believe KotOR2 is going to be an awesome game again Talk about falling for the hype.. *sigh*
  25. Agh.
