  1. Well, Mr. Obvious, I think everyone knows that doing KotOR2 is a great chance for any company, seeing as how successful the first game was. That still doesn't change the fact that I would rather have seen Bioware doing KotOR2 themselves and Obsidian using their talent to make more of those rare games (like Planescape: Torment 2) that I imagine only they can do. Now we're getting Dragon Age, a new IP from Bioware, while Obsidian are stuck doing a sequel for LucasArts (death to creativity!). Oh well.

    IQ Test

The reason behind it only having figures is that it's supposed to avoid cultural and educational differences.. I'm not so sure it works, but I do know it's much better than having actual words (that have different meanings for different languages) or using math problems (since a stupid person can learn math formulas). But it's just a test to see how "broad" your mind is, your ability to discern a pattern and your logic ability.
  3. Ok, want to make a bet then? I bet you $100 that the word fuck won't appear anywhere in KotOR2. Perhaps you want to make a bet about STD's? Or if there will be functioning brothels? Or perhaps you think we'll be able to kill children? Hey, you think we'll be able to steal from the stores this time around? Do you think we'll even see dismemberment in this installment? Do you think there will be any kind of sex in the entire game? Or nudity? Besides, my LucasArtsified remark was to be considered a joke. I just want the original team to do the new version of Wasteland.
  4. The ending in Fallout changed according to which side-quests you had completed in the game. It must have had a whole lot of endings. I've only tried three different ones myself.. But Volourn is right. It sure sounds like you haven't played Fallout, EnderWiggin.. Wasn't it you who said I should play the game before discussing it in another thread?
  5. Well, then read this list, non-believers! http://etoychest.org/content.php?article.76 The number one on that list (before Planescape: Torment) was written and programmed by none other than D.W. Bradley. (And for now, just ignore the fact that the best RPG ever is just number ten.. ) D.W. Bradley is currently busy writing and programming.. Dungeon Lords.
  6. This is not quite true. There are lots of protest organizations who constantly fight the regime in China, at least in Sweden. Also, China is often mentioned in swedish news, everytime some new horrible story pops up. We hear about the hundreds of thousands of political prisoners held in China just as often as we hear about the 25 million people living in poverty in the US. To me, those are just two different types of victims of a failed government. "What you described is laws allowing the US to legally sell products, despite the fact that you find the practice questionable. China has no respect for international trade laws." Well, the laws that allows them to sell our products used are american laws. They are not international laws. Unfortunately there aren't any defined international laws in this particular case though. China, however, use the exact same argument; "according to our laws we're allowed to do this and that". And it sucks both ways.
  7. Only one nation in the world has ever used a nuclear weapon against another nation, and it wasn't China. I worked for a small medical company called Radi Medical a few weeks back. They ship vast amounts of medical (patented) equipment to the US. A couple of months back a separate (american) country started taking these products (they are made to be used once, then tossed), cleaning them up, putting their own logo on them and then selling them cheaper than the new (swedish) products. I forgot the name of the bureau that forbid Radi Medical to do this procedure themselves, but allowed the american company to continue selling the used products. I agree: you don't steal products the way China does. But don't believe for a second that the US doesn't steal IP's, the methods are just different. You could really benefit from reading No Logo. No matter. It is still a crime against human rights. China is way worse, everyone knows that, but you should really clean up in front of your own door before invading other countries because they're violating human rights (which was one of the reasons the US invaded Iraq, for example). And I assume you believe the US never tortured any of their prisoners, right? Do you believe O.J. is innocent or rich? I'm not going to sit here and defend China in any way. I just think some of you needs to be reminded that most of what China does, the US does too. And it's very easy to compare, trust me.
  8. Actually, most people believe USA has nuclear arms too. American nuclear arms are not there to water the flowers or feed the children either, you know. Did you know that the death penalty is against human rights? Albania is the only country in Europe that allows their own governments to murder people. I won't even get started on invading countries at will or "no respect for international trade laws" (but you should read the book No Logo, by Naomi Klein). Noone is claiming China is "better" in any way than the US. The difference is that China never claimed to be "the lighthouse of democracy of the world". It's the hypocrisy that's the real killer.
  9. Now I'm only waiting for EnderWiggin to defend his line of logic in the hat problem..
  10. NinjaPirate: Ohio.
  11. A great example of "breaking the fourth wall" can be seen in the final scene of Francois Truffaut's masterpiece "Les Quatre cents coups". (The Four Hundred Blows) The movie is about a young boy growing up in France during the early twentieth century. The final scene is probably one of the most classic examples of a director breaking the mold (or in this case, the fourth wall) ever. It's an incredibly powerful scene and I'd recommend you all to see this one, even though it's black and white. Unfortunately I can't describe it to you because that would be a major spoiler.
  12. I really want bigger worlds. Unfortunately they've already confirmed that this won't be the case with KotOR2 so I'm all out of luck.

    IQ Test

Well, since so many people have seen and done IQ-tests, the average scores have risen slightly so now the normal IQ is more like 115. It used to be 100 for a normal human.

    IQ Test

You could try this one instead.. You'll probably not max it out at least. http://www.iqtest.dk/ Around IQ 115 is normal.
  15. Hentai!
  16. Games are already coming out on DVD.. In Europe. Deus Ex 2 and Thief 3 are both out on DVD here and they are both better versions than their North American CD counterparts. (Higher resolution movies, better, and more, sounds etc.) And Unreal Tournament 2004 and Far Cry were also released on DVD here in Europe, although I don't know how they were released in NA.
  17. I wouldn't want Obsidian to handle Wasteland! I mean, a company that makes a KotOR-sequel really should have nothing to do with Wasteland. They'll be too disneyfied (or in this case LucasArtsified) by then. InXile has Brian Fargo who I think was the main designer on the original Wasteland together with Alan Pavlish.. If they could consult Alan for the new Wasteland AND skip the comic style they have chosen for Bard's Tale (which is what makes me worry about InXile) then it might be a great game. I want more of that gritty, realistic, wasteland feel!
  18. I want a remake of Wasteland, but with an engine that represents the best of todays technology. I'm not sure about how InXile will treat Wasteland..
  19. Dereth: Don't know the correct term for it, but it sounds like coal. (Black coal, gets red when you burn it and the ashes are white..)
  20. Your logic is flawed, right here: "But he (#2) also knows that #1 had to see off colors, so #2 would know that he had the other black hat." #1 would know the colour of his own hat IF AND ONLY IF he saw TWO black hats. They DO NOT have to be off colours. (They could both be white and he would still not be able to tell his own colour since there were three white availible) "The only solution is with #1 and #2 both having white hats, and #3 having a black hat." Let's try your solution then. Still three white, two black. #1 sees #2 having white, and #3 having black. He can't say. #2 sees #1 having white, and #3 having black. But if #2 sees #3 having black, #2 would know that his own was white! Why? Because if #2 and #3 both had black #1 would know his colour. Your solution does not work. The only solution is if #3 is wearing white. (Possible solutions: #1 white #2 white #3 white, #1 black #2 white #3 white, #1 white #2 black #3 white, #1 black #2 black #3 white) I believe I was correct.
  21. Just have to write a line or two about poor Spain. Every year (well, almost) they either fail to make it to the playoffs or they disappear in the first round of the playoffs. They have some of the world's finest football teams, like Real Madrid or Barcelona, who every year are serious contenders for the UEFA Champions League. Yet, despite all their talent and all their superstars, they never seem to do well as a nation. I wonder why this is? Luckily for me, Sweden is quite the opposite. Our club teams are all crap and most of our stars play in foreign leagues. But as soon as they put on the national colours and enter the national team they suddenly become much better than they usually are in their respective leagues. I still feel sorry for Spain though.
  22. Servant: Sounds like either time or water. Or a combination..
  23. ^ The Princess Bride. A classic.
  24. Tough talk. Go ahead. Pad up. Let a 350 pound lineman plow into you as hard as he can. Go ahead. I'll let you get set too. Then come back and tell me the guy who just put cleat marks up your fat ass is a ****. Why is this the single most common answer you get as soon as you criticize anything even remotely american? (not remotely in this case) "My dad could beat up your dad" and all that childish nonsense.. I don't know which is worse; the "random evil guy" troll or the childish (bordering on retarded) reply? ANYHOW.. The Czech Republic defeated Holland earlier tonite, despite Holland leading the game 2-0 at one point. Nedved was fantastic in his midfield/attacker position and Holland made the exact same mistake that Italy did against Sweden this Friday. They backed home way too early when they were in the lead. The Czech Republic scored three well deserved goals (one, the half volley, a real beauty) against Holland who had to play with one man less on the field. This might have been the best game so far in this tournament. Both teams created a lot of chances and we got to see 5 goals all in all. The early game today was a real snore though. Latvia - Germany played another 0-0 game, and both teams looked.. unimpressive. Except Ballack.
  25. Wait a minute.. I didn't see that the first time I read this post.. But there's definitely a typo in there! Look at the I in "As i said, very interesting.". It's not capitalized! Well, Maria "Taliban" Caliban, in case you didn't know, you're supposed to use a capital I in the english language when referring to oneself. Could you please put in a little effort in your spelling? Your excessive amount of typos are starting to get on my nerves.
